Chapter 42 - Chapter 41

"Love all, trust a few,

Do wrong to none: be able for thine enemy

Rather in power than use; and keep thy friend

Under thy own life's key: be check'd for silence,

But never tax'd for speech."

― William Shakespeare, All's Well That Ends Well

~One day before the death of Grace (Oblita)~

"What was that about?". Shimon said standing up. Agustin remained silent with his head hung low. Which even angered Shimon even more. For all the things Agustin achieved he became ambitious towards their goal of dethroning Decimis. Never would he think he would see the day where Agustin would be overcome with shame. Shimon sighed. "Why would you do that?". Shimon asked.

"Did you not think of what would happen if you ruined Canary's reputation that would ruin our business"! Shimon shouted. "You didn't like her enough to do all that". "You don't know how much I liked her, why do you all keep saying that"! Agustin yelled. Shimon took a step forward and got in Agustin's face. "You are acting like a spoiled brat!" Shimon said. "You could've ruined everything by what you just did, who would want to buy or invest in our business if you would've continued with your plans running around with hoodlums". Shimon said.

Shimon grabbed Agustin's shirt with both of his hands and shook him. "Get your act together"! Shimon said "Or what"? Agustin replied. "Never would I think I would have to let go of a friend". Shimon said. He let go of Agustin and sighed. "You keep going the way you are going and I will abandon you. This is the life of my wife and unborn child we're talking about here, one wrong move and we're done. Do you think the king won't kill an unborn child"? Shimon said. "Look at what he did to my mother who had just given birth". "He will surely not spare my wife and child even if my child is his own blood".

"You don't think". Shimon said. "You didn't even consider what would happen if you went through with that plan, how many lives would be ruined all because you couldn't get off your high horse and was threatened by some foreign prince"! Shimon shouted. His anger began to rise back up inside him but he composed himself and calmed down. "I shall talk to you later when I am calmed down". Shimon said. "Think about what I just said". Shimon and Agustin both left at the same time but Shimon took another route not wanting to be next to Agustin at the moment. Agustin walked away in silence and heaviness. He didn't know what move he would make next. He began to consider perhaps he was being too ambitious. That maybe this was the real reason he had lost Canary. He was left alone with his thoughts and regret.

Meanwhile Shayan arrived at the Longwood residence with a huge bouquet of flowers and a huge cheesy grin on his face. He nodded to the servant standing at the door while Canary ran down the stairs flustered at Shayan's sudden arrival. "Shayan". Canary said out of breath. "Canary"! Shayan smiled. "Comgraulations on you disengagement"! He smiled, handing her the bouquet of flowers. The bouquet of flowers was almost as big as Canary was. Her face was covered and she stared at Shayan from the side of the bouquet. "Thank you". She giggled and handed the bouquet over to a servant. "Could you put these in a vase?". She said, "Multiple vases you mean"? The servant joked.

"Come along". Canary said. "That pup of a man visited me". Shayn aid suddenly speaking in Plyeres. "Agustin"? Canary replied in Plyeres also. Shayan nodded."Turns out the rumors were indeed true he meant to ruin your reputation". Shayan said. Canary was bewildered and stammered over her words. "What"? Canary said. Numa nodded and the three of them sat down in the drawing room.

"Why would he do such a thing"? Canary said. "He didn't explain why". Shayan said. "But I have made it very clear that he will not be doing business with you any longer and if it wasn't for Crown Prince Shimon I wouldn't be doing this treaty with them".  Shayan said. He sighed and sat back in his chair. Canary could not find any words to say so she remained quiet. They all remained quiet and none could find the words to say next. "And Sealed lips"? Canary finally said. Both Numa and Shayan shook their heads.

"We could not find any information on the person nor did Duke Abarca say anything about Sealed Lips once we mentioned them". Shayan said. "Let's move on from depressing matters". Shayan said, reverting back to Granian. "We can continue to talk in Plyeres or Lyikarian if you are not comfortable speaking in Granian". Canary said. Shayan shook his head no. "No, I need to polish up my Granian". Shayan said. "On a side note the shores of Lyikar will soon welcome you". Shayan smiled.

Canary and Numa also smiled also. "And maybe we shall keep our promise from when we were younger"? Shayan said, making a cheesy face. Canary chuckled. "Way to put up my mood". Canary said. "But I am serious". Shayan "Sure you are". Canary said.

No matter if Canary wanted to believe the words of Shayan the words of Agustin had seeped deep into her and Canary hadn't known what this had done to her. For when Shayan had said these words her heart somewhat fluttered for a moment and then the words of Agustin echoed into her head and choked the words of Shayan.

Especially now that Shayan was a crown prince Canary who dabbled herself down to being unworthy of being a crown princess. Surely there was someone out there more suited to become Shayan's wife.

But Shayan himself did not think anyone better to be his wife than Canary. For when they were children he held on to this dream of being Canary's husband. When he had left he had yearned to come back to her side. These dreams fell away when Canary moved to Grania and for a moment he had thought that he had chance all for it to be snuffed out by Agustin's revealing to be Canary's fiancée.

A opportunity had presented itself with the breaking off of their engagement and Shayan would not let it go to waste. He would win Canary's hand.

"Shall we all go together for the ball". Shayan asked. "Do we have to match colors my aunt has my dress made already". Canary said. "As I". Numa said questioning Shayan's motives. "Of course not"! Shayan chuckled.

"But what color are you wearing might I ask". Shayan said. "Purple". Canary said "Numa is wearing white and I am wearing blue purple would pair well with our colors". Shayan grinned. "I thought we weren't matching". Numa raised his eyebrow.

"We aren't but a nice little gem of flower shall tie us all together". Shayan smiled. Numa and Canary looked at each other and shrugged. "It wouldn't hurt I guess". Numa said.
