Max woke up a couple of hours later, the dim light from the window barely cutting through the dusty apartment room.
His phone rang.
He groaned slightly, rolling over before grabbing it and answering.
"Hey."
"Hey, man. Missing us already?" Loona's voice came through, trying to sound tough and sarcastic like usual.
Max smirked.
"Aren't you the one who called me?"
There was a small pause.
"…Shut up."
Max chuckled lightly, sitting up and stretching.
"So," Loona continued, clearly trying to change the subject, "what are you up to?"
Another pause.
"…Got any new girls yet? We've only been gone for less than a week."
Max leaned back against the wall.
"Well, not quite," he said casually. "Though a couple have crossed my mind."
He paused slightly.
"But like we agreed… you three have to approve them."
There was silence for a moment.
Max could feel it through the call—Loona was just slightly irritated.
Not angry.
Just… territorial.
"Fine," she said. "Who do you have in mind?"
Max didn't hesitate.
"One of them is Beelzebub."
There was a beat.
"She… kind of took a liking to me after an incident at her party last night."
For a second, there was silence—
Then Loona burst out laughing.
"You? Winning over a Sin?" she said between laughs. "Yeah, I'll believe that when I see it."
Max rolled his eyes.
"Hey, it's not impossible."
"Sure, sure," Loona said. "If you actually pull that off, you've earned it."
She calmed down slightly.
"…Alright. Who's the other one?"
Max glanced out the window.
"A succubus named Verosika."
There was a sharp choking sound on the other end of the line.
"You mean Verosika Mayday?" Loona said, coughing slightly. "I'm a huge fan of hers!"
Then her tone shifted.
"…But I don't know if she's a good fit."
Max raised an eyebrow.
"Why not?"
"She's a succubus," Loona said bluntly. "They sleep around. That's literally their whole thing."
Max paused.
Then it clicked.
They're not worried about jealousy…
They're worried about it being temporary.
Or worse—
Him getting hurt.
Max sighed softly.
"You worry too much," he said.
Loona didn't respond.
Max continued.
"If she actually cares about me, I've got ways to work around that."
Loona hummed slightly, skeptical.
"Like what?"
Max leaned back, thinking carefully about how to phrase it.
"She can handle her… work… in dreams instead of physically," he said. "Or just rely on her charm abilities without actually doing anything."
He shrugged slightly.
"Besides, I don't think she even enjoys dealing with humans that much."
There was a pause.
"…What do you mean by that?" Loona asked, her tone slightly suspicious.
"You were human."
Max blinked.
"…Right."
He cleared his throat quickly.
"I just mean—compared to everything in Lust, the human world probably feels… underwhelming."
There was another pause.
Then—
"…Yeah, actually, that makes sense," Loona admitted.
Max let out a quiet breath of relief.
"Alright," she continued. "I'll talk to Millie."
She paused again.
"You talk to Poppi."
"We need both of them to say yes."
Max nodded, even though she couldn't see it.
"Got it."
There was a moment of silence.
Then Loona spoke again, more slowly this time.
"…Wait."
Max froze internally.
"How are you in Gluttony right now?"
Her tone sharpened slightly.
"That shouldn't be possible."
Max's brain immediately started scrambling for an answer—
Then he didn't.
Instead—
Click.
The call disconnected.
Max stared at his phone for a second.
"…Yeah, I'm not explaining that."
He stretched his arms above his head and stood up from the bed.
"Alright."
His expression shifted, becoming more focused.
"Time for the party."
He stepped toward the window, Gluttony's neon lights reflecting in his eyes as the city buzzed with energy once more.
[A: I will be posting 3 new chapters for my other two stories each. Afterwards ill post my completely Original Story. I am tempted to make a patreon for like 2-3 bucks a month with a bunch of tossed ideas and things to vote on. Either way I won't contract the story so it will be free all the way through. Enjoy]
