The screams of others echoed in Canary's ears as she awoke from her slumber. But when she awoke everything was quiet and she was alone. No servant, not even her handmaid, was in the room with her. It was dark and yet a faint cry could be heard..or many Canary did not know. She just knew she heard a scream and she opened her bedroom door to partially empty hallway. Just a guard was there at the end of it and he turned to Canary to see what the matter was.

She shook her head seeing that it was nothing and closed her bedroom door and headed to the window to see if it truly was nothing. But before she could get to the window a loud boom stopped her in her tracks and the blaze of fire and smoke arose in the window. Canary's already golden brown eyes lit up even more making them seem as if they were silver. And she ran to her bedroom door in haste. "Elden"! She yelled opening up the door. "Elden something is happening"! She yelled the guards name.

"I've heard my lady"! Elden shouted, running towards Canary. "Quickly we must-"! But before Elden could reach Canary he too burst into flames along with the hallway before Canary's very eyes. An explosion and she was blown back into her bedroom door. It did not knock Canary unconscious thankfully. She raised up her head to see fire in front of her and her only escape was the window next to her.

She struggled to stand up and ran to the window that was high from the ground and looked back in terror at the fire that was growing ever close to her. She breathing heavy and stared down at the bushes below her and decided that it was now or never for her to jump out this window or die in the fire and so she did. Jumping out of that tall window and landing in the bushes.

She fell in the bushes with a great grunt. Her nightgown ripped in different places and bleeding from the branches in the bush and she looked to the sky and it was alight with smoke and fire. The screams that she's had heard were distant and she began to realize that it was not just the Whitewood estate that was on fire but Roger estates too.

That the distant screams had become her own estates screams and she had yet to escape from the Whitewood estate for the Whitewood country estate was large large enough to be the head estate on its own and each living quarter had their own garden and Canary was in hers watching as her flowers and plants were on fire.

She began to walk limping hoping that the way out of the garden too wasn't on fire and when she had gotten to the gate that led to the main estate dread overcame her for the main estate too was on fire. "What is going on"? She trembled.

The screaming only grew louder as she made her way into the main estate with the halls on fire and soon the wooden beams began to fall and she yelled and cried out for anyone or anybody. She began to cough stumbling her way through smoke and when she finally found her way out of the smoke it was not anyone she was expecting. No it was Amara who was stumbling herself from all the fire and smoke. "Amara"! Canary screamed and ran to her. "Canary". Amara said with relief.

They hugged each other and it was for one of the first time in a long time that they had hugged. "I can't find anyone". Amara cried. "Not mother nor father". Canary nodded agreeing with Amara. They stopped hugging and Amara looked at Canary's tattled nightgown and all the scratches and blood on Canary. "What happened"? Amara asked. "I had to jump out of a window". Canary sadly chuckled. "A window-". "We have to find mother and father and get out of here". Canary said.

Amara nodded and they tried to find their way through the fire and smoke. Not knowing that they were alone in the house, Agustin,Eddison, and the wolf family who had been visiting late that night had helped them get out of the house. The only people they had come across were dead bodies which after the first three they had seen they began to grow numb to it.

"Canary"? Thomas had said, looking around. "Amara and Canary aren't out here". Eddison yelled coming back to his father after doing a head count. They all stopped and stared at the estate that was on fire. No one was saying it but they all were thinking it. Who would go back into there? Though the other mansions that was on fire were small it was easier to get people out of there but the Whitewood estate….The Whitewood estate was huge. Who's going back in? They could hear the clock ticking in their head.

Thomas began to run in but was stopped by Eddison who held him back. Stellan and Agustin ran in instead and Eddison followed in after them. "Eddison"! Alexia screamed after him. But he was gone. All three of them were. The fire had not yet spread to the doors closer to the main entrance but as they got further into the estate more and more smoke came and they began to cover their noses with their shirts. "Canary"! Eddison yelled. "Amara"! There was no answer. And they began to jump at the bodies of fallen servants.

Scared they began to check each face of the servants making their way through the smoke and fire. They came across the staircase that had collapsed and upon the banister were two figures they could make out. Looking down at them at the fallen staircase. "Amara? Canary"?! Eddison yelled desperately. Their faces looked towards Eddison and the others and they began to wave their hands at them. "The staircase is gone"! Amara yelled. "We don't know how to get down".

"Jump"! Stellan said, running towards the banister. "No"! Eddison and Agustin yelled. "Either one of you guys could get hurt trying to catch them from that height. How are we supposed to get them out? If most of us are hurt we might need to make a run or jump out of a window ourselves". Agustin explained. "The servant stairs"? Eddison said. "Did you go past the kitchen, was it on fire"? Eddison asked. The girl shook their heads no. "Try to make for the servant stairwell we will meet you there and find a way out". They all nodded and the girl disappeared into the smoke.

"How are we supposed to make it to the servant stairwell if part of the lower estate is on fire too". Stellan snarled. Eddison sighed. "We shall find a way let us go". The boys too made their way towards the servant stairwell. And on their way they began to come across even more bodies of servants. Agustin began to frown as he examined some of the servants. "What is it Auggy"? Eddison asked. Agustin shook his head I don't know yet but something isn't right about this". He said stepping away from the dead body.

"We have to go". Stellan said, drawing their attention away from Agustin's worry. "We can figure that out later for now we have to-". Before Stellan could finish his sentence a cry was heard coming from the kitchen area and the boys began to run after it. They made their way to the kitchen and when Agustin went to open the door the doorknob burned his hand. "The door won't open"! Amara's voice yelled from the other side. "Kick it down"! Stellam yelled at Eddison and Agustin and they began to kick at the door.

"Move back"! Eddison yelled. On the other side of the door was Amara and Canary coughing from all the smoke filling the kitchen. The servants' stairwell had also collapsed. in fact the way that boys had come from was also now on fire. The door was finally kicked open and Eddison grabbed the two girls pulling them out of the kitchen. They stopped and stared at the fire before them and looked behind them to no fire. "We have to go through the main garden then". Eddison said.

And they all began to run towards the main garden ducking from the wooden beams that began to fall down all around them. "Almost there"! Eddison yelled. "Keep going"! But Amara was out of breath her legs weak from all the running she had just done with Canary before meeting them. A good thing to remember about adrenaline is that it always runs out at some point of a time. And when it does and the straining of muscle and other things that you aren't used to begin to ache and burn with pain you slow down at the most important point. Amara's lungs felt like they were on fire from the smoke and running.

She began to slow down limping and bent over as she was running and unable to see properly. She didn't dodge the fallen beam that everyone else had avoided and so she tripped and fell. She let out a yelp which grabbed Stellan and Canary's attention who was at the back of the group running. "Amara'! Canary yelled and hurried over to help her get up. Stellan also went and with something that should have been easy for them to stand up, a small thing like Amara seemed difficult at that moment.

Was it the exhaustion from running? Perhaps the pain of jumping out of that window had finally caught up to Canary but they struggled to get Amara up to her feet. And crack and creaking had come from above their heads. They all seemed to look up at the same time, even Eddison and Agustin who noticed that the three weren't following them.

As if it was natural instinct the left over beams that hadn't fallen yet began to crack and crumble and in an instant Canary pushed Stellan and Amara forward out of the way and not moving herself and Stellan not letting go of her hand both her and stellan were caught under the burning wooden beams.
