Then, thunder rumbled through the heavens. Dark clouds surged across the sky, blotting out the sun as endless lightning arcs writhed within their depths. The heavens themselves seemed enraged by the appearance of such a perfect, man-made divine flame — a power that should not exist in the mortal world.
Where Liu Xi had been seated, his figure was gone. Only the Azure Lotus remained, floating in the air, unyielding beneath the weight of heaven's fury. The lotus radiated divine vitality, ten meters tall, its body of emerald jade burning with gentle firelight. But the heavens would not allow such defiance. Bolts of lightning coiled like dragons within the clouds, their roars shaking the world. The lightning's color darkened from silver-white to pitch black — the Black Demon Lightning, a calamity said to descend only upon 9th Tier Treasure Pills. And yet, even this wasn't the end.
Far away, Xiao Yixian, Zi Yan, and Qing Lin watched in shock. The thunderclouds above the Beast Region stretched for tens of thousands of miles, their dreadful aura spreading north into the Central Plains. Countless powerhouses turned their eyes toward the south, sensing both awe and greed.
The heavens seemed intent on obliterating Liu Xi, yet he remained unmoved. His soul's pressure surged like a sea of fire — if the heavens wished to test him, he would meet them head-on.
The black lightning began to change. From within the darkness, streaks of dazzling gold light burst forth, illuminating the firmament. In an instant, the black storm transformed into a golden sea of clouds — the Nine Mysterious Golden Lightning, the ultimate heavenly tribulation!
A thunderous roar split the sky as a golden lightning dragon descended, slamming directly into the lotus below. The mountains collapsed. The entire peak shattered into dust, fragments scattering across a thousand meters as energy waves scorched the world. In an instant, valleys became canyons and the land cracked open.
And yet, amidst this devastation, the lotus still stood. A faint azure radiance shielded its petals, devouring each strand of lightning like nourishment. The Nine Mysterious Golden Lightning — meant to annihilate — was instead absorbed, refined into the lotus itself.
That was the nature of chaos — to devour all things, to create from destruction.
Strike after strike fell from the golden clouds. Thunder dragons roared, their colossal bodies slamming into the lotus over and over until the entire sky became a blinding ocean of gold. The world trembled. Even 9-Star Dou Saints would have perished under such power, yet the lotus remained, drawing strength from the storm.
For a full day and night, the heavens raged. Then, as dawn broke, the golden clouds dispersed, leaving behind a sky of radiant blue. The mountain peak was gone — only an enormous crater and bottomless ravines remained, crackling with lingering thunder energy.
Above that ruined land, the Azure Lotus still bloomed, pure and untarnished. Its aura now carried an imperial majesty that transcended mortals — not quite that of a Dou Di, yet unmistakably beyond the realm of a 9-Star Dou Saint.
As the last rays of lightning faded, the lotus slowly dissolved into pure flame, which condensed into Liu Xi's human form once more. A glowing lotus mark appeared at his brow, the emblem of his new power.
When he opened his eyes, twin rays of azure light shot forth, piercing the sky. Then he smiled — wide, unrestrained, proud.
"Hahaha…"
His laughter echoed across heaven and earth, bold and unrestrained, filled with joy and triumph. Even from miles away, Xiao Yixian and the others heard it and finally breathed in relief. Liu Xi had done it. He had reached the realm of invincibility.
Then, his voice spread calmly through the empty air.
"Since you're already here, Clan Leader Gu Yuan, why not show yourself?"
Liu Xi's sharp spiritual perception had already detected the faint aura of a 9-Star Dou Saint watching from afar. With the Hun Tiandi gravely injured, only Gu Yuan could possess such power.
