While Su Ming was busy setting up the Magic Array, aiming to become the Supreme Mage for the second time, some people in the Hall of Justice were holding a meeting to study the current situation.
Of course, it wasn't a serious formal meeting, but rather a group of people sitting in the cafeteria, enjoying hamburgers made by the Minotaur chef, while gulping down energy drinks.
Except for Ron, whose diet only included chocolate Oreos and hot cocoa as a drink.
This poor Green Martian has trouble even absorbing nutrients from vegetables, and his green color is likely not due to chlorophyll.
"Barry, you mentioned that two days ago you encountered those creatures that looked like White Martians inside a strange underwater building?"
The Flash's diet was much longer than Ron's, whether hot dogs or pizza, cheese or bacon, he only ate high-calorie foods.
With his cheek bulging as he chewed, he mumbled: "Yes, at the time, those creatures were stored in glass jars. I thought they were dead, but when I got close, they suddenly jumped out and attacked us. But I don't think they're very strong, far weaker than White Martians."
Ron nodded, shoved an entire cookie into his mouth. The legendary standard eating method didn't work for him; turning and licking didn't apply. His throat could expand and transform, allowing him to toss a cookie down to his stomach without obstruction.
"According to the Steward, they are hybrids of White Martians and humans. Some try to recreate the monster soldiers from the 'Great Legion'... I wasn't on Earth at the time, who did you go with? If I'm not mistaken, Divine Speed doesn't support your stay underwater."
"Um, Diana, Arthur, and oh, Deathstroke was there too." Barry turned to look at Deathstroke, who was standing idly by the bar, arms crossed, still wearing his mask: "Aren't you going to crack a joke or join us for something to eat?"
"Sorry, those monsters are too ugly, can't joke about them." Deathstroke's deep voice resonated, his Holy Statue Armor a set of plate armor, with a massive Promethium Metal Plate on the chest, providing excellent resonance now: "And thinking about them just kills my appetite."
Barry shrugged and stuffed the hamburger into his mouth: "Alright, come to think of it, your method of killing them was indeed a bit too gory, but wait... you didn't kill them."
Ron frowned, first looking at the Nightfall Greatsword in Deathstroke's hand, then turning his gaze to Barry.
Deathstroke had used this dreadful weapon to cut Barbatos's insides; he was there at the time and had temporarily cooperated with Deathstroke, delivering a critical hit to Barbatos.
And now Barry said, there are mass-produced creatures untouched by X Metal? How is this possible?
"Are you saying the monsters were severely injured but not dead?"
Barry shrugged, swallowed the food, and took a sip of his drink: "Yes, at the time, Slade sliced them into chunks, slices, strips, mincemeat. But that just delayed their self-healing time. When we left, those ground meats were still trying hard to piece together, attempting to form a complete shape."
Ron, without teeth, would've liked to suck his teeth like humans do: "So do they have any weaknesses?"
Barry shook his head, he tried to recall, but he was still troubled by Static Force issues at the time, and he hadn't really noticed any weaknesses of those monsters.
So he looked to Deathstroke, if anyone could collect complete intel on the enemy during battle, it certainly wasn't Diana and Arthur who went along.
But Deathstroke just shook his head, indicating he had no clue either.
So Barry gave up, if not even Deathstroke had an answer, then sending Batman wouldn't change a thing.
Ron thought for a moment, issued a command through the Mind Network, ordering the Titan Squad to recover those creatures and bring them to the Hall of Justice for the Science Squad to study.
In the last operation, Sea Storm Gass fell from the spacecraft, despite the protection of Hard Water Magic, he took a moderately serious injury after breaking through the atmosphere and hitting the water, and psychologically, suffered from transforming into a fish.
Donna, Beast Boy, and a few others were previously sent to India to tackle other entities, and now they're free.
Even though the Titans were down to four, it was enough. Barry provided Ron with some images directly from his mind; he too deduced the hybrids' power level.
And their undying trait wasn't without advantages. If capturing them intact was hard, surely they could bring back the minced meat?
Donna, coming from Paradise Island like Diana, might encounter understanding issues executing complex orders, but in terms of pure mincing, she's as good as anyone.
With Raven in the team, getting deep underwater wasn't a problem, the only hindrance might be Beast Boy's occasional erratic behavior.
Honestly, if he could choose, Ron would prefer sending the Young Justice League to the seabed, that squad was much more stable. Unfortunately, Shao Zheng still needs to clear a large number of entities in Europe, their mission was far from over.
"I've sent the Titans to retrieve the samples, then we'll await the research results, hopefully discovering weaknesses in Papetua's forces before facing her."
This is what Ron said, while John only let out a long sigh.
"I hope so, but my ring cannot detect the energy type within Star Hero, I remain cautious about Earth technology discovering the enemy's essence."
Hawk Woman immediately objected, catching John's implication: "No, we can't hand over the samples to the Lantern Group's Guardians, we can't differentiate whether they're friend or foe, remember? They've always covered up Papetua's existence."
John raised his hand in a gesture of surrender, he knew Kendra was distrustful because of the Sena Gang incident, but not all aliens bore malice.
He unconditionally trusted his Lantern allies, though the Little Blue Men in high positions were sometimes stubborn and unfeeling, most of their actions originated for the cosmos as a whole.
At least, that was his understanding.
But strangely, Hal didn't agree with him on this. Whenever John expressed respect for the Guardians, the Green Lantern Corps Leader often gave a strange smirk...
"Alright, so Ron, what do we do next? Batman hasn't assigned us any tasks."
John changed the subject, he didn't want to debate the stance of aliens with a woman, what's happened has happened, arguing over who was wrong wouldn't help solve the problem.
Ron looked at Star Hero wolfing down food, then at Clark. Superman nodded, showing support for any decision Ron made.
Mars Hunter made up his mind, he needed to verify some things, returning to Mars.
"I need to act alone for a while but will need to borrow Batman's Can Luo."
