Chapter 71 - It says it all

His eyes widened, followed by his hand quickly moving away as he muttered "Sorry…"

She couldn't lift her head up, the shyness getting to her too.

Her grip on the railing tightened, as she made a quiet squeak sound in her mouth.

"I'm sorry…pardon me." He said as he turned to leave, but stopped when she called him back.

"H-hey…"

He clenched his fists, not out of anger…but because he couldn't face her now.

He knew his face said it all, his ears so red he was sure she could notice that.

"I actually…wanted to share something." She said, looking at him one, then at the ground the other.

"Y-yeah?"

"I'm working part time at the café downtown…it's an evening to night job… I was wondering if…you could come sometime."

He forgot about the earlier incident for a second and listened to her.

"I mean – you don't have to if you're busy-

She was cut by him.

"No, no… I'm not busy. I'll…come."

She breathed out.

"It's café receptionist job?"

"Ahm." She murmured.

"Oh, you must be running late…Sorry to take your time. Your brother must be waiting."

"It's alright…no worries."

"Okay…Bye, then. Take care." She said, just a small, almost unnoticeable smile on her lips.

He was already moving towards the door, but stopped.

"You too."

And continued walking.

She looked at him entering the door…then slowly disappearing.

She fixed her hair…and suddenly, the memory clicked again.

"W-what was that?" Her voice was soft, almost like a shy whisper.

After taking off his jacket, he was standing against the door, just processing the whole interaction.

Shutting his eyes, all he could see was the moment replaying.

"That was the stupidest thing I ever said…" He blurted, not knowing Kuro was right there, listening.

"You saying something stupid? What could it be?"

Si-Hun almost jumped, at high alert.

He didn't want to tell about it to anybody.

It was too much to even think about to himself.

That's why he jumped.

"Nothing…It was nothing."

"Nothing." He repeated in his mind.

"Hey, at least tell me that."

"It was…her, right?"

Si-Hun almost choked.

"Where's Ji-Ho?" He changed the topic completely.

"Hey – ! Why are you changing the topic?! Anyways, he's in your room."

"My room?"

"Yeah."

Si-Hun left from there, leaving Kuro there.

Without telling anyone, he popped out from the door, and looked around, only to see Su-Yeon closing the door behind her.

"I was right…I never thought master could be…flustered."

Then his attention slightly shifted towards the sky.

"Oh man, the sky is majestic today…"

Ji-Ho was lying on Si-Hun's bed, already drifting to sleep, when Si-Hun came in, not barging, but careful.

"Hey…he's sleeping already. I think I'll have to take the couch today as well."

Saying that, he moved forward, pulling the blanket over his brother and turning the lights off before leaving.

Laying on the couch, he had time with his thoughts, which were getting to him now.

He couldn't forget that interaction, not for the whole week and whenever he sees her.

"Aish…why is it like this? I can't seem to forget about it! She must have thought I'm a creep! I shouldn't have done that…It's weird. That I feel the need to do that…but it was bothering her. What else could I have done?"

His thoughts stayed, he couldn't forget it.

Su-Yeon sat on her kitchen counter…The usual habit.

"Why would he do that out of nowhere? And… why did it make me stop my breath? He was so close…I've never seen him so close before. But…he's cute."

"Oh my God!!" She squeaked, covering her face.

"What would he be doing right now…?" She opened her phone and looked at his contact number.

"Last seen today, 30 minutes ago."

"What??"

"Should I message him? No…I'm too shy to talk…"

A follow up to her words, a message popped up.

"I-it's him!"

She quickly opened her screen.

"Is the café you're working at the same one on the corner?"

It wasn't a long process to answer, but she thought it through.

"Yes, It's the same one."

"Oh crap…It's the same one we once got coffee from together…and I remember what happened." He closed his eyes, then opened them again and started typing.

"Thank you. I'll come by."

"I'll wait."

Nobody texted after that.

But both were aware of what was happening.

"How am I gonna face him tomorrow?" She said, making a small, elongated sound.

He shut his phone and putting it on his chest, he looked at the ceiling.

"How am I gonna face her tomorrow?"

For the rest of the night, it was lingering.
