In the western lands of the Central Plains, deep within a range of nameless mountains, a cold, sinister wind howled ceaselessly. This place had once been an ancient battlefield where supreme experts clashed, annihilating all life and leaving behind nothing but countless bones and deathly silence. Even the bravest mercenaries dared not venture here. Other places might offer one chance in ten to survive—but here, there was none.
In the heart of these mountains lay a massive spatial gate, unguarded by any living sentry. The countless wandering spirits that roamed the area served as its eternal wardens. Beyond that gate was the Hun Realm—the domain of the Hun Clan. To pass through the spectral sea and step into that gate was to court certain death.
Yet today, the sky above was torn open. Vast spatial rifts appeared, and from them marched wave after wave of armored powerhouses. The moment the undead surged to attack, shouts of command erupted. Spears and sabers cleaved through the air, and mighty Dou Qi blasts shattered the encroaching souls to dust.
Finally, from the largest tear in the heavens, Gu Yuan descended, his face solemn, surrounded by his clan's strongest warriors. The Gu Clan's Black Submerged King and Three Gu Immortals, the Yan Clan's Elder Huo Ling and Huo Wu, the Lei Clan's Elder Lei Jie and Lei Dong—all had gathered. These were the final elites of the three ancient clans, come to eradicate the Hun Clan once and for all, or at least cripple them and reclaim the lost Ancient Jades.
Clad in dark armor, Gu Lie stepped forward, bowing respectfully. "Clan Leader, the armies of the three clans stand ready. We await your command to march!"
Gu Yuan nodded slightly, his presence commanding silence. As countless gazes fixed upon him, he spoke in a cold, resonant voice. "A thousand years ago, the Xiao Clan was wiped out. Then followed the Ling Clan, the Shi Clan, and now the Yao Clan. In less than a millennium, the Eight Ancient Clans have lost half their bloodlines."
His expression darkened. "The Lei and Yan Clans have lost their leaders, and my Gu Clan has bled heavily as well. Countless comrades have fallen to the hands of the Hun Clan. Today, we march into the Hun Realm—to avenge our fallen brothers!"
"Vengeance!"
"Vengeance!"
The unified roar shook the skies. The hatred toward the Hun Clan burned fiercely among the three armies, especially within the Lei and Yan Clans, who had suffered unbearable losses during the Medicinal Ceremony disaster.
Their leaders, Lei Jie and Elder Huo Ling, had long agreed with Gu Yuan's plan. The Hun Clan was at its weakest—if left alone now, they would surely rise again. Worse still, they possessed seven, perhaps even all eight, of the Ancient Jades. If Hun Tiandi unraveled their secrets, it would spell catastrophe for all.
The situation was dire, yet now the Hun Clan's 9-Star Dou Saint Void Devouring Flame was gone; their Four Ancestors—Hun Tiansheng, Hun Yuantian, and the rest—were dead; and three of the Four Demon Saints, Hun Sha, Hun Jing, and Hun Yan, had perished as well. The loss of so many powerhouses had nearly gutted the Hun Clan's core.
Most importantly, Hun Tiandi himself was gravely injured and near death. That was what gave Gu Yuan the confidence to invade the Hun Realm directly.
As for Liu Xi—figures like the Yellow Spring Demon Saint and the Pure Lotus Demon Saint had once shaken the continent, forcing even the ancient clans to retreat. But now, they are gone. If they couldn't be fought, they could at least be avoided.
Yet because of the Hun Clan's schemes, half the Eight Ancient Clans had already perished. To the survivors, bloodline preservation was everything—and the Hun Clan had crossed the final line.
Gu Yuan's Dou Qi surged violently, his robes flaring in the wind as he bellowed, "Follow me—into the Hun Realm!"
With a single step, he led the charge. The 9-Star Dou Saint struck first, his figure blurring into countless afterimages as he vanished through the spatial gate. Elder Huo Ling and Elder Lei Jie exchanged glances, then nodded and followed without hesitation. Though both were merely 7-Star Dou Saints, they were the highest power left in their clans—and this battle would decide their future.
The Three Gu Immortals followed closely behind. The three of them, fighting in perfect unison, could contend even against an 8-Star Dou Saint. Behind them surged the armies of the three clans.
Upon entering the Hun Realm, Gu Yuan's eyes sharpened instantly. Just as expected, an enormous array enveloped the gateway plaza. Waves of blood-colored light formed a sky-shrouding dome, and above it hung a chilling blood moon, its glow staining the heavens red. The air reeked of iron and death.
"It's Gu Yuan! Gu Yuan himself has come!" cackled a Hun Clan powerhouse from beyond the barrier. "Activate the formation—kill him!"
A deafening roar erupted as countless Hun Clan experts poured their Dou Qi into the formation. The scarlet barrier pulsed violently, its glow deepening until it radiated raw destruction.
A beam of blood-colored energy crashed downward from the sky, splitting space itself as it thundered toward Gu Yuan.
Gu Yuan's expression remained calm. None of this surprised him. The Hun Clan were no sheep waiting for slaughter—they were starving wolves, and one careless step would spell death.
"Ancient Emperor Mirror!"
He raised his hand, and boundless Dou Qi condensed into a mysterious mirror inscribed with ancient runes. As the bloody beam struck, the mirror absorbed it effortlessly—then, with a flash, reflected it back toward the heavens.
Boom!
The reflected blast slammed into the crimson dome above, sending violent tremors through the array. Outside the formation, numerous Hun Clan fighters spat blood instantly.
"Break!" Gu Yuan roared.
He unleashed his full might as a 9-Star Dou Saint, drawing in the power of heaven and earth. The blood-colored dome shattered like glass.
As the formation collapsed, Gu Yuan surged forward. His Dou Qi erupted like a tidal wave, crushing everything in its path. The formation's backlash tore through the defenders—one 6-Star Dou Saint, two 4-Star Dou Saints, and over a dozen lower-ranked ones were obliterated into nothing but blood mist.
But even that number—so many Dou Saints—was enough to make anyone's blood run cold.
Gu Yuan didn't stop. He continued pressing forward, his every strike annihilating all opposition. Behind him, Elder Huo Ling, Elder Lei Jie, and the Three Gu Immortals entered the fray, their morale soaring at the sight of Gu Yuan's dominance. Each unleashed their own power, scattering into different directions to slaughter any Hun Clan resistance.
Wave after wave of the three clans' armies poured through the gate, flooding the Hun Realm like an unstoppable tide.
With a single palm, Gu Yuan shattered the defenses of another 1-Star Dou Saint, annihilating him and the surrounding Dou Zuns in one blow. The invasion was going smoothly.
Far too smoothly.
A faint unease stirred within Gu Yuan's heart. 'Why hasn't Hun Tiandi appeared? Are his wounds truly that severe… or is something far more dangerous waiting?'
Above, the blood moon still hung motionless in the sky, crimson and cold. The stench of blood filled the realm, and yet… where were the Hun Clan's ordinary clansmen?
Something was terribly wrong.
