The next morning, Kael was awakened by the sound of noisy discussion while still in his slumber.
He opened his eyes and listened carefully at first, relieved to find there was no panic in the voices before changing clothes and yawning as he left the room.
The sound came from downstairs; it was clear it was Harry and Ron.
"A new Minister was chosen overnight."
At the breakfast table, Ron looked at today's newly delivered issue of the Daily Prophet and said, "This must be the fastest action from the Ministry of Magic ever."
"How could such matters be slow?" Hermione glanced at him irritably, "Unless the Ministry of Magic wants to hold another vote? That would waste so much time, and what if there's another Death Eater attack during that period."
"I know, I was just saying." Ron muttered, "But does anyone know who this new Minister is anyway?"
"Amelia Bones... I remember there's also a Bones in Hufflepuff, what's her name again?"
"Susan Bones," Harry and Hermione said almost simultaneously.
"How do you know this so clearly." Ron looked at them in confusion.
"Because of Slughorn," Harry explained, "He invited Susan Bones to have lunch in the compartment with him at the start of the school year last year."
"And at the welcome-back dinner, I saw her too." Hermione said, "But I've only seen her twice; after that, she didn't go again."
"I guess that was because Ms. Bones was attacked by Death Eaters and had to be sent to St Mungo's during that time.
"He's like that, preferring to connect with students from influential families, but once those influences are lost, his attitude turns cold immediately."
Harry smirked, openly showing his disdain for Slughorn.
"Haha!" Ron suddenly laughed, "I bet Slughorn regrets it now; not only has Ms. Bones recovered, she's become the Minister of Magic."
"Indeed, Slughorn must be feeling quite regretful." Harry couldn't help but laugh at the thought.
"I bet he can't wait to invite Susan to his dinner party again when the school year starts."
"But whether Susan will go is uncertain." Hermione laughed too, "I remember Susan wasn't really fond of those parties, to begin with. Adding what happened before, Professor Slughorn might find his plans misfired."
While they were talking, Kael also came down from upstairs, letting out a big yawn.
"Sorry," Hermione turned her head and said, "Was our conversation too loud, did we disturb you?"
"No problem." Kael waved his hand, "It's almost noon anyway, just in time for lunch... What are you chatting about?"
"The Ministry of Magic elected a new Minister." Ron waved the newspaper in his hand.
"Is it Amelia Bones?" Kael asked.
"How did you know?" Ron was a bit surprised... Kael hadn't even looked at the newspaper.
"Because last night, I saw Professor Dumbledore looking for her," Kael said casually, "And in the Ministry of Magic, she's really the most suitable candidate."
"Even Professor Dumbledore thinks so?" Ron clicked his tongue, "No wonder she was able to take Fudge's place so quickly. I mean, with Dumbledore's support, surely others would not oppose it, right?"
"I think it's more due to Ms. Bones herself," Harry said, "If she weren't capable, Professor Dumbledore wouldn't support her either."
He had asked Sirius countless times about the details of that review, and naturally knew about Amelia Bones' stance and her help towards Sirius.
Because of this, Harry instinctively liked Amelia Bones and unconditionally supported her becoming the new Minister.
"Perhaps you're right," Ron shrugged, not arguing, "So what's this new Minister like, compared to Fudge?"
"Regarding the Minister position, I'm not sure," Kael thought for a moment and said, "But during her time as head of the Law Enforcement Department, she's known for her fairness and decisiveness; if something can be done today, it won't be postponed to tomorrow."
"Well, in that aspect, she's a lot better than Fudge." Ron shrugged, "Everyone knows Fudge's indecisive nature, right?"
"Who knows..." Kael said.
A position can change a person; take Fudge, for example, when he was in Disaster Management, he also performed quite well and had many outstanding achievements.
But that didn't prevent him from slowly transforming into the Minister known for craving power.
After chatting a bit longer, Kael looked up at the surroundings.
"Are only you three here? Where are the others?"
"Sirius and Mr. Weasley went to the Ministry of Magic," Harry said, "Because there are many things to handle, he was temporarily pulled to help.
"And Mrs. Weasley, she went to St Mungo's."
"Is it still because of Percy?" Kael asked, and took the cup of tea handed over by the house-elf Kreacher.
"Thank you."
"Enjoy, Master Kael, lunch will be ready soon." With that, Kreacher bowed and left.
"Unbelievable." Ron couldn't help but say, "That house-elf has never been this friendly to us."
