Chapter 719 - Chapter 678: King Vani

Just a few seconds later, a raging fire ignited behind them as Satanah flew over to join them, still rubbing her small belly, looking satisfied.

"Their souls are filled with the taste of decadence and desire, so delicious." She lay smilingly behind Su Ming, giving a thumbs up: "How did you know they're all Death Cultists?"

"Are you sure all the corpses are burned? If any parasite flies out, I'll roast you and eat you." Su Ming said calmly without turning his head.

"Uh... I'll go check again..."

She did cast a Flame Spell, but wasn't sure if every corpse was ignited. Facing Deathstroke's threat, she decided to go back and have a look.

Hel watched her return hastily, a slight smile lifting her lips.

"She seems to think you actually eat people, no, eat demons."

"...."

Su Ming just turned his head to look at her, silently moving forward without saying a word.

Silence stretched....

Hel's smile quickly faded, her expression becoming uncertain: "You wouldn't really be a demon, right? There are few demons who love to eat human flesh now; the energy provided by human flesh is less than that of livestock."

"It was to scare her, didn't expect you'd believe it too." Deathstroke suddenly spoke, a hint of laughter in his tone.

Hel turned her head beside herself in annoyance: "She's young and easily fooled; I'm different, I didn't believe your nonsense."

"Hehe."

The three continued moving forward. From time to time on the road, you could see corpses turned into black ash laying on the ground, all thanks to Palham. Despite many obstacles faced, the Evil Spirit Knight's speed was not affected at all; a bright spot always remained far ahead.

The burnt smell in the air grew thicker, and the chilly feeling became more real.

After advancing about a kilometer underground, the four met once more. The Evil Spirit Knight was holding a gun, waiting for them in front of a huge building.

"Looks like they hollowed out underground, digging a cathedral in the rock." Satanah commented, arms crossed and pinching her chin with one hand.

"It's not a cathedral, just a Gothic Grand Hall. This seems to be the true Throne Room of King Vani." Su Ming corrected, this building was carved out from the rock wall, featuring a pointed roof and a towering shape, predominantly black with narrow stained glass fixed high on the walls.

But actually, the facade is more like a relief sculpture, just a mere form, essentially a cave.

"There are quite a few vampires inside; I smell their scent." Hel said softly, this time truly drawing out her weapon, the "Night Sky Sword" that ranks alongside Surtur's "Twilight Sword" Valentine.

It appeared transparent with a constantly twisting black mist as its blade. This was a single-handed sword, but no one knew its precise length, in the darkness this weapon seemed almost non-existent.

At this moment, suddenly music started in the hall, it was the pipe organ beginning to play. The heavy and magnificent melody immediately resounded all around, as if an invisible mountain rose before them.

The grand door then slowly opened.

The hall was brightly lit, dozens of splendid chandeliers emitted a pure white light, like moonlight shining in the hall, everything seemed so distant and serene, brimming with the rhythm of death.

A red carpet stretched inside, reaching to the end of the hall, and at the other end of the carpet was a black and red throne. A thin man with white hair and moustache was leaning on the throne, resting his face on one fist, with a wine glass in the other hand.

He appeared just middle-aged, but seeing the hundreds of Advanced Vampires standing respectfully on his sides, it was evident who the main figure was.

"Actually, this kind of wedding isn't bad." Satanah said with a strange laugh, quietly beginning to prepare magic.

The other party displayed a negotiation posture, but as she understood Deathstroke further, she knew Deathstroke wouldn't negotiate with them.

As long as they had parasites in hand, Deathstroke wouldn't be at ease, surely needed to destroy everything.

"Please come in, Supreme Mage."

The man on the throne spoke, the hall's structure making his voice sound very loud, even overpowering the pipe organ's music.

"Hello, King Vani." Su Ming also replied loudly, then strode into the hall.

Vani lifted the wine glass to have a sip, seemingly savoring the rich aroma of the blood, closing his eyes slightly. Moments later, he asked again: "I wonder what the Supreme Mage intends to do in my castle?"

"Would you believe me if I said I came to this countryside castle for a vacation?" Deathstroke stowed away the Godslayer and switched to the Nightfall Greatsword because Strangulation secretly informed him that the other party had an aura similar to its kind.

"Hahaha, of course not. Warlocks never directly get involved in affairs between us and the Hunters." The person on the throne laughed, tidying up his magnificent outfit as his silver long hair gently swayed.

In the music, a few heavy beats emerged, like a ship's horn, then it eased slightly.

"Because you're planning to target all ordinary humans this time, that's crossing the line."

King Vani swirled the wine glass in his hand, changed his posture and leaned against the chair's back, shaking his head: "We're only forced to retaliate because if we don't, the Inhumans will wipe us out."

"Then why capture mutants and Inhumans? Are you using them as food or creating stronger descendants?" Under the white moonlight, the dark-yellow armor shone with a cold light, akin to his tone.

Vani placed the wineglass on the throne's armrest and slowly stood up: "If I say the Blood Race, at least my family, has never caught any mutants nor touched an Inhuman, would you believe me?"

"I can believe it because as I've traveled, I haven't found a single Inhuman or mutant. You've been framed." Deathstroke nodded, this was indeed the case, aside from the photos he saw from the Dracula Hunter, there was no other evidence.

Photos... are they real?

"We're not the ones who initiated the war; we're only forced to fight."

"That I don't believe, because you brought out the Vampire Bug. Whether there's an enemy attack or not, you'd use them." Deathstroke wiped his shoe soles on the red carpet, stepping over numerous black ashes along the way: "Parasitic Blood Race is just cannon fodder and food; you've been preparing for war all along."

"It's merely an experiment. The current Vampire Bugs still have flaws because they damage the brain... But future new technology will be stronger. I can find a way for humans and us to coexist. Future Vampire Bugs will grant eternal life to everyone—it's a win-win." Vani spread his hands, revealing a hint of a smile.

"That's not a good thing." Deathstroke sneered: "The immortals are the Vampire Bugs, not the humans themselves."

"Isn't that a good thing?" Vani replied with a smile.

Deathstroke lit a cigarette, standing quietly: "How long have you lived, Vani? Thousands of years? Look at yourself now, still just a rat, no, a pathetic cave bat."

Upon hearing this, the vampires beneath the throne were furious, many quickly drew their weapons, the sound of blades unsheathing rang out, reminiscent of a pipe organ's accompaniment.

Vani raised a hand to halt the descendants' discussions, and he slowly descended the steps himself: "Precisely because of this, I want change. Eternal life has given us enough time to achieve my goals."

"Impossible. After I discovered the truth, all your plans are just a dream." Another racially obsessed madman, Deathstroke gave up communicating.

"Give up, Supreme Mage. Humanity is doomed to be eliminated, and the immortal Blood Race is the future." King Vani turned back to the throne, showing a disappointed look as he lifted his wineglass.

Deathstroke adjusted his breath, flexing his fingers on the sword's hilt: "The last gray-skinned monster told me the same thing, claiming mutants were humanity's future and wanted to unite Earth. So I buried him so he could reorganize his language. Your end won't be as good as his."

"Master, doesn't this mean you're not interested in negotiating?" King Vani sighed, taking a light sip of blood: "The Blood Race can offer you many benefits."

"No need. Benefits can also be taken from your corpse, Satanah!"

Once enough intelligence was gathered, it was time to get to the real business. As Deathstroke's words fell, the already prepared Satanah sneered and emerged from behind him, launching a huge fireball towards the crowd.

Facing such an attack, several vampires immediately stepped out from the crowd, collectively releasing protective spells. A dark cloud suddenly appeared indoors, and once the fireball hit the cloud, it never reappeared.

Satanah grimaced; these Blood Race Sorcerers were all masters. Judging by their speed of casting and coordination, even she was having trouble attacking them.

After the sorcerers blocked the fireball, those vampires who had just drawn their weapons couldn't hold back, silently swinging their weapons to attack the few individuals.

They either transformed into Human Bat monsters or turned into black smoke, extremely fast.

"Knight, you handle the mages, Hel, protect Satanah. I'll take on the warriors."

Seeing Vani still pretending on the throne, Deathstroke couldn't help but laugh. Was their squad being underestimated?

One should know Hel is a god. Crushing these vampires is as easy as squashing ants, not to mention she's wielding a real Divine Power Weapon.

Satanah's power isn't particularly high, but if she gets injured, it'll release the Basilisk inside her, that Ancient Demon God who was of the same era as the Primordial Demon Set, strong enough to be shunned by everyone.

Otherwise, how could she leisurely run a brothel in the Main Dimension? Without this card, other Lords of Hell would have devoured her without a trace.

As for the Evil Spirit Knight, the Revengeful Evil Spirit is forever undying. Unless God speaks, killing him is extremely difficult, and Marvel's God has never appeared...

Deathstroke's abilities need no mention. The current squad is completely overpowering the opponent. Does Vani still have the mood to drink?

Though thinking about it, he likely guessed why.

Vampires are generally underground mice, rarely having the chance to step outside. Where would they go to see advanced combat power? Except for Dracula, who isn't afraid of sunlight and has seen more, the rest of the Blood Race are essentially frogs at the bottom of a well.

Deathstroke has to admit, he likes enemies like this.
