War!
Even before coming here, Tver had already guessed that Voldemort could not possibly have gone to all this trouble just to create a single murder case.
But when Marvolio truly heard that answer from Quéops's mouth, he still stood up in shock.
"Master?" Quéops asked in confusion.
What was there to be shocked about? You were the one who told me to do this before!
Of course, the specific plan had been Quéops's own idea. After all, Voldemort could not possibly have allowed him to act so brazenly just to provoke the Muggles, especially when facing Tver...
"I am not your master." Marvolio dropped the act and laid his cards on the table. "You Death Eaters who love calling people master can stay in prison where you belong."
As he restored his original face and build, he strode toward the door.
To cooperate with the performance, Tver had been waiting outside the whole time, guarding against any unexpected situation.
Of course, there was no need to keep acting now.
"You're not the Dark Lord?! Who are you?"
Staring at Marvolio's shifting face, Quéops tried to recognize him for a while. Only when the door was pushed open and the streetlight shone in did he finally make out his appearance.
"Wait, you're that lackey beside Fawley!"
Marvolio could not tolerate that. He turned straight back, and Quéops, who was tugging at him, suddenly saw a fist the size of a cooking pot appear before his eyes.
"I'm fucking Superman!"
Bang.
"What happened?"
The darkness rippled, and Tver's body slowly emerged. He frowned at Quéops, who was lying flat on his back, clearly hit by the physical version of Stupefy.
Although Marvolio could sometimes be careless and loud, when it came to critical moments, he was surprisingly reliable.
If he had abandoned the original plan and attacked Quéops, then something unexpected must have happened, something serious enough to make him do so.
"Voldemort wants to start a war." Marvolio calmly withdrew his fist and shook his hand with disdain, as if mocking how fragile Quéops was.
"He's already doing that."
"No. He doesn't just want to start a war among wizards." He turned to Tver with a grave expression. "He wants to stir up conflict between Muggle governments and the magical world, and trigger a war between the two worlds."
Tver's examination of Quéops immediately stopped. A realization seemed to dawn on him, but he was also shocked by the viciousness of Voldemort's plan.
Seeing that Tver understood what he meant, Marvolio told him everything Quéops had just revealed.
Tver slowly came to understand his, or rather, Voldemort's intentions.
For the old Voldemort at the height of his power, the only person in the magical world, or even the entire world, who could stop him was Dumbledore.
So he did not mind spending all his time and energy on the people and matters that threatened him.
That was why, in both wizarding wars, Voldemort had first targeted Dumbledore. Once Dumbledore was dead, his target became Harry, the one prophesied to defeat him and the one who had caused his defeat in the first war.
But now, everything was different.
Tver's sudden rise had not only strengthened the mid-to-high-level fighting power on Dumbledore's side, but had even formed an alliance-like office, fundamentally reducing Voldemort's chances of success.
To put it pessimistically, even if Voldemort were absurdly lucky and somehow defeated powerful fighters like Dumbledore and Tver, the Joint Operations Offices spread across the world would still stand up and resist his evil rule.
In that case, there was only one direction left for Voldemort to attack.
"I strongly suspect that he not only wants to start a war between wizards and Muggles, but even wants to trigger a world war!"
"Wow," Marvolio said, either amazed or impressed. "That really is him."
"Stop saying wow. Hurry up and clean this up. We need to think of a way to respond." Tver kicked him irritably.
Voldemort had become this ruthless, and you were still proud?
"Voldemort couldn't have arranged only one Head of Department from the Greek Ministry of Magic to carry out a task like this. The leader of any country in the world could be his target!"
"What does that have to do with me..."
Marvolio muttered quietly, but when he saw Tver's narrowed eyes, he immediately became solemn.
"I mean, how should we deal with Quéops, and how should we explain this to the Muggle government?"
That was indeed a problem. The Greek Ministry of Magic's failure was undeniable, but suddenly losing a Head of Department, especially after discovering that the Ministry of Magic had been infiltrated by a Death Eater for so many years, was not something they could withstand as easily as the British Ministry of Magic.
If they then admitted their mistake in front of the Muggle government, the morale of the Ministry of Magic's Aurors would definitely take a heavy blow first.
So playing both sides looked simple on the surface, but putting it into practice was much harder.
Tver had to think for a while.
"Let's push this onto Voldemort. After all, calling him the mastermind isn't wrong."
"We'll say directly that those people were bewitched by Voldemort and wanted to sabotage relations between the two sides, causing a war."
"As long as those in power aren't stupid, they won't start a conflict and let Voldemort get his way."
With Voldemort standing in front as the culprit, both the Ministry of Magic and the Muggle government became victims. One side had lost a Head of Department who was actually a Death Eater and several Aurors. The other side had lost several elite agents, and the Prime Minister had been frightened into caution. It was hard to say which side had suffered worse.
Naturally, all that anger would be turned onto Voldemort.
"Voldemort really has had eight lifetimes of bad luck running into you."
Marvolio waved his wand at the still-unconscious Quéops with disdain, lifting him like a puppet.
Before Tver could raise his foot, he hurriedly asked, "Then what about the other countries? Are you going to wait until Voldemort's arrangements happen each time, then run over to clean up the mess?"
"Of course not. I'm not the world's nanny!"
Tver still raised his foot and gave Marvolio a kick before saying with satisfaction, "Protection and communication mechanisms definitely have to be strengthened. But those in power already have ways to do that. We only need to provide magical power."
Seeing Tver's somewhat troubled expression, Marvolio teased, "Only?"
"Shut up!"
