Jaeger and Miyuki were both dangerous, both selfish. But Kushina had always liked men, not women. And deep down, she had been longing for Jaeger ever since he left.
"Sorry, Miyuki… I'm going too!"
Her Nine-Tails chakra flared as she tore free of Miyuki's Susanoo and ran toward Jaeger without looking back.
"E-even you, Kushina?!"
Miyuki froze. Even her best friend had betrayed her.
"Hahaha! You see? That's the sorrow of the weak."
Madara chuckled at Miyuki's misery.
"Strength attracts. These women gather around Jaeger because of his power. If you hate it, then grow stronger. Surpass him."
"…Impossible…" Miyuki's voice trembled. Her eyes stayed locked on Jaeger, now surrounded by Konan, Rin, and Kushina, holding them close like angels at his side.
"Some people can train all their lives and stay forever stuck at chūnin. Some are born to stand at the peak. Jaeger is… unreachable."
Madara wanted to argue. He wanted to spit back that hard work mattered. But the memories of betrayal, of Black Zetsu, of his defeat at Naruto and Sasuke's hands it all silenced him.
"…No. I'll keep climbing." His eyes hardened.
"I don't care about Hokage. I refuse to rot in this world. I'll catch up to Jaeger, no matter how far he runs ahead."
Madara cut the livestream and threw himself back into battle. No more teaching Konan. No more wasted time.
Instead, he challenged Angel Leng and Kasumigaoka Utaha head-on.
The three clashed. Land shattered, mountain ranges collapsed, forests and rivers were torn apart as if natural disasters were nothing but toys in their hands.
Their fight scorched hundreds of kilometers before they finally soared tens of thousands of meters into the sky, battling in the upper atmosphere.
Jaeger watched, relaxed, holding Konan, Rin, and Kushina in his arms while Miyuki sulked bitterly beside him.
"Rune scripts really are useful…" Jaeger muttered. A vast inherent barrier of Scathach's design shielded the battlefield, containing the destruction.
"Without it, half the ninja world would be rubble by now."
Miyuki pouted, but her voice was filled with awe.
"Even Utaha-senpai turned into a fighting maniac…"
"Don't worry," Jaeger smirked. "Some people live for the battlefield. Some people live to watch."
Just then, Jaeger's eyes shifted toward the edge of the barrier.
"What is it, Your Highness?" Miyuki asked.
"…We've been found." Jaeger's grin widened.
"Three figures. One of them… exactly my type."
He chuckled lowly.
"What do you say, Miyuki? Should I catch her… and give her some proper 'education'?"
