Chapter 868 - Chapter 823: Strange Foresight

The second target is the Inquirer, to be precise, the key in his hand.

The so-called Key of the Seventh Day, Key of the Supreme Heaven, Key of Eden, all refer to it. It appears to be just an ordinary brass key, without any peculiar characteristics.

Pandora's and Judas's sins are almost universally known, while the Inquirer is a rather peculiar existence among the Three Original Sins. His sin is unknown to anyone, and he is the only one among the trio who does not believe he is guilty.

However, whether he acknowledges it or not is irrelevant; if God says he is guilty, then he is guilty. Moreover, the Eternal Council also knew of his crime, but unfortunately, they were all killed by Luthor.

Su Ming speculates that the Inquirer is one of DC's best detectives; his sin is probably knowing something he shouldn't, such as the secret of God.

But this is just speculation, with no evidence.

He only needs that key for Oliver to complete his set. As for whether the Inquirer ate God's rice, he doesn't care.

The function of that key is not as numerous as the Stranger's necklace, but it can teleport the bearer to the gates of Heaven from any corner of any universe.

Moreover, as the first key since the Creation, it can open any lock in the world.

Yes, any lock, even if it requires IC cards or voice recognition to open, using this key will work the same.

This should be some kind of rule, called the rule of unlocking, as the key symbolizes the solution to locks and represents the power to pursue answers.

The Inquirer has a total of three generations: the first generation, Charles Sase, a reporter from Hub City and one of Lois Lane's admirers, as well as a high school classmate.

The second generation is Renee Montoya from the P52 era, an officer at the Gotham Police Station, under Gordon, a member of the Humiliation Squad, a colleague of Katastrophe, and also the girlfriend of Batwoman, Kate Kane.

The identity of the N52 Inquirer is a mystery; almost no one knows his true identity, but it's not without clues, as he has certain relations with the Leviathan's Black Witch.

As long as Diana goes to Leviathan, she should be able to inquire about his contact information; Wonder Woman has such an edge.

The Inquirer is the weakest on paper among the Three Original Sins, yet the strongest in actual combat; his martial arts are not bad, about on par with Black Canary.

This sounds ordinary, but every time Superman has an issue, as long as he is trapped on Earth, the Inquirer often appears in time to rescue him, because there is no door in this world that can block him.

His weapon of choice is a flashlight and fists, of course, he also carries a revolver, and he never hesitates to shoot when necessary.

Therefore, Su Ming's teleportation gate directly sent the three outside the Detroit headquarters of the Leviathan. Diana obediently went inside to ask Amanda for information, while Su Ming and Oliver leaned against the door smoking under the soldiers' curious gaze.

Oliver was still somewhat resentful about Amanda capturing him last time, but more than that, he wore a heavy expression.

After wearing the Sin Money Necklace, he always felt himself deep in sin. Even if he didn't know what sins he had committed, he simply wanted to do something for the world to make amends.

Su Ming remarked that these are minor issues; he is a superhero after all, and doing good works more could not be bad.

Why not take this time to familiarize yourself with the magical abilities bestowed by the necklace; they could come in handy during battle.

Not to mention, suddenly teleporting behind someone to shoot an arrow is quite powerful. It's unclear whether DC has a siege crossbow backstab trope, but he suggested Green Arrow give it a try.

However, when backstabbing the Laughing Bat, remember to use the N-Metal Arrowhead.

The weather in Detroit is nice, stars can be seen here. While Oliver experimented with his abilities, Su Ming merely gazed at the starry sky, silently.

"That's about it; these abilities seem almost innate, not difficult to grasp," Green Arrow tried his new abilities one by one, even he couldn't help but reveal a smile on his face.

"Oh? Have you tried the psychic ability?" Su Ming turned his head and asked, "It won't work on me, try it on them."

Saying this, he pointed to the soldiers patrolling outside the door. Logically, they should be driving the Justice League members away, but they knew even if they combined all their forces, they wouldn't be a match for Wonder Woman.

So when the Zorro from the movie pointed at them, their expressions were peculiar, a look of anger that dared not be expressed.

Oliver, taking the hint, complied. Sweat more in practice, sweat less in battle, indeed, and he used the psychic ability on the soldiers.

Green Arrow narrowed his eyes, as if green light overflowed from them: "That guy, he hid 300 H magazines under his bed. Unbelievable that someone still likes print magazines in this day and age..."

The soldier he pointed out blushed deeply. Wasn't there any privacy at all?! Even worse, those magazines were surely going to be borrowed by bastards!

Oliver paid no attention to an ordinary soldier's reaction. In fact, he saw far more secrets, he just chose to disclose the most irrelevant one.

He then pointed to a strong Latin soldier: "You're wearing Star-Spangled Banner patterned underwear and trying to get your roommate to pick up the soap tonight!"

The soldier not only didn't get angry but threw a flirtatious wink at Green Arrow, making Su Ming break out in goosebumps.

Green Arrow opened his mouth, unsure what to say. He quickly switched targets, but the more he looked, the more helpless he seemed, eventually just shaking his head at Su Ming.

"No wonder there's only one with H-books in this squad, because everyone else likes men, not interested in women..."

Gordon indicated enough, that's how it is with the US Army, the stance on homosexuality is 'don't ask, don't tell', in a tacitly accepted state, but is the proportion of this among the Celestial Eye Association's elites a bit high?

Out of 12 people on patrol, 11 are gay, what is this? A modern 'buddy cavalry'?

He shook his head, "Looks like you've mastered mind reading too, try the divination art. You should be able to see some vague fragments, say them out and we'll analyze together."

"Is what you see completely random?" Oliver reached out, touched the necklace, and tried to activate the ability.

"Yes, maybe you'll foresee a polar bear using the bathroom in the future, or you might foresee where Laughing Bat will appear, but it's indeed random."

"Ugh... is this ability useful?" Oliver looked constipated, who cares about the polar bear's digestive system?!

Gordon patted his shoulder and comforted, "Everyday when you have free time, just activate the foresight, out of ten thousand times, there's bound to be once it will be useful, right? Maybe it will be critical information? Even if it's related to a friend, it's not bad."

"That's true... but is my luck that good?" Oliver evidently had a sense of his own luck.

"Don't worry, I don't know if you've heard, when you owe enough debt, you become a super noble." Gordon explained patiently, conveying his thoughts, "Originally, your luck wasn't good enough, you would miss every little action, but now it's different. Once my plan succeeds, you will be the man bearing the sins of the entire world, God surely won't let 'bad luck' delay your redemption..."

"My way to atone is to be a hero, to protect the world." Oliver understood, it turns out Deathstroke has already thought of using God's power to counteract destiny, how did he think of this move?

"Exactly, keep it up in the future." Gordon smiled at him with relief, bringing the topic back, "Now try and see how the foresight effect is."

Oliver nodded confidently, his face full of gratitude, he pressed the necklace in his hand and closed his eyes.

But originally with a smiling face, his expression gradually turned serious, his eyebrows tightly furrowed, his head involuntarily tilted slightly.

Quickly, he opened his eyes, looked at Gordon, and said heavily, "I saw it, I saw the future, I saw Batman crying uncontrollably..."

Gordon took a deep breath.

The divination art from Heaven cannot be wrong, but how could Batman possibly cry?!

Bruce might cry, but Batman is the bloodless, tearless totem of Gotham, a totem representing darkness and fear, how could it cry?

If Oliver had said he foresaw Bo Bo suddenly shedding the black fur like autumn clothing, transforming into a handsome young man, going to South Korea to join a boy band and perform energetic songs and dances, Gordon wouldn't be this shocked.

But Batman showing emotions? How is that possible?

Silence filled the space between them, Gordon pondered for a while, and finally just nodded, indicating that he understood.

Before his plan is completed, Batman can only pray for more blessings, otherwise, even if Gordon's group went to Gotham, the situation might still not be optimistic if they ran into the Mad Laugh.

However, he still asked almost stubbornly, "Are you sure Batman didn't have onions or wasabi paste in his hands? Or Joker didn't release a 'laugh till you cry' version of laughing gas?"

"No... no, I only saw Batman's face, he was still wearing his helmet, looking like he had a mental breakdown, tears just streaming out from under the mask..." Oliver said worriedly, feeling uneasy.

He didn't have foresight ability before, and the first time using this new ability, he saw his friend, he didn't know if he should trust his own eyes.

Just then, Diana walked out quickly from the door, still with a smile of task accomplishment on her face, seemingly waiting for Gordon to praise her. But as soon as she came out, she saw Oliver's worried face, she tilted her head, her expression turning into confusion.

"What's... wrong with you guys?"

The moonlight shone on her face, she appeared gentle yet calm, with both feminine grace and warrior strength embodied in her.

Gordon shook his head, showing a smile, rubbing his little mustache, "Nothing, we're just discussing the proportion of homosexuals in the US Army, Green Arrow is slightly scared."

Diana's concerned look turned into disdain, she punched Gordon lightly, "You guys are really boring, do you even want to hear the address from the Inquirer?"

"You got it?" Gordon raised his eyebrows, gesturing Green Arrow to stay silent.

Diana didn't suspect anything, she nodded proudly, "Amanda and I are both strong women, we have quite a few common topics, even though she was a bit puzzled about why I was looking for the Inquirer, she did give me a phone number and a general location."

Gordon raised his hand, prepared to communicate with the Inverted Man, "Where?"

"Chicago."

Diana said, because even as the head of this intelligence organization, the Celestial Eye Association, Amanda only knew this much.

The next second, as Deathstroke mentioned the place name, a purple jelly-like teleportation gate appeared in front of the three of them again.
