Chapter 627: Slaughtered Men and Gods (3)

Confrontation and Despair

Billy and Teth-Adam were both heirs chosen by the Wizard and both possessed the Power of the Six Gods. Although they inherited different divine systems, their essence was the same.

Billy immediately sensed that unique aura from the man.

"Are you Black Adam?"

"You should call me Your Majesty the King."

Before he finished speaking, three more presences appeared: Luke, Linda, and Barry. With Billy's help, they had finally broken through the light barrier and entered the Colosseum.

Luke surveyed the environment. When he saw the closing portal beneath their feet and the struggling figures of Diana, Clark, and J'onn wrestling with Anubis, his expression grew extremely serious.

"What is that thing?"

"It looks like the Gate of the Underworld," Billy scratched his head, sounding unsure. The memories infused by Shazam were too many, and he couldn't process them all at once.

"What is the Gate of the Underworld?"

"An ancient Egyptian sorcery. Something about sacrificing to the God of Death, Anubis, and praying to open the Underworld's gate."

"What happens if a living person goes in?"

"The Underworld is the domain of the dead. There is no space for the living to survive."

At this, Billy finally realized the severity of the situation. His voice frantic, he shouted,

"Superman, Martian Manhunter, and Wonder Woman—how are they in the Underworld? We're doomed! We're doomed! They can't get out! Red Ghost, we have to save them!"

Luke: "..."

Your reaction speed is incredible!

"Do you know how to open the Gate of the Underworld?"

Billy nodded, then quickly shook his head. "I've never tried it. I don't know if I can do it."

"Believe in yourself. You can do this. If you run into trouble, just think about the mission on your shoulders. Superman and Wonder Woman are in the Underworld. Only you can save them."

With that, Luke powerfully clapped the big guy's shoulder and flashed in front of Black Adam.

"Teth-Adam, ancient Egyptian slave hero and King of Kahndaq?"

"Correct."

Teth-Adam stared intently at the newcomer. The aura emanating from Luke made him feel an unprecedented sense of pressure. Fear began to sprout deep within his soul, spreading throughout his body.

A terrifying individual. A stronger-than-imagined opponent.

"Are you their leader?"

"You can call me Ghost."

Luke's gaze shifted slightly. He said blandly, "Since you look a lot like Dwayne Johnson, I'll give you a chance to live. Open the Gate of the Underworld and let them out."

"And if I refuse?"

"You will die. Everything connected to you will vanish: the people of Kahndaq, Sivana who freed you, and the reincarnated Isis. I will send them all to the Underworld as burial sacrifices."

"You seek death!"

Teth-Adam raised his finger, firing a massive chain of lightning. As the electric light struck, Luke stood still, his body shrouded in a screen of green flame that deflected all the lightning.

Luke's soul detached from his body. It rose against the wind, swelling into a Six-Armed Giant. A weapon was held in each hand: a saber, a spear, a sword, a cudgel, a bow, and an arrow. Green flame wrapped around him, forming armor.

Embodied Soul!

Teth-Adam's pupils contracted. A secret technique of the Eastern Celestial Court! And the fiercely burning green flame—just looking at it caused a searing pain in his soul.

Who is this guy?

Luke raised the longsword, unleashing a wave of green crescent light. The light blade approached with terrifying speed. Teth-Adam instinctively raised his hands.

Boom!

The light blade exploded. Green flame washed over him, turning into countless fine threads that frantically tried to drill into his body.

Teth-Adam screamed in agony. Lightning surged out, forcibly expelling the flames. Even so, the deep-seated, soul-level pain left his face pale.

"What horrifying fire! Who exactly are you?"

"You don't need to know."

Luke drew his bow and fired over a dozen arrows of green flame. Then, he drew his golden cudgel and, with a strike that tore through the void, aimed for Teth-Adam's head.

Black Adam did not dare to resist. He quickly flashed aside. Suddenly, a fierce tiger's roar echoed in his ears.

Killing intent, like a tsunami, washed over him. A giant blood-stained tiger burst from the void, clamping its jaws onto his body. Sparks flew as its sharp teeth grated against his skin.

Teth-Adam struggled with all his might, but to his horror, his renowned strength was useless.

"Break!"

Linda, concealed within the tiger, delivered a palm strike to his abdomen. The seemingly soft attack contained unimaginable force.

Boom!

Energy exploded inside his body, violently destroying his internal organs.

The single strike shattered all of Black Adam's confidence. Blood spilled from the corner of his mouth, gushing outward uncontrollably.

"Th-this... How is this possible?"

He, the wielder of the Power of the Six Gods, had been struck down and was spitting blood from a single palm strike.

"You dare to stand against us?"

Linda curled her lip and kicked him backward against the light barrier.

While Black Adam was powerful, compared to threats like Parasite Superman or Parallax Sinestro, he was a minor player. In the Justice League, everyone except Barry had the strength to take him on, and even defeat him.

Luke raised his longsword and held it against Black Adam's neck.

"Last chance. Open the Gate of the Underworld."

Teth-Adam wiped the blood from his mouth.

"I need a sacrifice. Without a sacrifice, I cannot summon the Gate of the Underworld."

"Still lying!"

Green flame erupted from the sword tip, searing his soul. Teth-Adam howled in pain.

"I'm not lying! I sacrificed the corpses of seven Demons to open the Gate of the Underworld before! Without a sacrifice, Anubis will not appear!"

Luke narrowed his eyes. "In that case, you're useless."

The simple words sent a chill down Teth-Adam's spine. His mouth twitched. He did not want to surrender, but the reality was that if he didn't bow, he would surely die.

Should he die with dignity, or live in shame?

"There is one more way."

Teth-Adam wisely chose the latter. "The Underworld has a passage connected to the mortal realm. They can return to the world through there."

"I'm tired of your nonsense."

"Wait! Just hear me out first," Teth-Adam spoke quickly. "The Underworld is boundless. Even if you re-summon the Gate of the Underworld, you won't find them. The only way is to tell them the exit to the mortal realm while the portal is still closing and let them find their own way out."

"Given the strength of those three, it's absolutely feasible."

Luke turned to Billy.

"Is he telling the truth?"

The boy nodded repeatedly.

"The Underworld does have an exit to the mortal realm. It's just outside the Rock of Eternity, but..." He paused, sounding uncertain. "It seems very troublesome to get to."

"It seems you weren't lying."

Luke leaned closer. "What do we do next? How do we relay the message to them?"

"I know a spell that can allow a soul to pass through the Gate of the Underworld into the Underworld."

Saying this, he carefully glanced at Luke, his meaning unmistakable.

Luke chuckled. "Tell me the incantation."

Teth-Adam rejoiced inwardly. He quickly and thoroughly recited the exit location, the spell, and the essentials for casting the magic. This guy in front of me is the strongest and most terrifying. If I can just trick him into the Underworld, the other three will be nothing to worry about.

"Your Majesty the King, to ensure you haven't lied to me, I want you to grant me one request before I go."

"Now, don't resist."

Luke extended his right hand and placed it on Teth-Adam's shoulder, his movement incredibly gentle.
