Gojo, who had been floating calmly in the sky, soon descended toward the ground. He landed near the dead world government agent with a soft thud, the sound quiet yet strangely heavy amidst the tense silence of the street.
At that moment, Saint Jalmack was still cursing the fallen agent without restraint.
"You useless trash! How dare you make me fall like that—"
But his words abruptly stopped.
Saint Jalmack slowly turned his head toward Gojo, and the moment he saw the fresh red blood dripping from Gojo's black blade onto the ground, his throat tightened involuntarily.
Drip.
Drip.
Saint Jalmack swallowed hard.
For the first time in his life, he truly felt fear.
It was not the kind of fear he occasionally felt in the presence of the Elders, nor the suffocating pressure he sometimes experienced from the Noble One residing in Mary Geoise. Those beings stood above even him, so fear toward them was natural in his mind.
But this—
This fear was directed toward a mere commoner.
Toward someone he had always considered beneath him.
And that reality terrified him far more than he wanted to admit.
Looking into Gojo's cold blue eyes, Saint Jalmack felt an instinctive chill spread through his entire body. His heart began beating faster, and his breathing became uneven.
However, the arrogance carved into his very bones still remained.
Immediately, Saint Jalmack turned toward the fallen world government agent and shouted angrily, "What are you doing lying there?! Immediately stand up and deal with him!"
His voice echoed loudly through the empty street.
But the agent did not move at all.
Saint Jalmack frowned and looked toward him again with irritation. He kicked and shook the agent's body violently, but as the corpse rolled slightly to the side, a large pool of blood became clearly visible beneath him.
Fresh blood continued spreading across the ground.
Saint Jalmack's eyes widened.
Only now did he finally realize the truth.
The world government agent was already dead.
Fear immediately deepened inside him.
Saint Jalmack hurriedly looked around, but the surroundings were almost completely empty. Most civilians and pirates had already fled long ago after witnessing the earlier battle. Even the few people who accidentally saw this scene now quickly ran away in panic, unwilling to involve themselves in something connected to a Celestial Dragon and a monster like Gojo.
The entire street suddenly felt isolated.
Silent.
Cold.
The only person standing before Saint Jalmack now was Gojo.
Gojo slowly walked toward him step by step. The sound of his footsteps echoed softly against the ground, each one making Saint Jalmack more uneasy. Then Gojo bent down, grabbed Saint Jalmack directly by the collar, and lifted him up effortlessly.
Saint Jalmack's body trembled slightly as he was forced to look directly into Gojo's eyes.
Gojo stared at him calmly and said, "How does it feel?"
His voice was quiet, yet every word felt heavy.
"The so-called god feeling fear from a mortal."
Saint Jalmack was clearly flustered now. Fear could be heard in his breathing, and even his face had become pale. Still, despite all of that, the arrogance in his blood had not completely disappeared.
"What do you want?" Saint Jalmack said, trying to sound threatening despite the trembling in his voice. "Do you know what the consequences will be if you dare lay your hands on me?"
He gritted his teeth and continued, "Not only will you be killed, your entire family will be killed! Your entire kin will be wiped out! Your village will be slaughtered, and your whole kingdom will be destroyed!"
Even while hanging helplessly from Gojo's grip, Saint Jalmack still tried to maintain the superiority he had possessed his entire life.
"Think carefully before you act," he warned.
Clearly, fear was present in every part of his voice now, but at the same time, that deep-rooted arrogance of a Celestial Dragon still remained firmly inside him.
Gojo's face remained completely calm, without anger or sorrow visible on it. His blue eyes simply looked down at Saint Jalmack as if he were staring at something insignificant.
Then Gojo spoke in a quiet voice.
"Well, you say you will destroy my family, destroy my village, destroy my kingdom."
A faint breeze passed through the ruined street, lightly moving his white hair.
"I regret to announce to you that my kingdom has already been destroyed. My village was looted long ago. Maybe it has completely disappeared by now."
Gojo's grip on Saint Jalmack's collar tightened slightly.
"So, leaving aside my family… you already destroyed everything else."
Saint Jalmack's expression stiffened.
Gojo continued speaking calmly, but the colder his tone became, the more pressure Saint Jalmack felt from every single word.
"Do you remember around twelve years ago," Gojo said, "when you visited a small kingdom full of what you call filthy commoners? The people there were desperately trying to please you, kneeling before you like insects."
Gojo's eyes narrowed slightly.
"Among those people were two individuals. My parents."
A brief silence followed.
"My father, Jack."
"My mother, Gojo Seraphina."
For the first time, a faint darkness appeared deep within Gojo's eyes.
"We were doing exactly what people like us were supposed to do before you. Kneeling obediently. Lowering our heads like ants before a so-called god."
Gojo's voice remained steady, but there was now an unmistakable sharpness hidden beneath it.
"There was no issue. Nobody resisted you. Nobody offended you."
"But then your lust took over."
Saint Jalmack's pupils shrank slightly.
"You dared to lay your eyes on my mother."
A cold killing intent quietly spread from Gojo's body.
"And after that… you killed them."
Gojo stared directly into Saint Jalmack's eyes.
"Do you remember now?"
"Are you getting some recollection of it?"
After hearing Gojo's words, Saint Jalmack genuinely began trying to remember. His mind rapidly searched through old memories, attempting to recall Gojo's mother or father.
But the more he tried to think, the more faces appeared in his mind.
Too many faces.
Too many kingdoms.
Too many commoners.
Too many people he had casually ruined or killed over the years.
There were so many that he could not even determine which pair of "insects" Gojo was referring to.
And because of that, the fear inside Saint Jalmack grew even stronger.
For the first time, much of his arrogance began fading away as logical thought finally entered his mind. If Gojo had truly come here for revenge over his parents' deaths, then the chances of Saint Jalmack returning alive today were becoming frighteningly small.
Cold sweat trickled down the side of his face.
Gojo looked at Saint Jalmack's confused expression and immediately understood that the man remembered absolutely nothing.
Not his parents.
Not the kingdom.
Not the countless lives he had destroyed.
Nothing.
Gojo silently forced Saint Jalmack down onto his knees.
Bang!
Saint Jalmack's knees slammed painfully against the ground. Before he could react further, Gojo placed the edge of his black blade directly against Saint Jalmack's head.
The cold steel touched his skin lightly.
Saint Jalmack's breathing instantly became heavier.
"I already thought you wouldn't remember anything about my parents," Gojo said calmly. "After all, there are probably countless ants like them that you have crushed throughout your life."
A faint mocking smile appeared on Gojo's face.
"Why would you remember them, right?"
Saint Jalmack's body trembled slightly.
This time, when he spoke, his tone had clearly changed. The earlier arrogance was still there, but desperation had begun mixing into it.
"Listen," Saint Jalmack hurriedly said, "you don't need to do anything rash."
His eyes moved nervously toward the black blade touching his head.
"How about this? I can give you riches—more riches than you can ever imagine. Women, wealth, status… anything you want."
Saint Jalmack spoke faster and faster, trying desperately to preserve his life.
"I will even forgive you for everything you've done today. Just leave me alive and go back to wherever you came from."
Even now, despite kneeling on the ground with a sword against his head, Saint Jalmack still spoke as if he were showing mercy to Gojo.
"I will be magnanimous enough to forgive you," he said.
After hearing those words, Gojo suddenly laughed.
At first, it was just a small chuckle.
Then the laughter grew louder and louder until it echoed through the empty street.
But hidden within that laughter was unmistakable sorrow.
The images of his parents replayed in his mind once again—the terrified expressions on their faces, the helplessness, the blood, the destruction of everything he once called home. Those memories surfaced one after another while Gojo laughed, and somehow that only made the sound colder.
Saint Jalmack looked at him with growing fear.
Gojo slowly shook his head and sighed.
"Sigh… what exactly can I expect from pieces of trash like you?"
His voice was calm again now, but there was an icy sharpness behind it.
"Even at the moment of your death, you feel no guilt. No remorse. Nothing."
Gojo looked directly into Saint Jalmack's eyes.
"To you people, all of this is completely natural, isn't it?"
A heavy silence followed.
Then Gojo's expression finally turned completely cold.
The faint traces of emotion vanished from his face as he prepared to swing his sword.
However, at that exact moment, Gojo sensed a presence approaching rapidly from the side.
Boom!
A massive figure suddenly appeared nearby.
It was a Pacifista.
The enormous humanoid weapon turned its mechanical gaze toward the scene. Its robotic eyes scanned both individuals instantly before locking onto them.
Then, in a cold robotic voice, it spoke:
"Identified: Saint Jalmack."
"Identified: Gojo Satoru."
"Bounty: 500 million berries."
"To be eliminated."
The moment the Pacifista recognized both Gojo, and the Celestial Dragon in danger, it immediately raised its hand. A circular opening appeared in its palm as energy rapidly gathered inside it, glowing brightly.
The next second—
A laser beam shot toward Gojo at terrifying speed.
The air itself distorted slightly from the heat of the attack.
Yet Gojo did not even bother lifting his eyelids.
He simply turned his attention back toward Saint Jalmack as though the incoming laser did not exist at all.
The laser reached the invisible barrier of Limitless and instantly slowed down before stopping completely inches away from Gojo's body. It remained suspended there, unable to move forward no matter how much force it carried.
The attack could never touch him.
Saint Jalmack's eyes widened further after witnessing that scene.
At the same time, a loud furious voice echoed from nearby.
"Gojo Satoru!"
"Remove your sword from Saint Jalmack's neck, or else you will pay a heavy price!"
A large figure rapidly approached from the distance.
It was Sentomaru, the man who commanded the Pacifistas.
However, it was as if Gojo had not heard a single word he said.
Without hesitation—
Gojo's sword moved in one swift motion.
Slash!
For a brief second, everything became silent.
Then Saint Jalmack's head separated cleanly from his body.
Blood sprayed into the air as the severed head fell onto the ground and rolled across the street several times before finally coming to a stop. The body remained kneeling for a moment before collapsing heavily onto the ground as well.
The smell of fresh blood spread through the air.
Gojo calmly stood there holding his black blade while blood slowly dripped from it onto the ground.
Drip.
Drip.
Then Gojo finally turned his head toward Sentomaru, who had just arrived at the scene.
A faint smile appeared on Gojo's face as he said casually,
"You were saying something?"
"I didn't hear you properly."
Gojo glanced briefly at Saint Jalmack's corpse lying nearby before continuing,
"As you can see… I was busy cleaning some trash."
