Chapter 918 - Chapter 256: Kana vs. Minerva

Sherria swung her arm, like the God of the Sky waving black wings.

However, the final attack wasn't the anticipated strike from the audience. Instead, the two black wings merged into one, spiraling forward like a giant black serpent.

Xiunipa still didn't choose to evade, but instead assumed a defensive stance, activating the defense magic array at full power.

The 'serpent' struck the target head-on, and the magic array shattered in less than a second. Xiunipa, clad in heavy armor, was immediately lifted off the ground.

The immense force pressed his arms back against his chest, lifting him off the ground and sending him flying backward.

The gold and crimson heavy armor drew a gentle arc in the air before crashing heavily to the ground, clanging as it rolled back a few times before stopping.

During the roll, the gauntlet on his right hand came off, and the combat boot on his right foot landed to the side.

Sherria let out a light sigh of relief. Ordinary moves are manageable, but activating the Godslayer's Secret Art is no easy task.

Fortunately, the move was effective.

The Pumpkin Man, seeing Xiunipa motionless for a moment, was about to announce the result of the match.

But then Xiunipa shakily sat up, reaching to touch his head.

After noticing the missing gauntlet, he attempted to stand up, only to find a missing combat boot, quickly picking it up and struggling to put it on, then clumsily running to pick up the gauntlet.

"You've got to be kidding me..." Sherria exclaimed incredulously, "Did it have no effect at all?"

"No, my head's a bit dizzy," Xiunipa replied honestly, "If you'd taken the opportunity to remove my helmet, you could have taken me down. You mages..."

He intended to critique the mages' combat awareness from a mercenary's perspective, but suddenly remembered he was participating in a mages' festival.

Strictly speaking, he could be considered a mage now.

Xiunipa pounded his chest twice, signaling to the camera that his armor was fine, and then charged at his opponent to resume the attack.

Sherria's combat techniques were inferior to Xiunipa's. Even with her smaller size and agility, she couldn't avoid getting hit once or twice.

Every time she fell to the ground and rolled, many in the audience showed looks of concern.

But when Sherria got up, the scratches on her body were rapidly healing.

The Sky God Slayer Magic differs from Dragon Slayer Magic; Sherria can heal her own injuries, but Wendy can't.

However, healing is a magic power-intensive task. Sherria gradually focused on the battle, forsaking healing.

She no longer attempted to brute force the armor's defenses but used more 'delicate' attack magic, trying to target the joints of the ultimate armor, aiming to remove the helmet and detach the shoulder armor pieces.

Unfortunately, she didn't succeed until time ran out.

Both Sherria's magic power and stamina were nearly depleted, and even breathing became difficult, while Xiunipa was equally exhausted, as the heavy armor was a real test of endurance.

"Sherria versus Xiunipa, a draw, Lamia Scale and Dragon's Treasure each earn five points!" the Pumpkin Man announced the match result.

Wendy finally let out a sigh of relief: "Luckily, that person didn't have strong attack magic."

Rhode shook his head: "Hard to say, maybe it's not that he didn't have it, just didn't use it."

Wendy was puzzled: "Why?"

Laxus said: "To showcase for a longer time, that advertising guild."

Rhode nodded: "I think that armor might have slots for some attack-type magic crystals, maybe even capable of assembling combinations of attack and defense by changing parts."

"What an infuriating guy." Gajeel regretted not facing that person, wanting to test the taste of that armor.

Jubia didn't care about these, "Is it Gray-sama's turn next match?"

Rhode thought not, as Gray had already fought Leon yesterday, but wisely kept silent.

"Great Demon Fighting Martial Arts Day 3, last battle of the combat segment, Fairy Tail A Team, Kana, versus Sabertooth's... Minerva!"

"Finally, it's my turn," the drunkenness faded from Kana's face, she stretched her shoulders and threw a bottle of liquor to Lucy.

"Why give it to me?" Lucy asked, smelling the strong alcohol. After seeing the label, she was shocked, "That's some strong stuff. Are you okay going to battle like this?"

"Leave it to me!" Kana confidently hopped over the railing, jumping straight down, landing gracefully.

On the other side, Minerva, in a blue cheongsam, stepped in, exuding elegance with each step.

Their auras formed a sharp contrast.

But both Kana's simple top and Minerva's high-slit, low-cut cheongsam gave the audience a feast for the eyes.

Undoubtedly, this would be a spectacular fight.

The audience erupted in applause, though most were for Minerva, who had clearly garnered considerable popularity over the years compared to the 'unseen' Kana.

"The match begins!"

At the Pumpkin Man's signal, Kana immediately took a handful of cards from her messenger bag and tossed them out.

The cards glowed with golden light, seemingly sealing off all Minerva's escape routes.

For Kana, this is a standard opener, perfect for probing an opponent's strength.

"Heh, such an attack underestimates me," Minerva's expression was haughty, she didn't move her feet, just raised a hand.

A colorful orb appeared in her palm, absorbing the cards that could have hit her, leaving no trace.

Other cards bypassed her, exploding on the ground or embedding themselves in it.

Minerva slightly turned her head, taking note of the cards stuck in the ground.

Kana observed the recent magic and pondered, "Space Element?"

Minerva chuckled lightly, "Your perception is commendable."

"Ugh, that aloof attitude is infuriating!" Kana pinched two cards out of thin air like a trick, "Emperor's Wind Blade, Sun's Bursting Flame!"

Two cards flew out, forming a wind blade and a burst flame, shooting left and right towards Minerva.

However, Minerva effortlessly blocked the flame and wind blade with similar magic.

This time, instead of absorbing, she blocked them.

Kana frowned. Was it two kinds of magic or one? It was hard to distinguish from the appearance.

At this moment, Minerva stepped back, merging into a colorful space that quickly swirled and disappeared.

Kana was momentarily surprised, then leaped forward.

A long leg emerged from the void, sweeping across, the gust from the leg whipping Kana's long hair.

Minerva flicked her hand, tossing colorful spheres as Kana tumbled to dodge, shattering the floor where she had been standing with loud booms.

Kana quickly corrected her stance, focusing on her opponent, "Space Element is such a nuisance!"
