Naoya and Satoru moved at their max speeds.
Satoru, being the faster one for long-distance travel, arrived at Kyoto almost immediately.
He stood over the city and took off his blindfold to check the surroundings with his [Six Eyes].
For now, there wasn't any abnormal cursed spirit activity, though there was indeed a massive spike at the location where the Kyoto branch of the Jujutsu HQ was located.
And he clearly recognised this cursed energy spike.
"I really hoped for a reunion, but ain't this too loud for a reunion?"
Gojo took a deep breath before he used [Blue] to teleport to the Kyoto branch.
However, while he was mid-flight, his body suddenly came to a halt.
"Hmm?"
Gojo was a bit surprised that he was stopped.
He looked in front of him. It was a curtain that was blocking his path.
He touched the curtain, and the moment his hand made contact with it, a massive force repelled him back.
Gojo looked at his hand, which was slightly damaged, though it healed almost immediately thanks to RCT.
"Am I uninvited to the reunion? How sad."
Satoru looked down. The veil blocked his path, but he could still see what was going on inside.
In there, various sorcerers were fighting against a familiar lava cyclops cursed spirit.
-----
With each swipe of Jogo's hand, a wave of lava erupted out of the ground and engulfed a group of sorcerers heading towards him.
Jogo ran ahead as he saw a few sorcerers survive and dodge his attack before he grabbed one of the sorcerers by his face and erupted his head with flames.
"Yo! Lava Cyclops!"
Jogo stopped for a moment and looked up.
There he was.
The man who fought and humiliated him the other day was Satoru Gojo.
Seeing that Jogo had his attention, Satoru gave a wave and pointed towards the veil.
"It seems that I am a bit uninvited to the party."
Satoru pointed at the curtain that seemed to somehow stop him.
"Really? Then I guess you should not come to this party....and ruin the fun for others."
Jogo pointed his hand towards a different direction and fired a massive blast of flames, incinerating everything in its path.
"AHHH!!!!"
"S-S-STOP IT!!!"
"H-H-HELP!!!"
The screams erupted as the sorcerers saw the flames heading their way.
Gojo saw the damage that was being caused right in front of his eyes and took a deep breath.
"Give the weaklings a bit of hope, and they start acting up."
Satoru loosened a button on his uniform and placed his hands on the curtain.
"You know lava cyclops... I have a bad habit of crashing parties that I want to go to."
[Maximum Technique: Shimmering White]
The space around Satoru's arms started shaking rapidly as it got pulled and repelled at massive speeds.
The space began to quake, and a moment later, the entire curtain started shaking as well.
Jogo felt that the veil that he set up was being destroyed as seconds passed by.
'He really is going to be the biggest trouble in our goal.'
Without thinking twice, Jogo shifted to the second phase of his plan.
He bent down and had his cursed technique course through it.
Multiple little volcanoes started to sprout out of the ground as the shaking of the earth got stronger, and a large area of the destroyed and charred land was covered with the volcanoes.
"What are those little bumps gonna do? Tickle me?" Satoru asked with a smirk and, with one final push, broke through the curtain.
Using [Purple] would have been faster, but without knowing if there were survivors alive, he couldn't just recklessly fire it at the cursed spirit.
[White] was more controlled and equally destructive, so it was the safer option, even though it took a few seconds more.
*SHATTER!!!*
"Haha, Cyclops-kun~ I am here to kill you today~"
Satoru declared with a huge smile on his face.
Jogo didn't respond; he simply pumped as much CE as possible before he stood back on his feet and joined his hands together.
[Ember Insects- Swarm]
The volcanoes started glowing, and a moment later, they erupted.
Though there was no lava coming from them.
The thing that came out of the volcanoes was insect-shaped curses.
Gojo looked at them; each of those bugs was a semi-grade-1 level curse-level threat.
...Still not an issue for him. With [Infinity], the bugs won't even be grazing him.
"Oh my~ I forgot my bug repellent. Whatever will I do? Cyclops-kun, you won't attack me with those insects, right?"
Satoru asked with a playful tone.
Usually, Jogo would have been furious at the way Satoru was taking him lightly.
However, right now he wasn't angry; on the contrary, he was laughing with a huge smile on his face.
"Really, okay, I won't attack you then. You forgot your bug repellent after all....well, these things will need to hit something though, can't have them left hanging now, can we.....Oh, I just have a great idea."
*SNAP*
Jogo snapped his fingers, and instantly the bugs started to buzz and started flying around at rapid speed.
Satoru thought that the bugs would still come attacking him.
However, not even a single bug came towards him.
Satoru looked at them with confusion before he realised what was happening, and all the playfulness on his face disappeared.
The cursed lava bugs weren't coming towards him, they simply scattered around.....and were heading to the city.
"Now then, Satoru Gojo, you have two opt-"
"Shut it."
Satoru teleported directly in front of him and looked at Jogo with a cold look on his face.
Without even listening to what he had to say, Satoru grabbed Jogo and yeeted him into the sky towards a horde of insects.
He spared one cold glance at Jogo as [Red] and [Blue] formed for a moment before they merged.
[Imaginary Technique: Hollow Purple]
A violet glow surrounded Satoru before he fired the giant mass of devastating, cursed energy at Jogo.
Seeing [Purple], Jogo's eyes widened with shock.
He could feel instinctively that if he touched it, he would perish.
CE gathered in his body, and an instant later, flames erupted out of his arms and legs, and he blasted himself diagonally forward to run away and dodge the attack.
"You really are something else, Satoru Gojo! You really are the biggest hurdle for us. Unfortunately, I will be taking my leave now. If you want to follow me, then be my guest....though my insects are not that patient. Also, you'd better look around you!"
Jogo smirked at Satoru.
Gojo knew what the curse was talking about.
The mini volcanoes around him erupted once again, and [Ember Insects] came out once again.
"They will continue to hatch for a while. Have fun at the party with them."
Jogo turned around and started his retreat.
Gojo Satoru may be strong, but at the end of the day, he was a human with a heart to save the others of his worthless kind.
Satoru looked at the sky.
It was filled with the damn bugs.
Without hesitation, Satoru teleported beside Jogo and grabbed his head.
"Rule 1: Never underestimate Satoru Gojo."
With Jogo in hand, Satoru's hand glowed [Red] as he blasted him once again towards the bug swarm.
With contained [Blue] in hand, Satoru took a deep breath and calculated the location of every [Ember Insect] in sight and even calculated the expected path that they would take in a few seconds.
After mentally forming a map and placing [Blue] pointers on the path, Gojo's body blurred.
A bluish blur travelled across the sky as Gojo pulled in every [Ember Insect] with the [Blue] in his hands and took them away from the city.
Jogo's eyes widened in shock, seeing the speed at which his [Ember Insects] were disappearing from his sight and being gathered into what he could barely make out as an orb.
A moment later, Jogo felt something hit his face and slightly turned around, only to see Satoru Gojo with a cold look on his face, kicking him.
"You-"
Before he could even make up a proper word, Jogo felt his body travel through the sky at massive speed and crash into the ground.
Seeing the cursed spirit crash, Satoru snorted.
"And they say I am not sane. Would an insane man be able to save the day like me?"
Satoru increased the power of his [Blue] to pull in the gathered insects and crush them on the spot.
He looked towards the ground and saw Jogo's heavily damaged body start to stand back on his feet.
Satoru smirked.
For an added dramatic effect, Satoru descended towards the curse slowly.
"It's kinda rude for the host to leave the party."
Jogo spat out some purplish blood from his mouth and glared hatefully at Gojo.
"Oh my~ You angy~ Aww~ So cute~"
Satoru ruthlessly grabbed Jogo's head and slammed it on the ground.
"The funny thing is. I am angry as well. You caused far too much destruction for trying to grab my attention."
With his face planted in the ground, Jogo didn't say anything for a while.
A moment later, though, his body started shaking.
"Ha Ha Hahaha"
Muffled sounds of laughter escaped Jogo's mouth.
"Getting your attention....Well, I guess you are kinda right about that."
Satoru didn't flinch at that.
Even Tokyo HQ and the school were attacked.
If he had to take a guess, then they were causing a distraction and separating forces.
"As a soon-to-be-dead curse, would you be interested in telling me what your real goal is?"
Satoru asked with a smile on his face.
Jogo's face was still planted in the ground.
Jogo didn't say anything.
Satoru didn't act immediately. He could kill this curse at any instant, but getting information from it would be far more valuable.
"..."
"..."
"..."
"...Oi! I don't have all day! What are you waiting for?"
"The bugs."
"Bugs?"
Satoru muttered in confusion. What bugs?
Suddenly, his ears caught a buzzing sound.
He immediately turned around.
No bugs were coming out of the little volcanoes.
Then, where is the buzzing sound coming from?
"Your silence really is loud right now, Satoru Gojo."
Jogo, with a lot of effort under Satoru's grip, looked up.
"Want a hint?" Jogo asked with a shit-eating grin.
Satoru didn't like that expression one bit.
"Well, as a 'soon-to-be-dead curse', I will give you the hint anyway. You see, not all bugs are the flying types....some are also capable of burrowing and moving underground."
Gojo's eyes widened in realization and he looked down.
The [Six Eyes] were showing him movement there.
"You were nimble in the sky and could save the town, but what about below the ear-"
"Rule 2: Never forget Rule 1."
Now that he knew where the bugs were, thanks to [Six Eyes], Gojo quickly calculated their coordinates in his head and used pinpoint [Blue] at their locations to pull in and crush those bugs while they were still below the surface.
Jogo felt the connection with all his [Ember Insects] die down, and with his singular eye looked at Gojo as if he was looking at the world's most unfair anomaly.
Gojo looked at Jogo's face and gave a bright smile, and pointed at himself.
"See, you trash could never outclass me," said Gojo cheerfully.
