To Dumbledore, the news brought by Kael was quite an unexpected surprise.
Death Eaters hiding in the shadows are terrifying, but once exposed to the sunlight, it's a different story.
The Vanishing Cabinet can help Death Eaters evade the castle's magical defenses; if unknown beforehand, Death Eaters could indeed use it to seize the initiative, catching them off guard.
But now that they know, the immovable Vanishing Cabinet becomes the Death Eaters' greatest flaw.
Dumbledore was confident he could capture all those Death Eaters entering Hogwarts through this method.
What he was considering now was how to distance Draco Malfoy from this matter, to prevent their family from incurring Voldemort's wrath.
After all, if the Death Eaters truly attempted to attack Hogwarts, there would certainly be many of them, and if they were all caught, Voldemort would definitely be furious.
At that time, the Malfoy family who proposed this solution would be doomed.
Dumbledore wanted to save their lives.
He may not care about Lucius Malfoy or Narcissa Malfoy, but he couldn't ignore Draco; no matter what, Draco Malfoy was a student of Hogwarts.
And as the headmaster, he had a responsibility to protect every student, even if the other party was scheming to kill him.
However, Dumbledore didn't share this thought with Kael; it wasn't that he didn't trust Kael, he was very sure that if he spoke up, Kael would probably agree.
But it's the headmaster's duty to protect students, not Kael's... and whether this plan could work is still uncertain.
Dumbledore shook his head and stopped pondering it.
"Kael, the most critical issue now is... do you know where he will hide the Vanishing Cabinet?" he asked.
To ambush the Death Eaters using the Vanishing Cabinet, one must know where it is.
Hogwarts is vast, with both the Chamber of Secrets and the Room of Requirement, places known by few; even Dumbledore, as headmaster, couldn't guarantee knowing all of Hogwarts' secrets.
If Malfoy had found a similar room, they might not be able to find it immediately, and all their plans would be futile.
"Of course," Kael said, "I've already prepared in advance."
He naturally wouldn't make such a basic mistake.
"When I put the Vanishing Cabinet back, I made a small modification on it, added a special Magic Text."
While speaking, Kael took out a map of Hogwarts and spread it open on the table.
After glancing at it, he pointed towards the Slytherin Common Room.
"Isn't this it, right here." On the map, an ink footprint was prominently visible, with "Vanishing Cabinet" written above it.
If Fred and George were also present, they would recognize at a glance that such footprints and names are unique markers of the Marauder's Map.
The fact indeed stands; this effect was crafted by Kael based on the Marauder's Map... the only difference is this map isn't as densely packed as the Marauder's Map; it only contains this one name whose movement is clear as day.
"Oh?" Dumbledore took the map for a glance and immediately understood what was going on, "Is this Name Tracking Magic?"
"That's right," Kael nodded, "It's a simple trick; just switch the target from wizard to item with Magic Text, but very useful."
As he spoke, Kael glanced at the map again.
It showed that the Vanishing Cabinet was still in the Slytherin Common Room; perhaps it wasn't yet ready, or maybe the other Vanishing Cabinet hadn't been repaired, but either way, Malfoy seemed not to be ready to act immediately.
After all, the Common Room was crowded and bustling. Plus, given recent years' events, each House's Common Room entrance had added several portraits for oversight.
No matter what, Malfoy was unlikely to use the Common Room as an attack point; he would surely choose a more concealed location.
But it's good this way; they have more time to prepare.
Dumbledore cast his wand, and the map instantly divided into two copies; supported by Dumbledore's powerful magic power, both the map and the magic on it were preserved.
He returned the original map to Kael and kept the copy for himself.
"Professor, should we add a Reminder Spell?" Kael pondered aloud, "It could alert us whenever the Vanishing Cabinet's position changes, saving us from monitoring it continuously."
"No need for such trouble," Dumbledore said, with a wave of his hand, the map floated onto a shelf behind him.
That spot could be seen by the portraits on the wall.
"They'll help keep an eye on it," Dumbledore smiled and said, "I have many things to attend to these days and can't guarantee I'll carry the map with me; besides, there are moments when it's inconvenient for it to suddenly sound an alert."
"Indeed," Kael nodded, "After all, if a certain headmaster is idle, at least this gives him something to do, sparing him from daily beatings, it's quite good..."
"What do you mean." Phineas immediately protested indignantly, "Really disrespectful, how could you speak of Dippet like that!"
"No, no," Kael replied without looking up, not even bothering to explain, "you misunderstood, Headmaster Black, it's not what I meant."
