Chapter 539 - Chapter 539: Conspiracy

Within one of the secluded side halls of the Nine Serene Deep Ground Python Tribe, several armored men sat in tense discussion. Their expressions varied — some calm, others brimming with fury.

Suddenly, the leader — a broad, square-faced man radiating authority — shot to his feet. His Dou Qi surged violently as his sharp gaze locked on the entrance. "Who's there?! Stop skulking in the shadows and show yourself!"

The other armored warriors instantly grew alert, forming a defensive formation in perfect synchrony. Their Dou Qi interlinked seamlessly — their combat discipline evident.

With a thunderous bang!, the hall doors were slammed open. Liu Xi stepped inside, his face cold and composed. Flanking him were Xiao Yixian and Qing Lin, both exuding oppressive auras that filled the chamber.

The leader's brow furrowed. His instincts screamed danger — none of the three before him were ordinary. Even so, he tried to maintain his composure, letting his tone harden.

"I am a commander of the Ancient Void Dragon Tribe! If you value your lives, leave now. Otherwise, I'll summon the Nine Serene Ground Python Tribe's power to crush you all!"

Liu Xi smirked faintly, a flash of mockery and disdain in his eyes.

"Then call them. Scream till your throat breaks — let's see if anyone actually comes to your rescue."

Even if the man did call, Liu Xi had no fear. Before entering, he had already sealed the entire side hall with layers of Spiritual Power and Dou Qi. No sound or signal could escape.

"Courting death!" the commander roared, face reddening with fury and humiliation. His Dou Qi surged again as he lunged toward Liu Xi, his men joining in seamless unison — a move that, on the surface, seemed both offensive and… strategic.

Commander's inner thought: "I'm being attacked! Someone come save me already—!"

But he would be sorely disappointed. Liu Xi's spatial barrier had locked down every inch of the area; no one outside could possibly sense the disturbance.

As the group charged, Liu Xi sneered. Raising his palm, an invisible wave of power erupted from him. Instantly, the surrounding space solidified like ice. The commander and his men froze mid-motion, bodies and Dou Qi suspended in place.

To use spatial power to restrain those of the Ancient Void Dragon bloodline — experts famed for mastering space — this could only mean one thing: the man before them was a Dou Saint.

Liu Xi stepped forward, his tone chilling, eyes glinting coldly.

"I don't have time to waste. Speak — what's happening within the Ancient Void Dragon Tribe? How is the Dragon Emperor? Are the three rebel Dragon Kings dead yet?"

The commander's eyes bulged in disbelief. The Dragon Tribe's internal civil war — the existence of one Dragon Emperor and three Dragon Kings — was a top-secret matter. How did this outsider know?

"Even if you're a Dou Saint," the man snarled, "you'll regret touching me! The Ancient Void Dragon Tribe will hunt you to the ends of the world!"

"Stubborn fool."

Liu Xi flicked a finger. Thin blades of compressed air shot out, piercing the commander's armor. Blood splattered instantly, several wounds blooming across his chest.

"The blood of dragons… You should understand what it means. Watch it flow, feel it leave you — tell me, how long do you think you can last?"

His voice was calm, yet the weight of it crushed the room. The commander's defiance faltered as his face drained of color. Tremors rippled through his frame as panic began to devour his pride.

Moments later, the once-imposing figure was pale and shaking, his power bleeding away with his blood. Once a dragon loses its bloodline strength, even recovery is meaningless — its power forever crippled.

"You… you devil!" he croaked, trembling violently.

Liu Xi smiled coldly. "Devil? Then speak, the devil's your only savior today." His gaze sharpened, voice pressing like blades into the man's mind. "Say it. Say it. Or… say it."

The repetition shattered the commander's will. He gasped, voice trembling, "The East Dragon Island's Dragon Emperor returned… with the Dragon Seal! The armies sent to suppress her turned traitor under its radiance…"

"What?" Liu Xi's eyes narrowed.

"N-no, it's not betrayal! The Dragon Kings said she's no true royal, that she stole the Dragon Seal! They said we're only restoring order — eliminating a pretender — unifying the Dragon Tribe!"

Liu Xi's lips curved in disgust. "Unifying, by dividing? Hypocrites."

He immediately recognized whose schemes lay behind this — the insidious Northern Dragon King. Ruthless, cunning, and utterly vile. The same one who had once sacrificed two entire Dragon Islands to further his ambition.

Feigning calm, Liu Xi continued in a deceptively soft tone. "So the Dragon Kings, too cowardly to face the Dragon Emperor, sent you to ally with the Nine Serene Ground Python Tribe. To beg for help, right?"

The commander, still locked in spatial stasis, hesitated before nodding reluctantly.

"Yes… The North Dragon King said it's all for the Dragon Tribe. He'll bear all the sins if it means unifying our kind— to prevent a thief from sitting on the throne."

"Disgusting," Qing Lin muttered, her lip curling. "Anyone can see that Sister Zi Yan is the rightful Dragon Emperor. Those idiots are just blind."

Xiao Yixian frowned as well, unable to contain her disdain.

Liu Xi, however, merely chuckled — low and cold. "A clever tyrant indeed. Ruthless enough to shoulder the blame himself, hypocritical enough to inspire loyalty. No wonder he still has followers even now."

His eyes hardened, killing intent flickering beneath the calm. "But in the end, this is the Dou Qi Continent. Strength decides everything. No scheme or rhetoric will save them."

Compared to Zi Yan, the so-called Dragon Kings — bloodlines incomplete and power diminished — were nothing. Under the radiance of the Dragon Seal, they would crumble.

Their era was over.

"The three Dragon Kings will fall," Liu Xi said softly, eyes gleaming with quiet fury. "Now tell me — did the Nine Serene Ground Python Tribe agree? Or the Heaven Demon Phoenix Tribe? Have they taken the bait?"
