Chapter 144: Pirate Ren Arakawa vs. Magellan, the Poison Man

The prison break operation, which began from Red Earl's cell, quickly spread throughout Impel Down.

On Level Six, the Infinite Hell, Lightning used his Scissor-Scissor Fruit to frantically release legendary pirates whose very existence had been erased from all records.

On Level Five, the Freezing Hell, the Okama King, Ivankov, formed a "Luxury Prison Break Group" composed of great pirates with bounties exceeding one hundred million.

And the operation on Level Four was the most crucial part of this entire jailbreak.

Pirate Ren Arakawa, who possessed a wing-like kagune, soared rapidly through the air.

The moment he decided to break out, he dropped the act and pushed his flight ability to its limits. The time it took him to fly from the Freezing Hell to the Blazing Hell was so short it could have earned him a 'Fastest Legend' achievement.

When Pirate Ren Arakawa flew to the enormous cauldron of the Blazing Hell, the frost on his body had just evaporated. The jailers were only just realizing that a large number of prisoners were escaping and were hastily making their way toward the Infinite Hell.

"Hey!"

Ren Arakawa's roar drew the attention of all the jailers. Before they could react, the Earth Grudge Fear tendril on his shoulder fired a blast of water that exploded in the crowd.

Inside the warden's cold office bathroom, a hair-raising, crackling sound of farts echoed.

A normal person's fart certainly wouldn't have such a terrifying effect.

But this was the fart of Magellan, the Poison Man.

The purple gas squeezed desperately out from under the door, like a zombie that hadn't seen a living person in ages, determined to give the two guards standing watch outside a taste.

The two guards held their noses and backed away.

In Impel Down, being on Magellan's shift was the hardest. A moment of carelessness could lead to inhaling poison gas and going into shock.

"The warden's been going to the bathroom a lot today. What did he eat?"

"Shh! Keep it down. I heard he got injured a while back fighting Shiryu of the Rain, so he's been eating more these past few days. If you eat more, you... you know..."

"I see..."

While the two were whispering, they completely failed to notice a figure flash by the side of the warden's office!

With a crash, glass shattered!

The two jailers exchanged a look, feeling that something was off.

"Go check it out?"

The two of them went together to the warden's office. Peeking inside, their hearts went cold.

The wall that had been covered in antidotes was now being greedily stripped bare by a young man who was stuffing them all over his body.

By the looks of it, he wouldn't leave until he had taken every last one.

"You! Who are you! What are you doing!"

A jailer's voice shouted from behind Pirate Ren Arakawa, but he had no intention of paying them any mind.

Only five antidotes left.

By the time the two jailers came to their senses and rushed into the room, Ren Arakawa had already stuffed the last five antidotes into his backpack.

The two jailers' faces were contorted with rage. Tightly gripping their thick clubs, they swung them viciously at the back of Ren Arakawa's head, the weapons whistling through the air!

Just as the clubs were about to make contact, a red light flashed in his eyes, which held the three-tomoe Sharingan!

Almost at the same instant, his body reacted. With an incredibly agile posture, he sidestepped and easily dodged the two incoming clubs.

Immediately after, his right leg shot up, muscles tightening, then swung down like a battle-ax toward the shoulder of one of the jailers.

The kick was so fast it was nearly a blur. With a dull "thud," the jailer dropped to his knees, his kneecaps slamming into the floorboards. The force was so great he couldn't even straighten his back.

Before the other jailer could recover from his shock, Ren Arakawa struck again!

His right fist clenched, whistling through the air as he threw a vicious punch toward the other jailer's face.

The jailer's eyes widened in terror. He wanted to dodge, but it was already too late.

With a sickening "crack," the jailer's skull fractured! A huge lump instantly swelled on his face, and the powerful force sent him flying.

Boosted by the powerful forms of the Cursed Seal and Gene Lock, Pirate Ren Arakawa's taijutsu abilities had undergone a qualitative leap, already reaching the level of a Jonin who doesn't specialize in taijutsu.

He was a completely different person now.

*Splash~*

*Flush~*

The sound of flushing came from the bathroom, but Pirate Ren Arakawa simply stepped over the jailers groaning in pain on the floor. He had no intention of running and waited quietly.

Magellan was also a man of simple thoughts. He came out of the bathroom, first meticulously washed his hands several times with disinfectant, tore off half a pack of paper towels to dry them, put on a new pair of gloves, pinched his nose, and walked out of the room, satisfied.

"Hello."

At the doorway, Ren Arakawa took the initiative to greet Magellan.

The Poison Man was stunned for a moment before he noticed his subordinates lying on the floor.

"You! You're that guy from last time, the one who failed to escape!"

"That's right, it's me."

Magellan looked at the prisoner before him, laden with all the antidotes, and his face instantly turned pale with rage!

He could see it clearly now; this kid was obviously here for him!

Just then, the alarm bells in Impel Down began to shriek.

An urgent voice erupted from the transponder snail on Magellan's hip!

"Prisoners are escaping from the Infinite Hell! Requesting backup! Requesting back—!"

Then, silence.

Magellan clenched his fists and glared at Ren Arakawa.

"First, I'll poison you to death, then I'll go clean up those bastards from Level Six!"

"Hah..."

Pirate Ren Arakawa took a deep breath. A syringe materialized on his arm, and he plunged it fiercely into himself!

"Then let me see for myself what this Magellan, the Poison Man said to be as strong as an Admiral, is really like!"

Magellan's eyes filled with fury. Without wasting any more words, he opened his mouth and spat out a volley of poison!

"Poison Pufferfish!"

A series of poisonous liquid spheres, reeking of a pungent odor, shot toward Ren Arakawa like cannonballs. The air hissed and corroded wherever they passed, filling with a nauseating stench!

Facing the poison that meant death on contact, Pirate Ren Arakawa remained calm and composed.

Through his three-tomoe Sharingan, the seemingly fast and furious poison spheres now moved as if in slow motion. He could clearly perceive their trajectory and speed.

At the same time, with the powerful assistance of his Observation Haki, Ren Arakawa's perceptive abilities were greatly enhanced. He quickly mapped out all possible escape routes in his mind to avoid the overwhelming barrage of poison spheres.

Ren Arakawa slightly bent his knees, his body instantly tensing. He forcefully pushed off the ground, and his entire figure vanished like a black bolt of lightning.

Using a Flash Step, and relying on his astonishing speed, Ren Arakawa nimbly weaved through the gaps between the poison spheres. Every movement was perfectly precise, allowing him to narrowly avoid the deadly globs of poison.

The poison spheres crashed into the surrounding walls and floor, setting off a series of dull explosions.

The poison splattered everywhere. Stone was instantly corroded, melting into foul-smelling puddles, while metal bars were eaten away until they were riddled with holes and on the verge of collapse.

However, Ren Arakawa appeared a short distance from Magellan, completely unharmed. His figure flickered like a ghost, making him difficult to track.

Seeing Ren Arakawa dodge the Poison Pufferfish attack, the fire of Magellan's anger burned even hotter. He decided to stop holding back!

"Poison Path!"

A large amount of poisonous liquid instantly gushed out from around Magellan's body. The liquid quickly converged on the floor to form a winding path. Magellan stepped onto the poison, as if walking on water, and charged toward Ren Arakawa at an unimaginable speed.

Seeing Magellan rushing over like that, even Ren Arakawa, who had seen the anime, felt as if he had seen a ghost.

It had to be said that Magellan had truly developed his Devil Fruit to its absolute limit.
