Chapter 28 - chapter 26: café!

"Heh... You didn't even hurt me at all," I sneered.

The glowing energy shield surrounding me shattered into glittering fragments. Right in front of me, Beelzebub stood frozen, his body impaled by a dozen jagged, by bones.

"Get dunked on..."

With a snap of my fingers, multiple Gaster Blasters materialized in the air, their jaws unhinging. They fired simultaneously. A blinding torrent of white energy engulfed Beelzebub, his body glowing a violent green before completely dissolving into nothingness.

Up in the VIP stands, the gods were having a collective meltdown. Zeus was leaning so far over the railing he looked ready to tumble straight into the arena, his jaw practically unhinged in shock. Beside him, Odin stared down into the crater with a terrifying, calculated glare.

On the human side, the crowd erupted. Millions of spectators surged to their feet, roaring so loud the entire colosseum shook to its foundations.

"I-I DON'T BELIEVE IT!" Heimdall screamed into his horn, his hands trembling violently. "BEELZEBUB HAS BEEN DEFEATED!"

"Nothing I can't do," I muttered.

Before the crowd could even process the victory, a swirling dimensional vortex opened beneath my feet. I stepped back, letting gravity take me as I dropped straight into the portal.

The transition was instantaneous. When I opened my eyes, the roaring stadium was gone, replaced by a sprawling, modern cityscape. But I didn't even have time to catch my breath before the heavy thud of mechanical footsteps echoed down the street.

A massive, armored mecha towered over me, its weapons primed.

"Surrender now!" a voice boomed from the mecha's cockpit speakers.

"Right... Nope," I said.

A sleek jetpack materialized onto my back. I ignited the thrusters, rocketing down the asphalt.

"Target is escaping! Requesting reinforcements!" the pilot shouted into his comms.

"Can't get me!" I barked out a laugh, zigzagging through the air as the mecha opened fire. Bullets chewed up the pavement behind me, but I dodged every single round with ease.

Suddenly, a flash of pink caught my eye. A magical girl holding a stylized wand materialized directly in my path.

"Magical Flash Flare!" she cried out.

*BOOM!*

The explosive blast caught me dead-on, launching me straight into the hard ground.

"Tsk..." I groaned, dusting myself off as I pushed myself back up.

I looked up, squinting against the glare. Hovering in the sky above us was a woman dressed in a military uniform. A halo of dozens of flashing, unsheathed sabers floated in a perfect circle around her.

Before I could analyze her, a familiar holographic blue window pinged in my field of vision.

[MISSION OBJECTIVE: SURVIVE

Reward: New Items, 10,000,000,000 Points, Café.]

"...Heh. Survive? That's easy for me," I muttered, a smirk tugging at my lips.

The floating military girl stared down at me coldly. "Who are you?"

"I am the great Agnes Tachyon! The greatest mind in the world!" I threw my arms out, letting out a manic, echoing laugh.

she started to speak, but I didn't care to hear it.

With a heavy, metallic THUD, a towering robot materialized beside me. Furnace.

"Target spotted," Furnace's mechanical voice droned. His thrusters roared to life, and he charged headfirst toward the floating military girl. "Primary directive: elimination of the target."

Before she could reposition her swords, Furnace slammed into her with brutal force, sending her crashing through the brick wall of a nearby building.

"Magical Flash Flare!"

The pink-haired magical girl was behind me again, firing another spell. But before the magic could touch me, metal intercepted it. Neo Metal Sonic deployed a shimmering energy shield, absorbing the blast flawlessly.

"Weak," Metal Sonic hissed.

With blinding speed, his fist buried itself deep into the magical girl's gut, sending her flying across the plaza. The mecha pilot panicked, turning his miniguns on Metal Sonic and unleashing a hail of lead. Metal Sonic didn't even blink. He dodged the bullets effortlessly, closed the distance, and backhanded the mecha so hard it embedded itself into the side of a concrete building.

Meanwhile, a few blocks over, Furnace was pressing his advantage.

"Locking on," Furnace droned, his back panels sliding open. A volley of miniature missiles streaked into the sky, tracking the military girl.

Using her telekinetic control, she whipped her sabers through the air, systematically detonating the missiles in a chain of mid-air explosions.

"Tsk..." she muttered.

She conjured a PPSh-41 submachine gun, but instead of firing it, she drew a bow across it like a violin. A massive wave of summoned swords materialized, raining down on Furnace. Furnace dodged the incoming blades, but the distraction cost him. The girl closed the distance instantly, delivering a devastating punch straight to his metallic face.

CRASH!

Furnace was hurled through the air, smashing into a storefront.

"Warning. Heavy damage to sensors. Combat ability is down 10%," Furnace reported, his gears grinding as he forced himself back up. He analyzed the girl hovering above him. "Probability of winning is 70%... Scanning... You are young and arrogant. You won't win against Mother... Making temporary retreat."

Engaging his thrusters, Furnace flew back toward my position, the military girl hot on his trail.

Back at the crossroads, a few more people had arrived alongside a woman who seemed to be leading them. I found myself surrounded by a cast of characters I didn't recognize.

"Mind telling me who you are and why you're attacking me?" I asked, crossing my arms and looking at the woman.

"If you surrender yourself, we will tell you everything you want to know," she replied calmly, her hand resting on the hilt of her sword.

"That's a bit rude. But if you don't mind telling me your name first, let me start. I am Agnes Tachyon, a Uma Musume. What about you?"

"Surrender first," she demanded.

"Well, it was worth a try," I sighed, spreading my arms wide. "But don't think I will go easy on you. You're still blocking my way."

I summoned a pair of massive, glowing gauntlets over my hands.

"Heh. These gauntlets use nuclear power to operate. Like so!"

Before they could even register my movement, I vanished. I reappeared instantly in front of a large man in their vanguard, burying my fist into his side. The kinetic and nuclear discharge sent him flying through the air, crashing straight through the front windows of a nearby café.

"Take her down!" the leading woman yelled, drawing her sword and charging at me.

"Weak."

I didn't even dodge. Thrusting my palm forward, I unleashed a raw blast of nuclear energy directly into her stomach. The concussive force sent her crashing hard into the dirt.

"Might be a bit too strong..." I muttered, desummoning the gauntlets. I was about to call forth a less destructive weapon when a heavy mass of metal crashed into the ground next to me.

It was Furnace. Dozens of glowing swords were pierced through his chassis, sparking violently.

"War...ning... system... down..." Furnace's visor flickered, his voice dropping. "... shutting down..."

"You did well, Furnace," I said softly, waving my hand to desummon his broken body. I looked up into the sky, where the military girl was floating, looking down at us with absolute disdain.

"Your toys are weak," she mocked.

I felt a twitch in my eye. A crazy, unhinged smile slowly spread across my face. "Heh... If you're not willing to run, then Sage and I will have to initiate our plan."

I raised my voice, shouting into the sky. "Metal!"

Neo Metal Sonic, who had been keeping the magical girl at bay, instantly broke off engagement. Using Chaos Control, he teleported directly to my side.

"Metal, handle the girl flying up there. I have someone special to handle the rest of them."

Metal Sonic vanished, reappearing a split second later in front of the military girl. Before she could swing a single sword, his foot connected with her jaw, launching her into the upper atmosphere.

"Get a load of this!" I laughed.

A massive, hulking figure in Advanced Power Armor slammed into the pavement with a bone-shattering thud. Frank Horrigan.

"Frank. Kill them," I ordered.

Frank didn't say a word. He raised his massive minigun and plasma weaponry, unleashing a devastating wall of fire upon the remaining group. When they tried to fire back, the bullets simply pinged uselessly off his reinforced power armor.

"Magical Flash Flare!"

The pink-haired girl had snuck up behind me again. The explosion detonated right at my heels, blasting me backward into a nearby brick wall. The mecha from earlier immediately seized the opportunity, hovering over me with all its weapons locked onto my head.

"Smart," I muttered as the barrels began to spin.

"But I've had enough of this."

I snapped my fingers and vanished, reappearing high in the sky. A terrifying, sickly green aura began to swirl around my body, bleeding into the clouds above.

"From the void they came, a cursed flame, the C'tan gods they named!, and I shall be eternal transform!"

I invoked the power, deliberately limiting myself to just *one* low-tier C'tan shard so I wouldn't accidentally crack the planet in half. The sky turned an apocalyptic shade of green as cosmic energy surged through my veins.

Down below, the magical girl's eyes widened in sheer terror. "How can she have this kind of power?!"

The mecha pilot was frantically screaming into his radio, his console lighting up with error messages. "We found her information! She's Agnes Tachyon, a Uma Musume from the anime *Uma Musume Pretty Derby*! But there's absolutely no information about her having this kind of power!"

"And I think we just pissed her off," the magical girl whispered, staring up at me.

With a flick of my wrist, a shockwave of telekinetic force slammed into the mecha, sending it hurtling into the ground. The machine shattered into pieces, leaving the pilot bruised but miraculously alive.

"That big guy in the armor disappeared when she... turned into *that*!" one of the ground combatants yelled in panic.

Hovering in the center of the green nebula, I looked down at them like bugs.

"You pray to gods for your salvation. I will shatter gods in revelation."

I raised my hand, raining down barrages of cosmic energy that tore the surrounding streets to pieces, completely reshaping the battlefield.

"Even with one C'tan shard, the output is immense," I mused, summoning a spear of pure, crackling energy.

Suddenly, a system window popped up right in front of my face, flashing a bright, panicked red.

[Yooo, chill out! I said SURVIVE, not DESTROY! Return back to normal right now!]

I stared at the text box for a second, the cosmic aura flickering. "...Fine."

With a sigh, I let the C'tan energy dissipate, reverting back to my base Uma Musume form before gently drifting back down to the ruined street.

The mecha pilot groaned from the rubble. "Are we dead?"

"Nope," the magical girl said, rubbing her aching head. "It seems we were spared."

I walked up to them, a sweet, dangerous smile plastered on my face. "So... mind telling me all the information I need now?"

Meanwhile, across the city, the battle between Neo Metal Sonic and the military girl, Altair, was reaching a boiling point.

"You won't beat me, machine," Altair said coldly. A shifting cage of hundreds of sabers surrounded Metal Sonic from all angles.

Metal Sonic's red optics glowed in the dark. "You... you have no sign of stopping. The souls of all... do you call yourself a god?"

"I don't understand how you thought you could take me down," Altair replied smoothly.

"I have already won this round," Metal Sonic retorted.

A massive blast of blue energy erupted from his chest core, targeting Altair. She bypassed it instantly, teleporting directly behind him and slamming him into the concrete. She unleashed a volley of swords to pin him down, but Metal Sonic deployed a diamond-hard energy shield, deflecting the blades.

Transitioning instantly into a *Spin Dash*, Metal Sonic became a blue blur, ricocheting off the surrounding skyscrapers to build momentum before rocketing toward the back of Altair's head.

Pop.

Altair teleported out of the way. She reappeared right in his trajectory, delivering a brutal kick straight to his chest chassis that launched him high into the clouds, only to appear above him and spike him back down into the earth.

BOOM!

The crater smoked.

"Warning. Heavy damage detected," Metal Sonic's internal systems droned, his HUD flashing red.

Altair floated down, her sabers humming. "Let me ask you a question. Do you feel fear?"

"Not anymore," Metal Sonic replied coldly. He opened a secure data link. *—Contacting Agnes.—*

Back with my group, I was tapping my chin thoughtfully.

"Ok, so you're telling me that I am a fictional character, and that my creator is actually here in this world?" I asked.

"Yep. Pretty much," Selesia replied, leaning on her sword, completely exhausted.

Suddenly, a holographic projection of a young girl appeared next to me. **Sage**.

"Mother, Metal Sonic is requesting permission to use *that* form..." Sage reported.

I hummed, looking toward the distant explosions echoing from the other side of the city. "Mhm... Not even his Neo form can stop her, huh? Very well. Tell him I have sent the Egg Carrier to his coordinates... He knows what to do."

"Understood," Sage said, dissolving into data particles.

Selesia blinked, looking around nervously. "What was that?"

I just smirked, looking up at the sky. "Just enjoy the fireworks."

Back at the crater, Altair was standing over the battered form of Metal Sonic. The surrounding blocks had been completely leveled by their clash.

"It's over. I win," Altair said, raising her hand to summon the final strike of swords.

Metal Sonic lay still. "..."

"Cat got your tongue?" she mocked.

*Beep.*

"Bio-data copied," Metal Sonic's mechanical voice resonated. His red optics flickered violently as a shadow suddenly loomed over the entire district.

A massive, flying dreadnought the Egg Carrier materialized directly out of thin air, blotting out the sun.

"What?!" Altair gasped, her composure breaking.

Before she could react, Metal Sonic initiated *Chaos Control*, teleporting directly onto the deck of the colossal airship.

"You can't get away from me!" Altair snarled, teleporting up to the deck a second later to finish him.

But Metal Sonic wasn't running. He stood at the center of the ship, his limbs expanding as cables ripped from his chassis, plugging directly into the core of the fortress.

"Not running... transforming."

Altair watched in genuine shock as the massive, miles-long alloy ship began to collapse inward, its metal turning into liquid data as it was violently absorbed into Metal Sonic's body. The sky tore open as the machine grew, morphing into a colossal, draconic mechanical god. **Metal Overlord**.

Watching the giant robotic dragon roar from the rooftop of a distant building, I giggled, sitting cross-legged next to a few of the stunned Creators.

"All part of my plan... I can't wait to get my café."
