At the convergence of countless planes, where innumerable floating realms intertwine—this was, without question, the center of all existence!
Somewhere in the western region of the Great Thousand Worlds, above a vast and unending mountain range, the once-clear heavens abruptly dimmed. Clouds thickened, thunder roared, and furious gales surged, carrying endless torrents of Spiritual Energy. Finally, a radiant gate connecting heaven and earth split open amidst the storm!
Such a heaven-shaking phenomenon naturally caused every spiritual beast in the mountain range to tremble. Countless massive creatures prostrated themselves in fear, eyes filled with awe and dread as they stared blankly at the sky.
A lone figure soon tumbled out of that towering gate—a man in tattered azure robes, looking somewhat disheveled and battered.
It was none other than Liu Xi.
At this moment, Liu Xi was in a rather foul mood. Ever since leaving the Dou Qi Continent, his journey had been anything but smooth.
The first problem he faced was direction. Even with his Emperor Realm soul, he couldn't extend his Spiritual Perception from the Dou Qi Continent all the way into the Great Thousand Worlds.
Fortunately, when the seal surrounding the Dou Qi Continent was lifted, a faint resonance between both realms gave him a thread of guidance. Following that thread, he had managed to avoid being lost within the endless, chaotic Void.
If he had been lost, that would have been the greatest joke of all—"The Azure Lotus Emperor sets off for the Great Thousand Worlds, only to wander the void until perishing in silence…"
What terrified him even more was the spatial turbulence within that void. These raging storms between realms were so violent that even as a Dou Di, he dared not take them lightly.
While he might not have been destroyed outright, if he had been swept into an unknown dimension with no anchor or coordinate to return to, it would have been no different from being lost forever.
He recalled that Xiao Yan had once been separated from Gu Xun'er and Queen Medusa under similar circumstances…
Thankfully, all of that was behind him now.
He had finally reached the world he'd sensed—without a doubt, this was the Great Thousand Worlds.
Yet before he could even feel relieved, Liu Xi realized something terrifying: he had lost his ability to control the power of heaven and earth. Countless techniques instantly became unusable—and even worse, he could no longer fly.
"Damn it all—!"
With a curse, Liu Xi plummeted straight down, face-first, like a meteor. The wind roared in his ears, tearing at what remained of his robes. Though his Dou Di body was impervious to damage, his descent left him looking utterly ridiculous.
As he fell from the heavens, his immense speed ignited the surrounding Spiritual Energy, transforming his descent into a blazing fireball—a celestial meteor streaking toward the mountains below!
Boom!
The impact shook the world. A massive crater opened in the forested valley, flames spreading wildly as the surrounding trees erupted into fire.
Thick smoke billowed skyward as waves of spiritual fire surged across the landscape. Even the dense Spiritual Energy of the Great Thousand Worlds could not easily smother such a blaze. A vast sea of flames threatened to engulf the entire forest.
"Cough, cough…"
From the depths of the crater, a soot-covered Liu Xi slowly pushed himself to his feet, rubbing his waist. Thankfully, his Dou Di body—tempered to the extreme—remained unscathed.
"Damn… so this is what they call a 'Spiritual Energy Calamity'? Not only have I lost my control over heaven and earth, but my Dou Qi is actually dissipating…"
His expression grew solemn. As he circulated his cultivation method, he sensed his Dou Qi leaking from his meridians while streams of a higher, purer energy from the surroundings poured in to replace it.
Spiritual Energy!
It was clashing violently with his Dou Qi within his body—two raging dragons tearing through his meridians. His Dou Qi burned hot and wild, but the invading Spiritual Energy was vastly superior in essence.
The two powers were irreconcilable, battling for dominance within him, rendering him unable to command either one. It was no wonder he could no longer wield heaven and earth—the Great Thousand Worlds rejected his inferior Dou Qi outright.
"I can suppress the conflict by halting my cultivation circulation and forcing out the Spiritual Energy with Dou Qi," he muttered, "but if I do that, I'll never complete the conversion between Dou Qi and Spiritual Energy…"
"This process might take a long time. Maybe I can find a faster method here in the Great Thousand Worlds—but first, where the hell am I?"
He sighed helplessly and turned his gaze skyward.
Before long, he noticed the surrounding forest fire expanding rapidly. The flames had already turned thousands of meters of woodland into an inferno.
Although ordinary fire couldn't harm him, the countless spiritual beasts within the mountains weren't so lucky.
"Burning the mountain down on my first day here? I'll end up a wanted man before I even start…"
With that wry thought, Liu Xi inhaled deeply. A powerful suction erupted from his mouth, forming a mighty vortex that devoured all the fire within a thousand meters, along with the thick Spiritual Energy fueling it.
Moments later, only charred earth and a few lifeless beast corpses remained.
"Good. At least my control over fire hasn't weakened," Liu Xi said, brushing off his hands. "Now then… where should I go next?"
Just then, his eyes flickered—the Bodhisattva Ancient Tree within his body was reaching out to him!
"What? You mean the shackles that once bound you are gone now that we've entered this world…?"
As he spoke, Liu Xi's body flared with light, and a majestic shadow emerged from within him—a miniature Bodhisattva Ancient Tree!
In the next instant, radiant brilliance flooded the area. The Bodhisattva Tree expanded rapidly, taking root in the soil beneath. The earth trembled as thick roots burrowed downward like dragons stirring from their slumber.
The ground quaked as the massive tree greedily absorbed the abundant energy of the land. Its trunk grew thicker, its aura stronger. Compared to Liu Xi's painstaking adaptation, the Bodhisattva Ancient Tree easily attuned itself to the Great Thousand Worlds, converting its power seamlessly.
Before long, the once-miniature Bodhisattva Tree had expanded—ten meters, then a hundred, then a thousand!
Liu Xi retreated swiftly, relying purely on physical strength since his Dou Qi was still unstable. Each step sent shockwaves across the earth as he leapt back, muttering helplessly, "Bodhisattva, we just arrived! Maybe we should explore a bit first, make sure it's safe before you start shaking the heavens?"
The great tree let out a soft, resonant hum, carrying a trace of innocence and joy. Then its aura grew even bolder.
"You're saying this continent's core gathers some special force that's beneficial to you," Liu Xi translated thoughtfully, "and you instinctively rooted yourself here—and there's nothing nearby strong enough to threaten you?"
His expression relaxed. "Alright, that's fine. As long as it's safe…"
He gazed up at the towering tree that was now reaching for the clouds. "A unique power gathered by the continent itself… Could it be the so-called reservoir of pure Spiritual Energy?"
