Chapter 440: H'el: The Asura
The Kryptonian Showdown
The light of the punch was crushed, and energy spilled everywhere.
Linda clenched her fist and struck again.
"Break!"
The fist-sized ball of light faintly carried the sound of a tiger's roar. H'el again raised his palm, but the next moment, he frowned. The punch's power exceeded his estimation; it pushed past his hand and struck his chest.
Boom!
The shockwave exploded in the air. A figure flew straight backward, landed on the ground, and immediately ascended into the sky.
"Such a strange energy pattern. Who taught you that?"
"My master."
"An Earthling?"
"So what?"
Linda was never one to tolerate a bad temper. If H'el had been polite, she would definitely have helped, but he chose to attack—it was infuriating.
"Take this punch!"
Linda curled her right hand into a fist, her palm glowing. Her thumb was hidden beneath her four fingers, and the sound of a tiger's roar could faintly be heard.
"Tiger Cannon!"
The fist tore through the air, transforming into a vibrant, multi-colored shadow of a punch. Upon close inspection, the shape of a tiger's head was vaguely visible.
H'el spread his five fingers. The energy tide transformed into milky-white light waves, colliding with the oncoming tiger head.
Boom!
The two energies clashed, turning into a massive shockwave. Grass and trees flew, dirt rolled, and the ground looked as if it had been plowed. The dust-laden wind rushed toward Linda, who quickly shielded her head. H'el, however, neither dodged nor avoided it; the fierce wind strangely vanished three meters before reaching him.
He was not only a Kryptonian but also the most powerful psychic energy user. The combination of the two powers was not one plus one equals two; it was exponentially cumulative.
Just then, a sonic boom sounded. Clark rushed forward at extreme speed, punching H'el into a nearby warehouse.
"Stop fighting! This battle is unnecessary!"
Linda also shouted, "What exactly do you want? You suddenly arrive on Earth, demand we go back fifty years, and then you get angry when we refuse!"
"H'el, you've changed! You never used to be like this!"
The warehouse was ripped apart by an energy storm. H'el ascended high into the air, looking down at them.
"Kara, Kal, the moment you chose to stay on Earth, we were destined to become enemies."
"Your hearts have been corrupted. Krypton has no need for traitors."
Linda was furious. "Who's a traitor? I just want to stay here! Is that wrong?"
H'el slowly shook his head, a flash of pain in his eyes. He instantly flashed to Clark's front, punching him several hundred meters away, then appeared behind Linda.
His steel-like right hand grabbed her by the back of the neck, lifted her high, and smashed her down forcefully.
Boom!
A large pit appeared in the ground. Linda was pinned beneath his palm, unable to break free for a moment.
"Let her go!"
Clark rushed back at superspeed, but he swung at empty air. The next second, a shadow appeared beneath him, accompanied by a sharp tearing sound. A lightning-fast leg whip hit him squarely in the center of his face. Clark had no time to react and was slammed away like a baseball. His head rang, and he suffered a momentary sense of dizziness.
"You are too weak. As Kryptonians, you don't even understand basic fighting techniques. You only rely on brute force and speed."
"Kal, your father Jor was not only a top scientist but also a formidable warrior. You are a disappointment; aside from his face, you've inherited none of his virtues."
Clark gasped for air.
"What exactly do you want?"
"You'll know soon enough."
H'el charged at extreme speed, this time using only his fists and feet. His fighting style was simple, effective, and shocking. Each strike precisely targeted his opponents' weak points.
Clark lasted only two seconds before being sent flying. Linda clenched her right fist, the light of her punch ripping through the air, blow after blow, but H'el skillfully evaded them.
While dodging the punches, he continued to fiercely beat Clark.
"Strength, speed, skill, experience, resolve... you lack all of them. Kara, are you only capable of attacking from a distance?"
H'el suddenly turned and rapidly moved in front of Linda, grabbing her right hand with his left. Energy exploded in his palm, spraying everywhere. The girl gritted her teeth and punched him in the chest with her left hand.
Clang!
A powerful rebound shot back, instantly paralyzing her left arm.
How is that possible?
Linda's eyes widened in disbelief. Clark charged from behind, but H'el neutralized his ferociously thrown iron fist with a single hand.
"You are too weak."
H'el swung his arms, slamming the cousins to the ground. He raised his hands high into the air, and energy converged in his palms, forming a twisting, violent storm.
Boom!
A clap of thunder resonated across the sky. The shockwave, mixed with energy, swept outwards, leaving scratch marks hundreds of meters long on the soft soil, like the coming of the apocalypse.
The dust flew, slowly disappearing after a long while.
With a round of coughing, two figures crawled out of the giant crater created by the explosion.
Clark spat out a mouthful of blood and asked weakly,
"Are you alright?"
"Where is he?"
"He left."
As she spoke, Linda began coughing violently, her face a mixture of red and blue, showing extreme pain.
"Are you injured?"
Linda waved her hand. "I'll be fine in a moment."
Kryptonians possess a healing factor; they recover quickly as long as the injury isn't fatal.
"What did he mean by all those things he said?"
"I don't know."
Clark looked up at the sky. "I have a feeling this isn't over."
Aftermath and Doubt
The battle between the three had turned the farm into ruins. Houses had collapsed, wheat fields were destroyed, and giant cracks stretched to the horizon, making it look like the end of the world.
The next morning, major media outlets reported the incident.
Reporters flocked to the site, attempting to uncover the truth hidden in the night.
Linda wasn't in the mood to deal with them. After waking up, she went to the bathroom to soak in the tub. Recalling the events of the previous day, she was filled with mixed emotions.
"H'el, what exactly are you planning?"
Time travel?
Fifty years ago?
She couldn't shake the feeling that something was deeply wrong.
After her bath, Linda put on a robe and entered the living room. Seeing the figure on the sofa, she exclaimed in surprise.
"Why are you back?"
"You made that much noise. How could I not come back?" Luke Shaw replied.
"Tell me, who was that person?"
"Don't worry about it. It has nothing to do with you."
Linda dried her hair and walked into the bedroom. Luke Shaw followed her, leaning against the changing room door.
"You lost, didn't you?"
"No, we won."
Luke Shaw was speechless. There were no cameras at the farm, but there were witnesses. Some things couldn't be concealed.
"Do you need my help?"
"No, we can handle it. If you have nothing else to do, please leave. Seeing you annoys me."
"Alright!"
Luke Shaw threw up his hands and turned to leave.
"If you get bullied, call me. I'll help you get back at him."
Linda scoffed. Get back at him? That was easy to say. Clark and I combined weren't his match; how could you possibly handle him?
Exiting the villa, Luke Shaw stepped into a black SUV. Dior handed him a stack of files.
"These are the portraits drawn based on eyewitness accounts, along with an analysis of his abilities."
Luke Shaw took the files and quickly skimmed them: Gray-blue long hair, scarred body, strong, tall, extremely fast, capable of teleportation/super-speed, and can generate powerful energy storms.
"This guy... wouldn't happen to be H'el, would he?"
