The heavy warmth of Elias's hug kept me awake for only a little while before I finally fell asleep. As my eyes closed in our dark bedroom, the sound of his breathing faded away, and I felt like I was floating. The stone castle and the threat of Ophelia melted into a deep gray fog. I was falling into a dream, but it did not feel like the scary nightmares the System usually gave me.
Instead, the fog cleared to show a place I remembered very well from my past. The smooth floors of the palace were gone. In their place were the plain white walls of my old hospital room back on Earth, where I spent my whole life before coming to this world.
