Chapter 91 - Chapter 2 Jeanne von Einhaven

Jeanne, a mysterious woman, brought the Phantoms to the small town of Eichenheim. Supposedly, because she is Strohhelm's granddaughter and wants to find his hat.

Jeanne: "This is... Eichenheim."

Diego: "Woow..."

There was a lot of nature and plants, and the birds were chirping.

Jeanne: "What do you think? Isn't it beautiful?"

Diego: "Oh... say, Jeanne, may I ask how old you are?"

Kisa: "Diego... you don't ask a woman her age."

Jeanne: "Hahahaha... no, no, it's okay... but I can already tell you that I'm much older than you all... I'm 25 years old. And don't underestimate me... I've been an adventurer since I was 15..."

Nacht: "Why do you need our help?"

Jeanne: "Simple... I've been trying to find the hat for two years... and... well, I know where it is now, but to open it I need Fairy Tale Users... and that's what you are."

Nacht: "I see."

Jeanne: "Hehehe... then follow me..."

Charlotte: "Better not, otherwise Diego will stare at your butt."

Diego: "Huh?"

Jeanne: "Huh?... Hehehe... Diego dear, I have quite a few photos of myself... I can lend them to you."

Kisa: "Huh."

Diego: "(Sweats)... what kind of photos?"

She handed him some.

Diego: "Uhm."

They were all pictures of her giving the middle finger.

Jeanne: "...Got you."

Kisa: "Mmm."

Nacht: "(Sweats)... karma is really wild."

Charlotte: "Hahhh... I like this woman... she's funny."

Jeanne: "No, Diego... honestly, hehe... I think you're cool... but... hmm."

She stood in front of him. She smelled like flowers, but her breath smelled like... fish.

Diego: "Ighhh... I thought women smelled nice."

Jeanne: "I ate fish... but my body smells like flowers."

Charlotte: "(Sniffs)... do flowers sweat? You smell like sweat."

Jeanne: "Yeah... well... after all this traveling, it's to be expected."

Diego: "No problem... it's okay... Rose used to sweat a lot too."

Jeanne: "Rose?"

Diego: "My late wife."

Jeanne: "Ughh... oh... that... I'm really sorry... and you're so young too... how old was she, if I may ask?"

Diego: "When she died?... Twenty."

Jeanne: "Oh... I'm truly sorry, Diego."

Diego: "It's okay... it was a long time ago."

Jeanne: "Hmmm... that reminds me... which of you is in a relationship?"

Nacht: "Uhm... well... not exactly a relationship, but Kisa and I."

Jeanne: "Oh... hehe, no wonder."

Charlotte: "Well... I had feelings for someone... but he's dead."

Jeanne: "Ighh... you too..."

Mona: "Hmm... I don't have one... because he chose another woman."

Diego: "Ighhh... (Cough)."

Jeanne: "Oh, I see... hehehe... I was in a relationship too... but in the end it turned out he was only after my money... hmph... unfortunately, after my parents died, I rejected the inheritance. I want to earn my money through my own work... not through my parents."

Diego: "The car?"

Jeanne: "A birthday gift from my father. That's different, don't you think?"

Diego: "Yeah... a memory."

Jeanne: "Hmmm."

They continued on their way.

Jeanne: "Hmmm... so... if you go into that castle over there... you'll be entering the castle where I grew up... so..."

She opened the door. The key looked like a silver bird.

(Click)

Jeanne: "Come on... come inside."

They entered.

Kisa: "Woooww."

Jeanne: "I came back here a few days ago after rediscovering this place."

Nacht: "I see."

They continued walking until she opened another door.

Jeanne: "Alright, alright... let's keep going. Still alive, hehe..."

Nacht: "Woow..."

Diego: "Dang, your family must be really rich."

Nacht: "Hmm."

Jeanne: "Yes, indeed... indeed... very rich... alright... this way, please."

They followed her. She pressed a button.

Jeanne: "Oops... forgot to tell you... this is going to hurt a little."

Diego: "Huh?"

Suddenly, the floor opened.

Diego: "Huh?"

Nacht: "Uhm."

(Woooooosh!)

Diego: "...What the... fuuuuuuckkkkk."

Jeanne: "Uhm... right... I forgot there was a slide too... by the way, there's no water at the bottom... so it's going to hurt."

Charlotte: "You tell us that only now?"

Kisa: "Oh dear."

Diego: "Aaarghhh."

(Crash!)

Diego: "Ouch..."

(Crash!)

They all landed on top of him.

Diego: "Urk... ghhhh..."

Kisa: "Oh..."

Jeanne: "Luckily we landed on you, Diego dear."

Diego: "...Yeah..."

They stood up.

Jeanne: "So... here we are... this is the basement."

Nacht: "Your father probably should have added more safety measures."

Jeanne: "What?... There used to be several sharp spears down here so anyone who entered would get impaled... but I removed them. Otherwise... you'd have ended up like him over there."

Diego: "Huh?"

There was a corpse.

Jeanne: "That's my ex... I told you, he wanted my money... well, karma is wonderful. What?... Oh, wait a moment..."

She walked over to him, picked up the skeleton, and went into a room.

Jeanne: "I need to pee... please wait for me."

Diego: "(Sweats)... is she... peeing on... his corpse?"

Nacht: "Hmmm."

Diego: "Hahhh..."

Nacht: "Look at that... no perverted comment, rookie?"

Diego: "We've known each other for more than five years. Why the hell do you still call me rookie?"

Kisa: "Maybe... it's some kind of muscle memory... Diego keeps saying things whenever he sees a beautiful woman."

Diego: "Ighh..."

Nacht: "Hey... don't ruin her head, you bastard."

Diego: "That must have been a long time ago. Seriously."

Jeanne came back out.

Jeanne: "Ohh... yeah... I held it in for so long. Bon appétit, Edi. Hehe."

She walked back to them.

Jeanne: "Hmm? Is something wrong?"

(Staring)

Nacht: "Wonderful. Can we please have one normal day for once?"

Diego: "Us and a normal day... that's like being a wolf and being vegan."

Jeanne: "Alright then... follow me."

Diego: "Have you ever heard of drying your hands after washing them?... Uhm... or was that not water?"

Jeanne: "Dude, relax... I'm not that crazy. Good grief... I'm a woman."

Diego: "That doesn't mean you can't get weird ideas... Mona likes guys with freckles."

Mona: "Huh? What's weird about that? You have freckles yourself, you stupid wolf."

Diego: "Hey."

Jeanne: "Hehehe... hahaha... ahh... you guys are cool... really cool... come on now."

She continued walking, took off her jacket, and hung it over a sofa.

Jeanne: "There."

They followed her.

Jeanne: "Hmm."

Nacht: "What kind of family is the Einhaven family?"

Jeanne: "The Einhaven family belongs to the noble mage families. They're a family of lawyers... although many of us are musicians too. Recently, my father and grandfather were musicians. Einhaven isn't really our true surname. My father's surname was actually Beethoven. But here in Eichendorf we're called the Einhaven family, and in Erfurt im Breisgau we're known as either the Einhaven family or the Beethoven family. Einhaven is my mother's family, and Beethoven is my father's family. Simple, hehe."

Nacht: "Why did you take your mother's surname?"

Jeanne: "My mother died early, and she was the last member of the Einhaven family. That's why I wanted to inherit her surname... so the name would continue to exist. My sister chose it too."

Diego: "You have a sister?"

Jeanne: "Yes, Maya... hehe... but she's already married. She also refused to abandon the Einhaven name. We both decided to honor our mother's family name."

They stopped.

Jeanne: "Here it is... oh, I'll tell you now, I've never been down here. I only know that my father's hat, Strohhelm van Beethoven's hat... anyway... first I need something."

She picked up something that looked like fur, opened her mouth, and licked it.

Diego: "Uhm."

Jeanne: "Mm."

Then she placed it in front of a chest. The chest opened a giant eye, and the door opened.

Jeanne: "The door only opens with saliva or... tears from my father's family. That's the whole point... now follow me."

They slowly descended. It was dark, and creepy drawings covered the walls.

Jeanne: "Don't be frightened... my father had strange tastes. He suffered trauma from the war... and... when he eventually couldn't sleep anymore, that trauma shaped him so much that he began drawing it."

Pictures of dead people... and of someone tearing their own head apart.

Jeanne: "...Wars... can drastically change a person... I was only three years old when the war started nearby..."

Diego: "Hey... one of those pictures just moved its eye."

Nacht: "Keep dreaming."

Jeanne: "Hm... that's strange... I think I just saw one of the drawings smile too..."
