A deafening boom resounded as the solid mountainside split apart. A towering golden giant, nearly ten zhang tall, burst out from the fractured stone, his entire body gleaming like forged metal. Each step he took shook the earth and sky, his presence alone causing the very air to tremble. Ripples of force spread outward in waves, distorting the void with every movement.
"What in the world is that?"
The pressure rolling off the golden figure made the entire Yunlan Mountain tremble. Elders and disciples alike scrambled out of their courtyards, their expressions frozen between awe and terror as they stared at the colossal being emerging from the rear mountain. Most of them were only at the Dou Zong level, and even the few Dou Zuns among them felt their scalps go numb — the aura this giant emitted was enough to crush them with a single breath.
Fortunately, three familiar figures soon appeared in the air — Yun Yun, Qing Lin, and Xiao Yixian. Their presence brought the crowd a measure of relief.
After all, Xiao Yixian was a Dou Saint. Ever since her battle at Ghostly Poison Swamp, no one in the Northwest Region had dared challenge the Heavenly Alliance. Her reputation alone kept countless factions in trembling obedience.
"Ah—! That's the King Kong Glass Body? Young Master's gotten so big… and so hard!" Qing Lin's beautiful eyes widened in disbelief. She had been there when Liu Xi acquired that technique, and even she hadn't imagined it could manifest in such a terrifying form.
"So it really is him…" Xiao Yixian exhaled softly, the crushing pressure lifting from her chest. Even for her, the golden giant's aura had been nearly unbearable.
Yun Yun stood frozen, her elegant poise faltering for once. Only now did she truly grasp how overwhelming Liu Xi's strength had become.
"Nine zhang and nine chi… the perfect height of the King Kong Glass Body. I knew I was the perfect fit for this technique."
As his voice rumbled through the mountain, the golden giant's form began to shrink. In the blink of an eye, the enormous figure condensed back into the familiar silhouette of a young man in azure robes, his eyes glinting with quiet amusement as he hovered in midair.
Noticing the commotion he'd caused across the Heavenly Alliance headquarters, Liu Xi raised his voice with a light chuckle. "It's me. Everyone may return to their duties. Yanran, come handle the cleanup before rumors start."
"Yes, Alliance Leader." Nalan Yanran appeared swiftly, her expression complicated as she gazed at him. Despite her years of progress, the gap between them had only widened further.
"Everyone, disperse!" she commanded.
Even the most stubborn disciples obeyed immediately. After all, seeing their Alliance Leader transform into a sky-splitting golden giant was more than enough excitement for one day.
Liu Xi turned and gestured toward the distant sky. Yun Yun, Qing Lin, and Xiao Yixian exchanged a look before silently following him toward the mountain's summit.
Before long, the four stood together atop the peak. Liu Xi swept his gaze over them, his eyes flickering with both surprise and pride.
Yun Yun's aura had stabilized at the 4-Star Dou Zun level — clearly, the previous batch of pills had done their work. With time and resources, she could very well reach Half Saint within a few years. Qing Lin's beauty carried a dangerous edge now; since her breakthrough to the Half Saint realm, her connection to the Ancient Heavenly Serpent bloodline had deepened, the faint scent of blood and temptation mingling in her aura. Xiao Yixian, though not yet at 2-Star Dou Saint, was close — her strength had clearly grown since their last dual cultivation and exchange of Heavenly Flame essence.
Liu Xi smiled faintly. "It's time for us to leave."
"Leave?" Yun Yun's voice trembled before softening into quiet understanding. Her eyes dimmed, filled with unspoken emotion.
"I'm coming with you!" Xiao Yixian and Qing Lin said in unison.
"Of course," Liu Xi replied with a nod. "That's why I called you. Yun'er, I'll be leaving the Jia Ma Empire in your hands."
Yun Yun's gentle face glowed with warmth. "Go without worry. I'll protect the Heavenly Alliance — as long as I live, it will never fall. And… I'll wait for you to return."
Liu Xi laughed heartily, the sound echoing through the mountain air. "There's no need for such heavy words. The Heavenly Alliance exists to protect you. If you're not here, even if it survives, it would have lost its meaning!"
He paused, then grinned. "Besides, I will leave you a little gift."
With a wave of his sleeve, a flash of light struck the ground, revealing a mangled corpse — and in his hand, a crystal-clear monster core flickered with red and azure light.
"This is the corpse of the Hall of Souls Half Saint, Gu You, and this," Liu Xi said, lifting the core, "is the monster core of the Heaven Demon Phoenix's Elder Ying Huang. Together, they can forge a Dou Saint Heavenly Demon Puppet."
The women gasped. Even Yun Yun, normally composed, felt her knees weaken. A Dou Saint… reduced to a material for refinement.
Qing Lin blinked and whispered, half in awe and half teasingly, "He gives Sister Yun Yun the best gifts again…"
Liu Xi chuckled. "Qing Lin, Xian'er — help me guard this area. I'll refine it now."
He sat cross-legged, setting the monster core aside before summoning his azure flame. The corpse ignited instantly, a faint scream echoing as the flames devoured what remained of Gu You's soul. Liu Xi ignored it completely.
For three days, the sky above Yunlan Mountain burned azure. The scent of molten metal soon filled the air as rare ores melted together into bronze fluid, fusing under Liu Xi's precise control. Then came the critical step — merging the corpse, the soul, and the monster core into one vessel of war.
Half a month later, a massive purple puppet knelt before them, radiating cold killing intent. Its eyes gleamed faintly, empty yet alive.
Yun Yun stepped forward, pricking her finger and letting a drop of blood imbued with Spiritual Power fall upon its forehead. In an instant, the puppet bowed deeply before her — her very own Dou Saint realm guardian.
She didn't look at the puppet, though. Her gaze lingered only on Liu Xi, her eyes shimmering with tender warmth.
"Sleep together, sleep together!" Qing Lin sang playfully, grinning as Xiao Yixian tugged her sleeve.
"Enough teasing," Xiao Yixian said with a smirk, pulling the mischievous girl away. "We'll leave the rest of the night to them."
As the two vanished in a flash of light, silence descended upon the mountaintop.
"What a pity…" Liu Xi sighed dramatically — then smiled wickedly, turning toward Yun Yun. "Yun'er, shall we…"
Her face flushed crimson. "Mm…" she breathed softly.
The rest of her words dissolved into whispers lost beneath the rising wind.
