Just like Nicolas said earlier, no alchemist can resist their temptation.
And Dumbledore happens to be an alchemist. Moreover, he is the headmaster of Hogwarts, which gives him plenty of reason to take the items.
Previously, he might have felt awkward about it or not wanting to openly seize them, but now... To be honest, Kael isn't sure if he will still maintain the composure expected of a headmaster in front of him.
Afterwards, Nicolas took Kael on a tour of his laboratory, and Kael took the opportunity to ask about some challenges he faced in alchemy.
When the two left the room, it was already evening.
Since guests rarely visit, Tata prepared a sumptuous dinner. Conna sat beside the table, holding a thick book and a stack of yellowed parchment, engrossed in reading.
Next to Conna was Nicolas's wife, Perenelle, a witch who is also over six hundred years old.
"Dear, you can totally set it aside," Perenelle said gently. "They are yours now, consider it our Christmas gift to you, and you can look at them anytime."
"Sorry," Conna replied, a little embarrassed. "I was too engrossed."
"Understandable," Perenelle laughed. "I've heard from Nicolas that young Kael was once the same, sitting in the library for days at a time. You two really are a good match."
Conna hadn't expected her to say that, and her face suddenly turned red.
Just at that moment, Kael and Nicolas approached.
"Perenelle..." Nicolas glanced at the two at the table, asking, "I thought you'd stay in Paris for Christmas?"
"I just went to find some hydrangea seeds, and returned as soon as I found them," Perenelle said.
"There are already nearly two thousand pots of hydrangeas at home, she's been obsessed with them lately," Nicolas whispered to Kael.
Then he walked over to the table and sat down, asking, "What were you talking about just now?"
Perenelle glanced at Conna, then at Kael, her smile grew brighter.
"Talking about Christmas gifts," Conna blurted out.
"Yes, precisely," Perenelle didn't expose her. "Nicolas, I'm planning to give this book and those parchments to Conna as a Christmas gift, what do you think?"
"Of course, no problem. I was thinking the same anyway, they don't serve much purpose with me," Nicolas said.
"Th-thank you..." Seeing them both look at her again, Conna hastily took out a small bottle and placed it on the table. "This is the gift I brought."
"Oh?" Nicolas was a bit surprised; he hadn't received a gift in a long time, mostly because owls couldn't find this place at all.
Initially, he didn't pay much attention, but when he saw the bottle, he suddenly froze.
"Are you sure you want to give it to me?" Nicolas asked meaningfully.
"Yes," Conna nodded.
"Do you know what it is?"
"Phoenix Potion," Conna said.
"Indeed, some do call it that," Nicolas nodded. "But what if I told you that this small bottle of Potion can bring a wizard back to life once?"
Resurrection?
Kael and Conna raised their heads simultaneously.
"Revival might not be entirely accurate, strictly speaking it should offset one Killing Curse," Nicolas explained. "The original purpose of this Potion was to resist a Killing Curse, but its process is too complex and requires the ashes left after a Phoenix's natural rebirth, so it's almost impossible to find now. The last time I saw it was about three hundred years ago."
"Furthermore, this Potion also holds a significant effect in alchemy. The Magic Text and Talisman written with it are almost impervious to any external factors."
Kael couldn't help but look at the small bottle again.
He previously thought it contained something similar to Felix Felici, now realizing how wrong he was.
Being able to offset a Killing Curse, it's no different from resurrection. In other words, drinking it makes anyone as fortunate as Harry, without anyone needing to sacrifice.
"So..." Nicolas looked at Conna again. "Are you really preparing to give this precious Potion to me?"
Honestly, Kael felt a bit conflicted inside, but Conna had no hesitation and nodded.
"Yes!"
"Alright then, I'll accept it." Nicolas picked up the bottle. "Oh, can you tell me who made this Potion?"
"Snape... Severus Snape," Conna said.
