Chapter 1129 - Chapter 1066: Underground War

I don't know what kind of danger the rest of the S.H.I.E.L.D. squad encountered, causing Daisy to recklessly use her superpowers underground. We must remember that there's trillions of tons of soil and rocks above us, and triggering an earthquake here is not a good idea.

However, her actions were not without benefits, as they allowed Su Ming to directly pinpoint her location.

As a Symbiote, Strangulation is extremely sensitive to various sound waves and vibrations. It immediately transmitted the distance and direction of the quake source to its host's mind.

There wasn't much of a bloody smell in the air, but as they advanced, the black fog gradually thickened, and occasionally, through the red visor, they could see television-like static particles.

It seems this direction is correct, and the Zero Material is also in this direction.

However, the four of them were now moving quickly in the new tunnel, whose walls were clearly not made by human craftsmanship, more like insect tunnels, with the inner wall unusually smooth, including the ground beneath.

If it weren't insufficiently steep, it could perhaps be used as a slide for fun.

"Prepare for battle. I'm going to start arranging tactical targets now, as everyone will need to block their ears in a moment. First, there's the other members of the S.H.I.E.L.D. squad, all humans, currently allies. We will do our utmost to ensure their survival."

Sitting on the magic floating cloak transformed into a flying carpet, the space is narrow, allowing only four people to form a queue, so the cloak needs to frequently adjust according to the bends or ascents and descents of the passage, making the four of them look like they're riding a dough stick.

Fitz and Jemma breathed a sigh of relief, as they had been secretly planning to enlist Deathstroke's help, but now they didn't even need to bring it up as he took the initiative.

This gave them a constant sense of having turned very dark, even some guilt.

However, before they could express their apologies, Deathstroke's next sentence gave them a deadpan stare, as he said, "Quake Daisy is the most valuable, next is Agent Coulson, and as for the others, if we can't save them, so be it."

"But we still have over a dozen other people."

Jemma was a bit unwilling, she was never a qualified agent in the traditional sense, a bit soft-hearted, with plenty of emotional thinking.

"Who do you think I am? Captain America? Keep talking, and I'll sell you to Cambodia." The red visor turned towards Jemma, showing no emotion at all.

Jemma shrank back into Fitz's arms, lowering her head in fear, unsure why she felt that if she didn't comply, something very terrifying might happen.

Fitz quickly patted the top of her head to soothe her, holding her tightly in his arms, the two curling up together.

Su Ming didn't mind, he continued to speak to Wong seated at the end of the flying carpet, "If the enemy are Longevity People, ensure your ears are blocked first, then use the Void Teleportation Gate to work with my Time Gem. If the enemy is the Leviathan's Dark Converter, leave it to Daisy and me to handle, you use the Magic Shield to protect important targets. If there are unexpected situations... I'll handle them, you take the Shield Squad and retreat first."

"Understood, Master." Wong readily agreed, tightening the face scarf tied around his face with his reverse hand, his eyes showing eagerness.

Hearing this, the scientific duo lifted their heads again, as Deathstroke himself stayed behind and asked the mage to lead them in retreat. Did they misunderstand him previously? Was he actually a superhero, tough on the outside but soft-hearted?

But as soon as this thought appeared in their minds, both of their heads uncontrollably shook like rattles, as if trying to shake this thought out of their heads.

Based on historical records, Deathstroke is definitely not a superhero, but a weirdo whose stance is never clear.

"Block your ears, contact in three seconds, three, two, one!"

Accompanied by the roaring wind, the view suddenly opened up.

The cloak brought them into a vast underground space, below which was an unprecedented cityscape.

An underground city, accessed through the winding underground passage, choosing the correct one among countless forks, entered into an underground city deep below the earth's crust.

Buildings made of black unknown materials were closely packed and haphazardly piled together like layers of shoe boxes forming tall tower-like structures, with simple suspension bridges or ropes connecting these towers.

Strange glowing plants filled the entire dome of the space, illuminating everything in a vibrant array of colors.

Tall black towers, surrounded by chaotic stone shanties, masses of peculiar-looking underground Demons traversing the city, occasionally their shadows flitting past windows and doorways.

The underground race built their structures around the massive stone pillars supporting the dome, expanding like a spindle winding line, then connecting with other pillars through various means, ultimately forming a sprawling city suspended above the Endless Abyss.

This is the convergence of nature and civilization, as if the inside of a termite mound magnified innumerable times, and no one knows what lies in the bottomless abyss below.

"Strangulation, where's the quake source?"

After entering the open space, Su Ming took a glance at the chaotic scene below, unsure which factions were thoroughly entangled in battle. He decided to find Coulson and the others first to assess the situation.

So he mentally asked Strangulation if it could pinpoint their location.

Accompanied by the cloak's high-speed flight through the air currents between one large and small rock pillar crevice, a small bulge emerged on his shoulder armor, then turned into a bean sprout-like small tentacle, pointing in a direction.

It can provide the host with a 360-degree all-seeing view without blind spots, combined with Deathstroke's top-notch spatial thinking ability and photographic memory, complimented by the Magic Floating Cloak's energy sensing ability, making the Supreme Mage a cosmic living probe.

After Strangulation pointed out the way, Su Ming had the cloak adjust its direction, and the density of the black fog here was not as high as imagined. He soon saw the S.H.I.E.L.D. squad.

However, he couldn't help but marvel, looking at the entire underground city's layout from a bird's-eye view, which roughly resembled a tattered irregular spider web, with Coulson and his group at the very center of it.

They had cut off the many suspension bridges leading to the central high tower, leaving only one route for defense. Fortunately, with the city in chaos with battles among various factions, they managed to hold their ground.

It's likely they were surrounded by the returning Longevity People and pursuing Leviathan, drawing the attention of the underground city's natives, resulting in this scene.

But aside from these two groups, there were other factions present, whose affiliations Su Ming couldn't yet discern.

In the chaotic multi-faction battlefield, there were all sorts of weapons, from bows and spears to guns and cannons, as well as energy guns and energy swords. It was like a military technology history museum.

"Interesting."

Beneath the mask, Su Ming smiled briefly, patting the cloak, which intuitively dove down, bringing the four of them to cover behind Coulson, hovering silently in mid-air.

Originally a little taken aback, holding a gun pointed at the descending figures, Coulson quickly donned that familiar business smile on his face.
