Chapter 62 - Intermission 2

In the futuristic-looking corridor, a quiet girl stood, looking through the windows into nothingness stretching everywhere outside. She stood there, her eyes a mix of pain and hope.

-"You are here, Mash."-A familiar voice called out to her.

-"Rin-Senpai."-She greeted the black-haired magus.

-"What's the matter?"

-"Nothing."

-"Don't hide it. Are you worried about your home?"

-"Something like that."

-"Then don't be. I believe that we'll be able to deal with that bastard Mage King in not so distant future."

-"I also believe in you, Senpais."

-"I'd feel happier if you didn't include that gaudy woman in this."-Rin shook her head.

-"Well, our dear Mash is a proper lady who understands how to be polite, not like you, a musclehead."

-"Luvia!"

-"Sem..."

-"Stop it, you two."-Reines, who also appeared, interrupted them.-"We have another job, let's get going."

-"Have we confirmed that location? I remember it had some anomaly present."-Luvia asked.

-"Da Vinci and Roman confirmed what they could, even Wizard Marshall helped them, but the information is still scarce. We can only be certain that that woman will be there."

-"But, if King Arthur shows up..."-Sakura spoke from the side.

-"There is a good chance he'll be there too. Whether he'll stand on our side or hers. I can't say.

-"We'll cross that bride when it arrives."-Rin tried to cheer up her sister.-"That guy won't help Mage King."

-"You talk about that Ruler?"-A red-haired girl asked them.

-"He wasn't a Ruler, but yes, about him."

-"I want to meet him, someone who can stop that ray for so long."

-"Are you going or not!"-A shout from Atalanta standing by the doors made them speed up.

When they entered the conference room, they were greeted by their Heroic Spirits.

-"Let's not waste more time. This Sixth Singularity might be full of surprises. Our plan..."

While they were in the middle of discussing this, a familiar figure's ears stood up, its eyes shining with happy light.

-"Fou!"

Everyone looked at that furry mascot, not understanding its meaning, only one person observing from the tower at the end of the world smiled.

In the cold tundra of Ursus, a group of people sat around a bonfire. If I were there, I would recognize some of them.

-"So, are we truly doing this?"-Yelena asked, her voice containing resignation.

-"Yes."-Talulah nodded, her eyes cold, devoid of any warmth.-"We need to show the way forward for the Infected."

-"It's too risky. Wouldn't it be better to act with Eno? Act as he did in Leithanien?"

-"Ursus won't work with us."

-"Right, let's just eliminate those corrupt nobles!"-A young boy with white hair spoke enthusiastically.

Patriot looked at this, but remained silent.

Yelena tried her best to stop Talulah from taking radical actions, but since the day she sent Alina to Lateran Monastery, she had changed into something cold and indifferent.

-"So, what's the plan?"-Another young man asked.

-"We'll infiltrate the city slowly, while waiting for those mercenaries to gather. When we are ready, we'll strike. No negotiations, just a swift takeover."

-"Good!"

Yelena watched it, thinking about how to prevent everything from being destroyed.
