"What did you say?"
Fred was so excited he almost jumped up, he was now even wondering if Kael's head had been stepped on by a Moonstruck Beast.
"Such an important thing, how could you... oh, wait." He stopped mid-sentence, suddenly realizing something. "You wouldn't be planning to ambush the Death Eaters inside the castle, would you?"
"As expected of my friend, smart enough." Kael grinned, "That's exactly what I'm thinking.
"Imagine, the ambitious Death Eaters taking Malfoy's advice, crawling through the Vanishing Cabinet to Hogwarts, and when they look up, seeing seven or eight professors with wands waiting for them..."
"That scene would be amazing!" At some point, Fred's face had already turned red, and he was extremely excited.
"Brilliant, this plan is simply brilliant!" George was also panting heavily, as if he could already see the scene of Death Eaters queuing up to be taken down.
In their excitement, they immediately huddled together to discuss how to set traps at Hogwarts.
Strap the Vanishing Cabinet onto a broomstick and send it skyward...
Stuff the Vanishing Cabinet into a sewer pipe...
Dig a swamp as big as a Quidditch Pitch in front of the Vanishing Cabinet.
...
Their terrible ideas came out like a fountain, one after another.
Meanwhile, Kael sat next to them, using a Speedwriting Quill to jot down all their ideas.
It took ten minutes before Fred and George gradually calmed down.
"Wait a minute." George suddenly paused, then turned to ask, "Kael, doesn't the Vanishing Cabinet need two to be useful? You just said you found one, so where's the other one, is it at Hogwarts too?"
"There's only one at Hogwarts." Kael said.
That statement was like a bucket of cold water, instantly dousing their enthusiasm.
But after calming down, they immediately remembered something else Kael had mentioned earlier.
"The other Vanishing Cabinet, it wouldn't be in Knockturn Alley, would it?"
Kael couldn't have told them to pay attention to Knockturn Alley and Malfoy for no reason. Putting the two pieces together, the truth was obvious.
The other Vanishing Cabinet was indeed in Knockturn Alley, and Malfoy knew too, that if he wanted to complete his plan, he had to go there at least once.
Now it all made sense...
"Let's go to Diagon Alley right now!" Fred stood up, ready to head out.
"No need to rush." Kael waved his hand, signaling them to calm down.
"Timing doesn't really matter, whether a bit sooner or later, this time I'm just confirming something."
"Confirming what?"
"To see if the cabinet is still there, of course." Kael said, "Malfoy wouldn't likely be carrying the cabinet everywhere. If it's still there, all we need to do is keep an eye on Knockturn Alley, and we'll know their exact move."
"But what if Malfoy took the cabinet away?" Fred asked, "It wouldn't be hard, a box with an Undetectable Extension Charm could do it."
"Then it would be a bit more troublesome, and everyone would have to be ready at all times." Kael said.
"Does Dad know about this?"
"Probably knows." Kael thought for a moment, "I've already discussed it with Professor Dumbledore, he has no reason not to tell the other members of the Order of the Phoenix."
"Of course Dad knows!" George suddenly said, "Remember? Last time when they were discussing stuff, Alastor suddenly mentioned the 'passage,' and Tonks and Sirius are almost living in Hogsmeade."
"They know everything, but just won't tell us!" George got more agitated as he spoke, "They're always like this, treating us like kids like Ginny."
"Yeah, and we've already graduated, yet still don't get enough trust." Fred also expressed dissatisfaction, "Even though Bill and Charlie can participate in the meetings, we can't; we can only eavesdrop from outside!"
"Don't say it like that." Kael quickly comforted them, "It's all for your safety."
"But we want to help too." Fred took a deep breath, "Kael, do you know why we haven't resigned till now?"
"Think working at the Ministry of Magic is interesting?" Kael said.
"For the first two months, yes." Fred said, "But later on it became boring."
"Every day it's the same routine, writing reports, wasting time chasing small vendors..."
"And that pay, we could earn that in two days at the shop..."
"The reason we didn't resign is that we want to share some of Dad's burden."
"And to show Mom that we actually can be helpful."
"But it seems she never notices."
Seeing the two becoming despondent, Kael didn't know how to comfort them for a moment, so he could only quietly say, "Maybe you're overthinking."
"What do you mean?"
"I mean, do you want to take over Charlie's job, to be responsible for guarding No. 12 Grimmauld Place?"
"No." Fred and George shook their heads simultaneously, letting them stay in the same place for a day was worse than casting a Killing Curse on them.
"Or go to Hogsmeade?"
They shook their heads again, wasn't it the same thing? Hogsmeade was just a bit bigger after all.
"See." Kael said, "You guys don't want to do anything, yet complain about so much. Mrs. Weasley has already been very considerate of you."
Fred and George exchanged a knowing glance, and the atmosphere of frustration and discontent disappeared in an instant, leaving them just a bit awkward.
