Chapter 451 - Chapter 451: Erasing the Remnant Wil

At the center of the high platform, the crystalline remains of the Dou Saint began to stir. From within the jade-like bones, a faint remnant will awakened, and dim light flickered deep within its hollow eye sockets.

Though once a Dou Saint, countless years had passed since its fall — the body long devoid of life. For such a corpse to move again, it would need something special to reignite its vitality.

That substance, Liu Xi guessed, could only be living blood. The essence of life flowing through flesh and veins was the key that could awaken the dead bones, restoring a spark of motion.

Would he offer it? Of course not.

If his suspicions were right, the Dou Saint had already left behind a deadly mechanism — one that would activate the moment anyone drew too close, draining their blood to fuel its resurrection.

"Young Master, what should we do?" Qing Lin's tone trembled slightly. Even as she asked, her aura swelled — ready to release the Ancient Heaven Serpent's power at any moment. The mere pressure from the remnant's presence made her heart race.

That faint thought from the bones carried an overwhelming will. Even this fragment alone felt like a force capable of suppressing the heavens. To imagine the true power of a complete Dou Saint was terrifying beyond words.

Zi Yan's expression tightened as well. Her sharp mind raced for a way to counter the awakening presence. Against a Dou Saint, escape itself seemed uncertain.

Liu Xi inhaled deeply. "We can't face a Dou Saint head-on," he muttered. The only power that could possibly match it was the Blood Crystal left behind by Zhu Kun — a desperate measure reserved for life-or-death moments.

He stepped forward, shielding Zi Yan and Qing Lin behind him. His voice dropped low. "Leave it to me. As long as it's just a remnant will and not a full resurrection, I still have a way to deal with it."

He raised his right hand, channeling Dou Qi, Heavenly Flame, and Spiritual Power in perfect harmony. The three forces intertwined at his fingertip, condensing into a single, ominous black dot no larger than a grain of rice — yet one that pulsed with devastating power.

The Dou Saint's remnant will was too dangerous to leave unchecked. If this didn't work, he might be forced to use the Blood Crystal.

But Liu Xi had one ultimate technique — a Tian Class Dou Technique he had personally developed, combining his Dou Qi, flame, and spirit: Annihilation Finger.

"Senior," he said quietly, staring at the bones, "You've already fallen. Why wake up again? Let dust return to dust, earth to earth. Rest in peace."

As his words faded, the black dot swelled rapidly, expanding until it became a massive, swirling orb — a miniature black sun that devoured the light around it.

Zi Yan and Qing Lin instinctively retreated several steps. Their faces paled as they stared at the abyssal sphere — its darkness so deep it seemed to consume even the soul.

"A Tian Class Dou Technique…" Zi Yan whispered, eyes wide. Relief flickered in her gaze. A Dou Technique of that level could allow even a Dou Zun to contend with a Half Saint.

Qing Lin, too, loosened her tense grip, letting her killing intent subside as she steadied her breathing.

Meanwhile, the Dou Saint's skeleton rattled violently, its bones creaking as if ready to stand — but the body remained still.

Instead, a faint, translucent figure emerged from within the bones — wreathed in a pale, eerie glow.

He was tall and thin, with sharp features and flowing white hair. His expression was cold, his eyes emotionless, carrying an aura that once commanded the heavens. Though only a remnant, he exuded the pride of an invincible being who once ruled the continent.

Yet trapped within the shell of death, even a Dou Saint's remnant had limited power to wield.

"Annihilation Finger."

Liu Xi's voice was calm but resolute. The black sun left his hand, streaking through the air toward the spectral figure who seemed to command the entire hall with his mere presence.

The backlash struck instantly. Liu Xi staggered, pale-faced, and nearly fell. Zi Yan and Qing Lin rushed forward from both sides to support him, their eyes filled with concern.

"Big Brother!"

"Young Master! Are you alright?"

"I'm fine," Liu Xi said through gritted teeth. "Keep your eyes ahead."

The Annihilation Sphere tore through space itself, leaving jagged black cracks in its wake. The air screamed as it passed, devouring everything in its path.

In a single breath, it reached the skeletal throne.

The Dou Saint's remains shuddered, the echoing clatter of bones filling the hall. Then, the remnant spirit separated from the body, rising high above.

Its ancient gaze met Liu Xi's for a single heartbeat — a silent acknowledgment — before a colossal palm materialized, infused with heaven's might. The strike carried enough force to annihilate any Dou Zun on the spot.

Zzzz!

There was no deafening explosion, only the sickening sound of space itself tearing apart. The entire platform shattered like a broken mirror, collapsing into a swirling void.

Liu Xi's body trembled as he fixed his gaze forward. 'Will it work?' He had poured nearly all of his strength into that attack. If it failed, they were finished.

The black sun advanced slowly, devouring everything it touched. The remnant palm disintegrated first, then the arm, the shoulders, and finally the entire phantom form. The light within the skeletal remains dimmed as the black sun swallowed it whole.

When at last the darkness faded, the distorted void healed itself.

Where the high platform once stood, only a massive pit remained. Within it lay the Dou Saint's bones — scattered and lifeless. The white jade glow of the bones still shimmered faintly, uncorrupted by even a Tian Class Dou Technique. But the will within… was gone forever.

"It's over!" Qing Lin cried, relief bright in her voice. Her admiration toward Liu Xi only deepened.

Liu Xi let out a tired laugh, his body drained of Dou Qi. 'It's fortunate,' he thought, 'that it never fully awakened. If it had, I wouldn't have stood a chance.'

He swallowed a recovery pill and steadied his breathing, the hollow emptiness of exhaustion gnawing at his core.

"Big Brother, rest a bit. I'll gather the remains." Zi Yan stepped forward, volunteering eagerly.

But Liu Xi reached out and stopped her. "No. Don't go near it — we can't be sure there are no lingering traps. Let the Heaven Demon Puppets handle it."

At his command, two Heaven Demon Puppets strode forward — one collecting the ten hovering light clusters, the other descending into the pit to retrieve the scattered bones.

The orbs pulsed faintly — each one holding an ancient treasure. Dou Techniques, Qi Methods, rare pills — all of high grade. Among them were manuals for refining both Human and Heaven Demon Puppets.

Liu Xi couldn't help but sigh in awe. "The ancients were truly ruthless… using living souls to forge puppets. No wonder the art flourished in their time."

The second puppet climbed back up, carrying the Dou Saint's bones. Liu Xi immediately noticed three of the ribs glowing faintly with an ethereal white light — clearly special remnants of the Dou Saint's power.

Once he gathered everything of value — the relics, techniques, and bones — Liu Xi knew it was time to leave.

If word ever spread that he was the one who emptied the Dou Saint's Relic, every major faction on the continent would hunt him to the ends of the earth.
