Although the Zerg were all one race, they could be divided into two primary branches.
Zerg Queens—the creators and rulers of the Zerg Army.
Zerg Servants—soldiers who existed solely to obey and protect their Queens.
The latter's numbers vastly exceeded those of the Queens. Individually, their strength wasn't much lower either.
Given sufficient nourishment and opportunities, some could even surpass the very Queen that had given birth to them.
Yet, these Zerg Servants were just that—mere servants.
They possessed no independent will, existing solely to obey the commands of their Queen.
Only in extremely rare circumstances was this not the case.
Some rare individuals would be born among them periodically who managed to escape their bloodline shackles and awaken a consciousness.
All this information surfaced within Liora's mind as she watched the rapidly approaching Zerg Servants.
