Chapter 39 - A Full Stop

Hojo's steps came to a halt when he heard that familiar voice from his back.

He turned around and saw two more people standing beside Satoru Gojo.

Michizane, who was a sorcerer from ancient times, was staring at the machines that were fitted inside the room.

He had heard about them from Gojo, but seeing them with his own eyes was a very different kind of experience.

On his left, Izumi continued to glare at Hojo before turning his head away when their eyes met.

Izumi took a deep breath and seemed to be enjoying it. This environment was quite different for them from their usual ones.

"You can try."

Hojo unleashed a fraction of his suppressed aura, making others gasping for oxygen that was extinguished from the room as the result.

Their expression stiffened when gravity suddenly began pulling them with double force of the original.

They tried to figure out the reason behind this when something popped up inside Gojo's brain.

'I see, so that's how he chose to give answer to my previous question.'

"There's no gain in wasting your strength here."

He looked at Hojo for a moment, then put his hands into his body with relaxed expression.

Their body had already adapted to such pressure. They were six-eye users anyway.

With a grin of satisfaction on his face, Hojo also suppressed his aura back and took a few steps toward them.

"I'm not longer that same person you all once beat down."

He declared as he inwardly recalled the moments where he was being losing from every single one of them continuously.

After his awakening when he acquired true six-eyes from Yahaech, he had been evolved into a different entity.

With immeasurable amount of raw cursed energy and nearly 100% usage efficiency which dropped his energy consumption to almost zero, he was literally invincible until gods themselves not descend to defeat him.

They were beliefs of someone who couldn't think of a way that how can someone possibly defeat him?

Of course, he knew he was just nothing but a new born baby before Yahaech's both experience and strength.

After all, the power that he was so confident about was Yahaech's property.

Izumi looked at him before he stepped forward and warned him.

"Don't be so full of yourself. You still can't defend against Gojo's Infinite Void. You have just powered up physical, mentally you are still a teenager who just got luck to recieve such blessing from Yahaech-sama."

Hojo went silent when he heard this. Even he agreed that perhaps what Izumi saying was truth.

Infinite Void, one of the most broken domain of this world, never tried to attack a person physical like most of the domains.

Instead, this domain was cruel enough to crush the one trapped inside it mentally until everything that person had no longer meant nothing to him.

What would a person with no sense of self do, after all? He would everything that was precious to him.

It would be nothing less than a death, if not literal death.

"Don't be sad buddy, you are still very younger than me—you have plenty of time to surpass me. Now, let me step out this house of corpse… and take a look at this future earth."

Gojo walked past him as he patted him on shoulder and went out of the room. He likely did this to break momentarily silence.

"Gojo, stop. We first need to help this boy."

Michizane, who was silent from beginning, finally spoke up.

He remembered what their purpose was to come here in the first place and what they first need to do to achieve that particular 'purpose'.

"I guess I have no choice if Michizane-sama is saying this."

Gojo respected Michizane and he stopped the moment his ears registered his voice.

Next, Michizane spoke to Hojo.

"If I'm right, we don't have much time left here. We simply don't belong here. So it would be wise to hurry and kill those aliens you were talking about."

Hojo understood the meaning of those words and together they left the hospital for main district where Dabura was supposed to be.

Amid this, they found the unconscious people laying on the floor of hospital but there was no problem as they were merely unconscious only.

Soon, they arrived at their destination.

Everything around them was destroyed and nothing could be seen for several hundred metres.

And in the centre of this uneven ground was a large creater, perhaps the main spot of explotion which caused this destruction.

Hojo scrutinized the area, trying to find Dabura. Through his awareness of surroundings and his gaze, he was certain that Dabura wasn't present here.

Maybe he had already woken up before and had gone to other districts.

After searching for a few more minutes, they left for the district where Simurians were battling with sorcerers.

Time continued to pass little by little and just like this, an hour quickly passed.

They could clearly see the gigantic spacecraft hovering in the sky while it covered most of the city with its sheer size.

Here, conditions were slightly better but as they advanced forward, more destroyed buildings showed up which worked as landmarks to reach the centre of war.

This place wasn't noisy as expected, but faint sounds of metals hitting each other could be heard from a corner.

Taking this as the hint, Hojo with others began moving toward it. After a few moments, they finally reached their.

An open space was being forcefully created here for battle by removing a portion of this region completely.

Corpses of dead Simurians could be seen—here and there—as they were randomly scattered away across this area.

Not only Simurians, but humans were also present, dead.

The only difference was—instead of being randomly scattered—all of them were piled up over each other, forming a mountain of human corpses.

Perhaps they also used robotic suits for battle because they could also be seen, completely shattered.

This only means that someone deliberately had done this.

Hojo remained silent as he stared at dead humans. Whoever had done this, Hojo took oath that he will make him regret by his death.

Michizane and Gojo were looking for alive people, if fortunately there were, when Izumi called out to them.

"Hey, see this man. He's still breathing."

Everyone simultaneously looked in the direction where Izumi pointed with his finger.

A man who still grabbed his sword in his hand. A man who was denying the fact that he lose this battle.

A man who was still holding on his life desperately to fulfill his last purpose, despite the fact that his left hand was completely severed and there was a large wound opened on his chest.

Blood continuously leaked out of it. But still, he hadn't accepted this fate. He couldn't die before that…

Hojo's eyes widened as his gaze landed on that severely injured man. His heart sank as he immediately appeared before him and took a closer look.

"Yo—you must not fight that king. He has far surpassed our all sorcerers of all time. We are—"

Before he could complete his last words, his body went number and became colder. His mouth was left open and the light in his eyes had disappeared.

With a dull sound, even the sword left his grip.

And with this, an absolute full stop was placed on the life of this man who used to be strongest sorcerer of current human era until Hojo had showed up.

This man whose name was Ronnie.
