Caroline paced the living room like a caged animal, eyes glued to her phone. She kept refreshing it, waiting for any update from the men she had planted at the hospital.
The Housley house had felt dark and heavy ever since Raya was born.
But now, a sharp little smile tugged at her lips. That suffocating quiet might finally break.
Viona had a child with Roman?
The thought made her almost giddy. She could already see how she'd twist that secret into leverage, maybe enough to get Dimitri Island back on their side.
"Wife, where have you been all morning?"
Raymond's voice cut through her thoughts.
Caroline didn't even bother turning around. She rolled her eyes. "None of your business."
She flopped onto the sofa and switched on the TV, but her wary eyes kept darting back to the phone screen.
Raymond walked over and sat beside her, looking tired. "You're not stirring up trouble again, are you? Roman told me to watch you, not letting you leave the house—"
