Chapter 129 - Chapter 129: Red Spider VS Chimera

Chapter 129: Red Spider VS Chimera

"Ah! Help! Liar!"

"Damn it!"

Almost instantly, the dozens of Roman soldiers and generals were turned into balls of fire, collapsing silently.

Such was the cruelty of reality. Even though Red Spider didn't intervene, it couldn't save the humans from the Chimera's attack.

At that moment, Red Spider was thinking about how to deal with the enormous creature in the sky. Moreover, its disguise as a prehistoric beast had been uncovered. Its agile movements revealed that it had been a ruse; it wasn't a big, seemingly docile feline, but a clever predator.

"Kitty, can you tell me why you're here? And what did your conversation with those humans mean? Don't tell me you're trying to give the Master information on the whereabouts of those rebels!"

Although it hadn't heard the full conversation between Red Spider and the humans, it was clear that this Chimera was scheming. It hadn't participated in the previous battle and burned with rage. If it could beat that traitor nearly to death and bring him back for a reward, the mechanical Chimera would be more than satisfied.

"I wanted to gather more information for the Master. You saw those two they don't care about these things at all. Since you've noticed the issue too, why don't we inform the Master together? I won't steal the credit from you, okay?"

Red Spider was extremely nervous. It wasn't afraid it couldn't defeat the Chimera, but it worried that its identity would be revealed, preventing it from continuing to infiltrate Dodo King Kong's side. Fortunately, they were on the edge of the battlefield, and the other prehistoric beasts were chasing the remaining enemy forces, not focusing on them. In other words, as long as no major disturbances occurred there, Starscream was safe for now.

"Ha, clever mammal, do you really think reptiles don't think? I'll deliver this message to my master, but I'll also tear you to pieces, hidden traitor, and return you. Then I'll rip apart your little friend, the ant. You'll see!"

It seemed this giant was not easily fooled, but Starscream's traits were far too obvious.

There was no room for negotiation. Another method of communication was necessary. If it wanted to capture him and take him to the Fallen for a reward, it would at least need to demonstrate some skill!

After saying this, Starscream ignored the Chimera's reaction and ran toward the edge of the battlefield. This area was mainly covered by mountains and dense forests, which easily concealed the size of both creatures.

It seemed the Fallen couldn't stay here long, but Starscream wouldn't let this mechanical monster defeat him. Once he reached a position that could block the vision and radio signals of the Decepticons, Starscream could unleash his true form and confront it.

"Clever kitty, trying to escape? Trying to trick me, Chimera? Do you really think I'll let you go so easily?"

At first, it thought the exasperated kitty would launch a frontal attack, but it didn't expect such a rapid escape. Wasn't this the cat-and-mouse game it wanted?

"Ha, you think I'm running? I just feel this terrain isn't suitable to unleash my true power. If you're scared, you don't have to follow me!"

Watching the massive creature looming behind him, Starscream was clearly using a provocation tactic. To pique its curiosity, he even transformed his tail into a machine gun and fired a rapid series of shots at the Chimera in the sky.

Of course, these were low-quality metal bullets that only produced a few golden sparks upon hitting the giant Chimera completely ineffective!

"Kitty, you've got a trick up your sleeve. You've caught my attention!"

Clearly, the effect Starscream deliberately created immediately drew the Chimera's focus. Driven by curiosity, it didn't unleash its full speed, instead calmly following Starscream toward his predetermined location. It seemed oblivious to the trap about to fall.

"Your shell is quite tough. I have few bullets, so I won't waste them here. But when we get there, I'll show you. I advise you to surrender if you're scared; no one cares about your cowardice!"

Starscream knew these provocations wouldn't drive the Chimera away; instead, they would keep it drawn to him wherever he went. This was psychological warfare.

"Enough, noisy kitty, save your energy! Have you thought about where I'll smash you? I can't wait to see you ripped apart. I wonder what state your half-baked spark is in right now."

Perhaps because the Fallen had other plans, this Chimera had no spark of its own, only a super-intelligent chip. It could only fight in its mechanical monster form and couldn't transform into a robot, giving it a natural hostility toward other shapeshifting predators.

However, as these two formidable enemies entered the blind spot of the predators, Starscream's laser cannon revealed his true combat power. This time, what he fired at the giant in the sky wasn't broken metal, but laser bullets one after another. The Chimera had never anticipated this.

Underestimating the Red Spider on the ground initially, the giant made no attempt to dodge the second attack a colossal mistake.

"Boom, boom, boom!"

"What's happening? How is it possible that your weapon system has suddenly improved? No, no, it can't be! Damn kitty, you've been hiding your true strength all this time!"

Although only hit three times, the laser beams caused massive explosions even in this incredibly resilient Chimera. Its outer metal armor was pierced, scattering fragments everywhere. This was Starscream's true power!
