Hunter looked at him with a neutral face.
"Ethan… do you still care about him?" he asked the same question again
Lucian's throat tightened.
"You… might be mistaken?" he answered, forcing out a faint scoff that didn't quite reach his eyes.
"Mistaken?" Hunter repeated softly.
He took a step closer.
"Then why did you race to his house when you heard he wasn't coming?" His voice remained calm, but there was something simmering beneath it. "Even if you claim it was for the team, I saw the way you looked at him. Even when you thought no one was watching."
Another step.
"That really makes me mad."
Lucian instinctively stepped back ,once, twice ,until his shoulders met the cold wall behind him.
Hunter closed the distance completely.
He planted one hand beside Lucian's head, blocking him in. The other hovered near his waist before sliding upward ,slow, deliberate , until his fingers brushed the side of Lucian's neck.
