Chapter 9 - My name is Shinka

Reluctantly, Ezekiel got ready for his training, but while he was refilling his wooden bucket to wash his back, he had a flashback. It was from when he was at his uncle's house. Ezekiel trembling in fear at the sight of his uncle he fell to the ground. His legs were numb. His heart was racing. Engulfed in fear and agony he let out a blood-curdling scream. As he opened his eyes, he could feel his uncle's carbon dioxide corroding his insides. With a sense of hesitation and trepidation, he slowly and carefully closed his eyes. His uncle advanced towards him. He gently put his hand on his shoulders. He whispered into his ears. Ezekiel's heart felt like it was being pierced by a sharp blade. Ezekiel blinked again and again. Then. The third time he blinked he saw a rainbow of colours. It was beautiful. Ezekiel's heart slowed down, then the a voice spoke to him and said "give your pain to me."

"Alright, but you have to promise me you will never leave me because my life is now starting to get better. Even though, my room is a lot worse than my old house, my bed isn't even a bed anymore and it gives me constant back pains when I wake up, but Grandpa's kind and that is all that matters, I know that Grandpa is strong, but he's getting old and although I haven't known him for that long, I know he's kind, but I know he will die soon, its inevitable, so promise to be with me until the day I die."

"Of course, I will," a voice replied softly. "So give me your pain; I will give you my power and lets promise to be together forever."

"Til death do us part." Ezekiel replied happily."

Ezekiel woke up naked with his bucket by his side. He thought to himself was it all a dream. "No boy it was real, and we signed a contract. Before I was dormant in you now I'm alive." "So you're inside of me then, so cool, well my names Ezekiel so you don't need to be calling me boy anymore." "Boy. I always had known your name its that you don't deserve your named to be called. Your just barely a Fushigi." "What do you mean just barely a Fushigi. Don't be so rude and CALL ME BY MY NAME! "You must earn the right to be called by your name. Right now, your just Boy." "Well what's your name then because Sea shin doesn't sound right." "Well, I am Shinka and its not Sea Shin its Seishin." "Alright I will call you Shin Shin then." "Not Shin Shin. Shinka. Boy, don't disrespect the name of a great Seishin like myself." "Actually, I forgot to ask how do I see your colour." "Boy, just concentrate on your mana." "What is mana?" "Oh my, you were taught nothing. Well sit down and meditate." "But I don't have my clothes on." "Boy, just do as I say." Ezekiel sat down and meditated as he was instructed. He felt the smooth concrete slabs touching his thighs. He concentrated really hard and then he began to see a light. A bright light. Beaming with joy he smiled. He concentrated even more and saw it. It was a... His heart was racing. He couldn't contain his emotions. He was so happy he saw... White. It was white, but then when concentrated more. During that instance of complete concentration, he saw it. There was no mistaking it. At that moment he then remembered his grandfather's words. "White and black are the strongest and yellow is the weakest." Tears slowly rolled down his face. With disappointment piercing his mind he opened his eyes and let out a scream. Some of the servants stopped working because they were engulfed in shock. Then Ezekiel screamed louder than he had ever in his life, "MY SEA SHIN IS YELLOW!" As he dried his eyes, his grandfather teleported in front of him. "What do you mean you saw yellow. Check again." His grandfather said in bewilderment. Ezekiel checked again, but still saw yellow. Then his grandfather spoke to him reassuringly, "Not to worry I'll just make sure you train extra hard."

Half an hour later Ezekiel got dressed and ready. His training began, he was personally trained by his grandfather. "First of all, I want you to do, one thousand press ups then four thousand squats then finish off with five hundred sit ups you have thirty minutes. Its just something light because your young and only recently awakened your Seishin."

"Grandpa, what do you mean, 'something light,' not only is that impossible to do in thirty minutes, but remember I am only thirteen years old, it would take me my entire life to do one thousand press ups, not to mention how many lives it would take me to do all the stuff." Ezekiel replied.

"Boy don't question me! Remember you are not a normal thirteen-year-old, you're a Fushigi, this should be easy for you. Remember what I told you about the strength enhancement from the Seishin, so don't stress and get on with it or no dinner." said his grandfather.

"Thats not fair!" Replied Ezekiel.

"Boy, Its my house. So its my rules, so get on with it already, and no more back chat." said his grandfather.

Ezekiel got down on his hands and got ready to do press ups. He had never done a press up before and was quite nervous. He pressed down and rose back up with ease then he quickly did one hundred and was amazed with himself. "Grandpa was right it is really light." "Boy, you've only done one hundred and one, you have a ways to go." "Shin Shin why are you always so negative." "Don't call me Shin Shin again. Remember I'm a very strong Seishin so this is going to be easy for us to do. Matter of fact, we will do it in twenty-five minutes instead." "Shin Shin, why do you always say that your strong but your only yellow." "Boy, just get on with your press ups!"

Ezekiel continued doing his press ups he completed it within five minutes. "Grandpa look I'm done with my press ups."

"Good I told you it would be easy, now get on with the rest." Ezekiel did as he was told. He did his squats next and completed them swiftly, but the sit ups are where he struggled because he needed his mana to be concentrated at his centre. With time though, he was able to complete it all in just under twenty-five minutes.
