Chapter 1030 - Chapter 779: Intimidation_2

"If so many people are accusing you together, you might be in some trouble, even given the special nature of your situation right now. You'd probably lose your position as a Senior Ministerial Assistant."

"Ah, that's okay." Kael said with a smile, "If I lose it, I lose it. I don't really want to work at the Ministry of Magic anyway. If that's the case, they're doing me a favor."

"But you probably don't want to be involved in constant investigations." Mr. Weasley continued, "Even Aurors who use Unforgivable Curses have to undergo three investigations at least. And you're not even an Auror, so you'll face more, along with interrogations and a Wizengamot trial."

"That's quite troublesome." Kael frowned, casually twirling his wand, "Why not just kill them all then? That way they won't be able to testify against me later."

A flash of green light appeared out of nowhere and enveloped several Death Eaters standing in front of Kael.

"Don't..." Mr. Weasley reached out, trying to stop Kael.

"I'll talk, I'll talk!"

"Don't kill us!"

It seemed like they didn't expect Kael to really dare to do such a thing. There was a burst of crying from the crowd, and some fainted from fright on the spot.

However, they quickly realized that nothing had happened to them.

"I was just kidding." Kael lifted his wand with a smile, "You can't even distinguish between a Killing Curse and a Lighting Spell? Your skills need work."

The faces of the few people at the front turned red with shame and anger after being fooled. They felt insulted, like Fantastic Beasts in a magical circus for people to gawk at. It was more painful than actually killing them.

Intolerable!

But just as they were about to say something...

"Avada Kedavra!"

A brighter green light whizzed past their heads and hit the wall behind them, leaving a large, shocking crater.

"That's a Killing Curse." Kael glanced at them nonchalantly, "Oh, what were you about to say?"

"Well done." One of the Death Eaters at the front blurted out, "I've long disliked Teva's arrogance and tyranny. He deserved to be killed."

"Yeah, exactly." someone echoed, "Even if you hadn't done it, I wouldn't have let him go."

"We will definitely keep our mouths shut and not tell anyone."

"No, no, you shouldn't speak recklessly. I've never used an Unforgivable Curse, nor killed anyone." Kael shook his head, "Why don't you check again? Did he really get hit by a Killing Curse?"

With Kael's reminder, everyone, including shopkeepers and Mr. Weasley, all looked over.

"Wait, this doesn't seem like a Killing Curse at all." someone pointed out.

"Yeah..."

"It really doesn't look like it..."

"Never heard of a Killing Curse turning a body blue and purple."

"Feels like some kind of venom... was it from an Eight-eyed Giant Spider?"

...

Everyone was chatting animatedly.

"See, I told you, it has nothing to do with me." Kael said with a smile, pointing at something small and sprout-like beside him, "Here's the culprit."

Everyone instinctively turned to look, and someone immediately recognized it.

"Bowtruckle?"

That person blinked, feeling utterly ridiculous.

What a joke, even lying should come with a more plausible reason. How could a Bowtruckle, a Fantastic Beast of only XX classification, silently kill an adult wizard?

What nonsense is this?

But the next second, Mr. Weasley found a tiny wound on the other person's neck that matched the Bowtruckle's long and sharp fingers perfectly.

With that, everyone fell silent.

A Bowtruckle killing an adult wizard... it was one of the most unbelievable things they'd heard in recent years.

Yet given the current situation, they couldn't help but believe it. Besides that wound, there were no other marks on the body.

Everyone found their heads spinning... could it be that Bowtruckles were poisonous and could kill an adult wizard instantaneously?

Never heard of it!

Or did "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" release a new edition?

Of course, Bowtruckles aren't poisonous, and Newt was very diligent, but Kael's suitcase did contain several poisonous Fantastic Beasts.

Just moments ago, his little buddy had used a Basilisk's Fang that Kael had meticulously sharpened to prick the opponent.

It was one of Kael's tactics against those elite Death Eaters, incredibly effective and indeed impressive.

But of course, he wouldn't reveal that,

Since not many people knew he had a Basilisk, nor would they think he'd grind a Basilisk's fang down to needle size. So as long as he didn't say, no one would know what really happened.

Besides, maintaining a bit of mystery could also play a significant role in intimidating the Death Eaters.

At the very least, after the previous events, the Death Eaters who had been swearing and cursing quieted down. They were as well-behaved as Moonstruck Beasts basking in the sun.

Some didn't even dare to raise their heads, fearing they might get pricked themselves.

Being killed by a Bowtruckle, it was incredibly bizarre and somewhat laughable.

Seemingly to prevent Kael from stirring up any more trouble, Mr. Weasley didn't dwell on the Bowtruckle any longer and turned to ask, "Now, are you willing to say anything?"

This time, the crowd was much more enthusiastic. Under Kael's gaze, everyone actively cooperated with Mr. Weasley, sharing what information they knew.

Sometimes, if information overlapped, they would argue about who said it first, essentially keeping the mood lively.
