Chapter 577 - Chapter 539: Rescued

"Deathstroke?!"

"Deathstroke?"

"Deathstroke!"

Peggy, Baki, and Colonel Philip reacted differently. Although they said the same name, you could tell their thoughts from their expressions and tones.

Peggy was incredulous, Baki saw hope, while the Colonel was fearful.

"It's me, now let's discuss the fine for your garbage dumping in the Arctic."

Su Ming drew out the Great Sword and knocked on the blade, letting them hear the sound:

"Do you know that the ocean is the home of all humanity? It's everyone's responsibility to protect the sea. The melting of Arctic icebergs will also form some water vapor and cause rainfall worldwide. Polluting the Arctic is polluting the world. Are you not enemies of humanity? Even if the planes don't crash onto people, hitting polar bears isn't good. And then there's the fuel pollution..."

Su Ming stood there spraying complaints at them for five minutes, a whole bunch of circular arguments, basically condemning them and representing humanity in demanding compensation.

Given the absurdly large weapon in his hand, no one dared to object, just lowered their heads and worked silently.

Like pulling Steve out of the cockpit, or checking if the bombs on the plane were safely neutralized.

Su Ming had disabled the bombs. When he intercepted the plane, the bombs were blazing with fire, so to extinguish it, he dunked the whole plane into the sea before bringing it back.

Why bring the entire plane back? Because it's a big plane, technology SSR and Su Ming don't have. This thing surely belonged to Howard for research, meaning Su Ming could again observe.

The technology tree can indirectly light up another branch. Wonderful.

Actually, even if SSR researched it, they couldn't use such a plane because without the Magic Cube, there were no blue Energy Blocks, meaning the plane had no power.

But Su Ming had it; he picked up the Cosmic Rubik's Cube, intending to hand it over to The Ancient One for research.

However, the technology for Energy Materialization was in Zola's hands. Seems like he needs to find an opportunity to indirectly get this technology from S.H.I.E.L.D., perhaps after the Paperclip plan...

Anyway, by now, only Colonel Philip was listening to his nonsense. Baki carried the unconscious Steve, while Peggy followed with a worried expression, walking further away.

The surrounding soldiers had dispersed long ago, each busy with their work.

"Did you know that oil leakage can harm sea leopards and penguins? Their fur may stick together and die miserably. Although penguins live in Antarctica, who's to say..."

Colonel Philip held his head, initially feeling quite grateful to thank Deathstroke.

But as soon as Deathstroke started talking about money, he truly acted like a mercenary.

"How much do you want?"

"I heard Schmidt has collected a batch of gold? Let me calculate. I saved Captain America, captured a Super Fighter, since you all are acquaintances, I'll give you a discount. I'll take half of the gold."

"Ha, if you can take it, go ahead."

Colonel Philip laughed in anger. Red Skull betrayed Little Moustache in Berlin and did indeed loot a batch of gold currently at this base.

But they were large blocks of Golden Brick, each bigger than the front armor of an Iron Wall Tank. No matter how strong Deathstroke was, how many could he carry away?

............

Colonel Philip looked at Deathstroke in despair. He just stuffed a door-sized Golden Brick into a yellow silk pouch on his waist.

No matter how Colonel Philip rubbed his eyes, the thing still defied logic, smoothly going inside.

Was he really old now? With Germany about to collapse, was it time for him to retire?

The world changes fast.

Not only can people fly, but they can also do magic, ha ha, ha ha...

Colonel Philip displayed a smile of being toyed with.

"Hmm... not enough for a set yet, oh well." Deathstroke seemed somewhat dissatisfied but remained true to his word, leaving SSR with half: "Thanks, I'll put your name in the premium client list."

Before leaving, Deathstroke even warmly bid farewell to the Colonel.

The medical room reeking of disinfectant, Steve was injected with a steroid by Holloway, and suddenly jumped up.

"Looks like he's awake."

Avenging Angels watched Steve almost hitting the ceiling with his head, slightly helplessly speaking to Baki.

Previously, Steve only suffered some external injuries plus an electrical shock.

But if his head bumped into the ceiling, he might get a concussion on top.

Yet Baki didn't care about Holloway, when Peggy hugged Steve, he also dashed over, the three embracing together.

"Peggy."

"Steve."

"Baki."

"Steve."

Seeing the three calling each other's names like fools, Holloway rubbed his eyes and quietly left.

The war is about to end. He's preparing to return to New York to continue running his hospital. Of course, when the city needs him, Avenging Angels will still appear.

Fighting evil will no longer be on the battlefield.

However, when he found Su Ming standing outside the door with a mysterious smile, he couldn't help but suck in a cold breath through clenched teeth.

"Ah..."

He pulled Su Ming into an empty prescription room, here untouched amidst the Hydra attack. Shelves densely packed with medicine bottles labeled in German.

"How's his condition?"

Su Ming took out a cigar, held it in his mouth, and lit it.

"Much lighter than last time in Paris when he was hurt. At least I didn't have to use rags to stop his bleeding."

Holloway shook his head, his concerns lay elsewhere:

"I'm wondering if you have multiple personalities? You're great to your protégés in normal circumstances, but after becoming Deathstroke, you even charge the Colonel for saving his life. What's your thinking?"

Su Ming patted the doctor's shoulder, smiled, and reminded him.

"Once external enemies are eliminated, SSR won't disband. They'll shift to dealing with internal enemies. Trust me, keep your identity secret to live peacefully."

"What enemies?" Holloway furrowing his brow.

"Anyone with differing opinions is an enemy, that's the politicians' mindset... Trust me, in the coming days, a long holiday won't hurt."

Su Ming casually picked up a bottle of medicine, glanced at it finding fish liver oil, he dripped a few drops into his mouth, the rest he fed to Strangulation.

Holloway sighed: "I'm thinking the same. I'm planning to return to manage the sanatorium."

"Have you thought about teaching? My school needs a dean for the medical program, the pay is excellent." Su Ming enticed, old teammates are most reliable, bringing them to school can help with tasks other teachers are inconvenient to do.

The doctor rubbed his face, why talk about money? Is his medical skill measurable by money?

..............

"Looks like I didn't miss the date." Steve looked at Peggy in his arms.

"No, you didn't." Peggy pushed Baki away, leaned her face close to Steve: "We can start rehearsing now, dancing and other things..."

Baki rubbed his temples, now feeling somewhat unnecessary, Steve found a girlfriend, why does the world feel so unreal?
