Chapter 854 - Chapter 809: Su Ming at Leisure

Appearing with Harley, besides Poison Ivy, was the entire Teen Titans team. The satellite was online, and compatibility work with magic was also completed. Why stay at the Eternal Rock, for a canned feast?

Damian knew about Su Ming's plan to use Harley as bait, and he volunteered to say that the Teen Titans could help watch the fishing float.

Su Ming thought about it. Actually, just relying on the satellite to watch would be fine, but sending out the Teen Titans also had its benefits. After all, whether the fish was caught is one thing, and whether someone plans to snatch the fish is another.

The bait was cast out, and whether it catches the Joker or the Mad Laugh is not impossible.

Of course, if the Joker is caught, Su Ming plans to negotiate a deal with him. If the Mad Laugh is caught, then there's nothing to talk about, just kill him.

Last time he didn't die from a beheading, this time let's try mincing him into meat and burning him to ashes. If that doesn't work, then go to 'Destiny' and 'Death' to see what's going on.

Su Ming himself, along with Green Arrow, Diana, and a gorilla, led the Shadow Contract Team to set up arrays at three magic pillars, and after completing that, left the Shadow Contract to guard the Eternal Rock.

The task is, once the traces of the Mad Laugh are discovered, they will activate the Earth Protection Array to see if it can stop the Mad Laugh's teleportation ability between the Multiverse, performing a 'shut the door and beat the dog' tactic.

Green Arrow's satellite is old, and naturally there would be confidentiality loopholes, Su Ming knew this, but he treated it as a honeypot from the beginning.

If someone hacks into this satellite, Billy Wu could reverse trace the hacker's location through the signal. Now the signal sources on Earth are as conspicuous as lice on a bald man's head.

So after locking the location of the Humiliation Squad, the Supreme Mage opened a teleportation gate, dropping Harley and the others right behind the Fallen Knight.

In terms of support ability, mages are slightly stronger than scientists. This kind of teleportation, anytime and anywhere, is more reliable than the Justice League's Blast Sound Technology.

The ones that fish into the honeypot aren't just the Humiliation Squad, some other assorted villains also want to check out Earth's current situation. Billy even recognized a hacker from the Celestial Eye Association, familiar with the opponent's techniques.

However, the truly wise, Batman, Joker, Mad Laugh, Luthor, did not fall for it....

But it's not entirely useless. At this point in time, with various forces intertwined, it's 'you or me', and the Humiliation Squad has the best battlefield doctor available now.

This is already war, doctors are always useful, and other people in the team don't have as strong self-healing abilities as Su Ming. Even Cindy, who is also Deathstroke, would be at risk if her head got chopped off.

Cindy is now at the Hall of Justice helping Su Ming monitor the Justice League's movements. The two of them use the resonance of X Metal for secret communication, showing Luthor or Mad Laugh a glimpse of Deathstroke's whereabouts, whether the misdirection works is up to fate.

He knew even if he lent the Nightfall Greatsword to Cindy, Batman would still doubt her identity, but this disguise wasn't meant for Batman.

The Nightfall Greatsword, on one hand, is lent to Cindy for combat and communication, and on the other hand, it signals to Batman that this Deathstroke is someone Su Ming trusts.

Batman knows the value of the Nightfall Greatsword and X Metal. A Deathstroke who could obtain the Nightfall Greatsword from Su Ming, no matter which parallel world they're from, must be a trusted individual.

He had two choices at the time.

One was to reveal Cindy's identity, and as an unfamiliar mercenary, Cindy would naturally be kicked out of the Hall of Justice, nullifying the tactical deception against Luthor and Mad Laugh, but the benefit would be preserving the Justice League's intelligence.

Or, Batman could see through it yet say nothing, allowing Cindy to pass the intelligence to Su Ming, while also helping the Justice League in battle.

This is a multiple-choice question. Perhaps Barry cluelessly doesn't see through it, but Batman understands, this is Su Ming conveying a message to him: "She's a mercenary I introduced; use her or don't—it's your call."

Batman made a calm and reasonable choice. He employed Cindy and didn't disclose Cindy's identity to anyone.

According to the message Cindy just sent back, Ron flew to Mars by himself, and the other members of the Justice League are on a short break. She had never done such an easy task.

Lying on a table in the Justice League's dining hall pretending to nap, earning money without doing anything. Why doesn't Earth -11 have a stupid organization like the Justice League?

Su Ming didn't know how to answer her question either; Earth -11's worldview is completely different from the Main World, and besides Briss, there are simply no superheroes. If she wants to make easy money, wouldn't taking more missions from the Amazon Council be better?

It's just that the Legendary Squad was captured by Briss, and she doesn't know what she would do with them.

Let's not talk about the silent exchange between the two for now. At this moment, Su Ming and others are deep in the Amazon Rainforest, working hard in darkness and confusion.

Diana looked at Su Ming beside her, a slight expression of helplessness on her small face, because this Otherworldly Deathstroke was impersonating someone else again.

Currently, Su Ming was wearing a black shirt and cloak, a wide-brimmed hat on his head, a slender sword at his wide belt, and spurs on the heels of his boots.

"What act are you putting on this time?"

Diana leaned in close to Su Ming's ear and whispered. She had a faint scent on her, like baby oil, probably from the shampoo purchased by the Justice League.

Indeed, Diana never sneaks or disguises herself; the sharp-nosed Cheetah can smell her scent from miles away, and she has no intention of hiding it.

Su Ming opened his leather gloves and gave them a squeeze, looking at her in surprise beneath the wide eye mask: "Oh? You don't recognize this outfit? He's supposed to be a senior figure in the superhero world."

Diana crossed her arms, looking at the Shadow Contract Team carving magical symbols on a walking tree, and pouted: "You do know he's a fictional character, right?"

"I know, but he originated from newspaper stories in 1919, back when the folks in the Justice Association weren't even born."

As he spoke, Su Ming casually drew a golden rapier and swiftly carved a "Z" on a tree trunk next to him.

He could immediately feel some indistinct gazes, annoyingly watching him from the shadows, possibly irritated by the damage to the trees on the Ancient Tree Council's territory, drawing the ire of the Green of All Things.

The night jungle was full of strange shadows; in the dense forest, it was especially hard to tell vines from poisonous snakes, while odd animal calls echoed from the distance, sounding like a soft drumming, "coo-coo-coo".

Diana had to admit Su Ming was right. If the story were true, Zorro was active around the 1800s, which was indeed quite early, arguably the first superhero recorded in books.

Though she herself had participated in World War I, she didn't want Su Ming to know that.

"What does acting like Zorro in the jungle have to do with it? Even if Zorro did exist, he was active in the Portuguese colonies of Central America, not South America's Amazon Basin."

Su Ming stroked his chin, as if considering how to answer Diana's question: "...Your point is...I should have dressed up as Indiana Jones to fit the jungle better?"

Diana rolled her eyes at him in exasperation: "I'm asking why you feel the need to dress up again? I can understand pretending for free meals and drinks in Gotham, but who's watching here?"

"You never know. Luthor definitely has satellites, and I'm cautious if Mad Laugh has any surveillance. I don't want them to find out I'm here." Su Ming explained with a smile, his fake mustache curling up.

Diana pinched her chin, looking over at Oliver, who was sitting on a tree trunk: "Green Arrow, don't you find it odd to play Zorro in the forest?"

Oliver was using an arrowhead to clean the calluses on his hands, maintaining finger sensitivity. At her words, he pointed at his own uniform.

If not to pay tribute to Robin Hood, who would wear all green? Even if acting in the wild, didn't he know camouflage would be more suitable?

He's always been playing the modern Robin Hood; it's understandable for Deathstroke to pretend to be Zorro for fun, right?

Diana sighed, shaking the dew off the edge of her cloak hood: "I really don't understand what you're thinking. Isn't it better to just be yourselves?"

"We're masked heroes, not ones who show our faces." Oliver spread his hands in helplessness.

"If we revealed our faces, there'd be no surprise."

Su Ming added, so if they encountered Mad Laugh or his henchmen, if they didn't immediately recognize the fake Zorro as Deathstroke, hesitating for just a fraction of a second, Su Ming could at least take down one enemy with a surprise attack.

"Does that mean you'll also suppress your displayed abilities to maintain the act?" Diana was particularly concerned about this.

Su Ming sheathed his sword with a flamboyant motion, reminiscent of Zorro's flair: "No need to worry about that. As a Master of All Weapons, even just with the rapier, my combat capability is assured. And if a strong enemy appears, it means I've found the main target, so using full strength to kill them wouldn't waste the opportunity created by a smoke bomb."

"Alright, let's hope your plan works." Diana shook her head in disbelief.

Su Ming didn't bother to explain about there being a Deathstroke at the Hall of Justice; his disguises were a casual matter. Success didn't matter; seeking a tactical advantage had become a habit.

"Forget about all that, let me tell you a joke." Su Ming patted his hands, the black gloves making a leathery sound: "A Zorro joke."

Oliver put his arrow back in the quiver, leaning his hands on the tree trunk: "Oh? Let's hear it."

"Zorro liked to carve a Z-mark after killing someone. Once, he killed a bad guy and carved a mark on the wall, but found the mark wasn't neat, so he carved another, still unsatisfied, then another. Gradually, the house filled with ZzzZzz, and then...he fell asleep."

Like a cold wind passing by, both Green Arrow and Diana shivered. What a cold joke was this? Where was the punchline? Even Harley couldn't laugh at this, could she?

In the distance, the strange animal call echoed again, leaving the forest eerily quiet.
