Li Hengsheng looked down at Lu Shiran, whose face was dusty and lips were already chapped.
In her hand, she held a dirty bun, with sand still clinging to it.
It seemed like it had fallen to the ground when she was stealing food, but Lu Shiran still picked it up and ate it.
"Come eat with me." Li Hengsheng took the bun from Lu Shiran's hand and casually tossed it aside; it was too dirty to eat.
Lu Shiran glanced back at the bun, appearing somewhat reluctant, but followed Li Hengsheng into the inn.
"Let those upstairs know I have some matters to attend to and won't be coming up, they can do as they please." Li Hengsheng told the waiter.
"Yes." The waiter hurried upstairs to deliver the message.
"Shopkeeper, set up a table of dishes for us." Li Hengsheng instructed the shopkeeper.
"Yes, yes, I'll arrange it right away."
The shopkeeper quickly went to make the arrangements.
Li Hengsheng had a basin of water brought over and helped Lu Shiran wash her face.
