Chapter 311 - Sending Future Rogue to the Past

"Takeshi, how should we handle these guys?" Makarov asked Takeshi.

Although he was the Guild Master, in such a tricky situation, it was better to let Takeshi handle it.

Takeshi couldn't help but frown as he looked at the several Dragons. He certainly had the ability to kill these guys, but they were, after all, lives from the past. He didn't know what kind of impact killing them here would have.

"Let's send them back." Takeshi said after a moment of thought.

These Dragons were lives from the past, so they should be sent back to the past. Since they would eventually face death anyway, there was no need for him to kill them himself.

Soon.

Rumble!

The Eclipse Gate reopened.

Using his Chakra Hands, Takeshi bundled up all seven Dragons and threw them inside.

Future Rogue's expression turned ugly upon seeing this. He hadn't expected that the seven Dragons he had worked so hard to obtain would be sent back just like that for nothing. Although he was unwilling, there was nothing he could do.

However, he did receive some good news. Many dragons still lived on the Guiltina Continent, including some with strength comparable to Acnologia. As long as he could control those guys, he would possess power even greater than he did now.

"Hmph! Takeshi, just you wait. Once I've controlled more Dragons, I'll come back to wipe out you and Fairy Tail."

...

"Close the gate!" Hisui ordered the gate to be closed.

"Wait a moment!" Takeshi spoke up to stop her.

"What is it, Takeshi-san?"

Hisui couldn't help but use an honorific for Takeshi. Without a doubt, Takeshi was currently the strongest Mage in Fiore—no, in the entire Ishgar continent. This was not something a mere princess of a kingdom like she could compare to.

"There's still one little mouse. Let's send him over too."

While everyone was still a bit dazed, Takeshi's Chakra Hand suddenly lunged toward Rogue. Under everyone's confused and puzzled gazes, it grabbed Rogue's shadow and pulled a person out of it.

"What?!"

Future Rogue was a bit stunned. He didn't know how the other party had discovered his hiding place.

"Rogue!!!"

Although his appearance had changed somewhat, everyone recognized him at a glance as Rogue from Sabertooth.

"It's me?!"

Rogue's eyes widened in shock.

What was going on?

"How are there two Rogues?!" Everyone was dumbfounded.

The Knight Captain stepped forward and said, "It's him! He's the one who deceived the Princess! He came from the future and told the Princess that ten thousand Dragons would attack. The Princess believed his words and opened the Eclipse Gate."

Everyone realized that this person was the culprit behind this entire incident.

"Let me go!"

Future Rogue struggled, but no matter how he thrashed, he couldn't escape Takeshi's Chakra Hand.

"Don't you like manipulating Dragons? I'll send you back 400 years, that was the era of Dragons."

As he spoke, Takeshi threw Future Rogue into the Eclipse Gate.

Hearing that Takeshi wasn't going to kill him but was sending him 400 years into the past instead, Future Rogue was suddenly overjoyed. "Takeshi, you will regret your decision!"

With a distorted face, Future Rogue shouted at Takeshi, "Just you wait! I will survive! I will keep surviving! I'll live until today, 400 years later, and I will definitely come back to settle the score with you!"

Clang!

The doors of the Eclipse Gate slowly closed.

Mirajane asked with some concern, "Takeshi, he won't really..."

Takeshi smiled. "It's fine. 400 years ago, Acnologia ended the era of Dragons. Even if he goes back, what kind of waves can he possibly stir up? The era of Dragons was destined to be destroyed. Even if he lives, he'll just be barely clinging to life. He's nothing to fear."

"This... was that really me... will I become..."

Rogue was suddenly filled with guilt. Would his future self really become like that?

Takeshi said, "Don't worry. That person isn't you, or rather, he is one of the infinite possible futures for you. Your future self hasn't encountered the same things as today, which means your world-line is different from his. You don't need to worry about becoming like that."

"But speaking of which, it seems the Royal Capital is ruined."

Takeshi glanced at his surroundings. Except for the Grand Magic Games Arena in the distance, which remained relatively intact, the entire Royal Capital was completely destroyed.

The King of Fiore, Toma, said, "It's alright. With magic, there's no problem."

He loved the Grand Magic Games dearly. The magical duels between Mages made his blood boil, which was why he acted as the referee, Mato.

This year's Grand Magic Games were very different. The games themselves were incredibly exciting, and then there was a battle between humans and Dragons at night. The scene of Takeshi defeating seven Dragons by himself was something he intended to write into the history of the Kingdom of Fiore.

Since the Royal Capital was destroyed, everyone had to go to the Grand Magic Games Arena to rest for the night.

Over the next few days, the city began to be repaired. Speaking of which, the court Mages of the Kingdom of Fiore were very skilled in terms of magical technology.

The Royal Palace, which had been reduced to ashes, soon reappeared, looking exactly as it did before the destruction.

The streets were also partially restored. These court Mages might not be as good at combat as guild Mages, but their technical skills far surpassed those of ordinary guild Mages.

For instance, the Sky Labyrinth manifested during the Grand Magic Games' preliminaries was a very impressive piece of Engineering Magic.

A few days after the Grand Magic Games ended.

"Did you hear? They say that while we were being evacuated, Dragons attacked the city."

"Don't talk nonsense. Aren't Dragons just creatures made up in legends?"

"They say someone saw them with their own eyes."

"Wasn't it just a Mage's magic?"

"But what kind of magic could cause such massive destruction?"

...

ome of the city's residents gradually returned. Seeing Crocus destroyed beyond recognition, they were all dumbfounded, not knowing what had happened here.

The Kingdom suppressed the news about the Dragons. After all, it wasn't a good thing. If others knew it was because of the Princess that Dragons were brought to this era, both the citizens and neighboring countries would have much to say about the Kingdom of Fiore's actions. So, the best way was to simply hide it.

"Speaking of which, it seems that group of Mages is having a party in the Royal Palace today."

"Wow! I'm so jealous. There's never been a precedent for inviting Mages into the castle before."

"It shows that this banquet is quite grand."
