"Damn it..."
"Damn it ah ah ah!!!"
The roar of rage.
But it didn't come from Rockson, or at least it wasn't Rockson himself.
As the Great Saturn detonated, the blasting flames swept over Rockson, the Light Association Duelist's eyes flipped, and he fell down with endless resentfulness.
Yet the angry roar did not stop, instead it grew more intense. Strong light erupted from his body, penetrating the curtain of flames, and in mid-air it transformed into a distorted white shadow.
Like some shape constructed from light, it materialized a vague face. The twisted visage formed by the light emitted an incredibly angry roar.
"Saturn..."
"Great Saturn..."
"Ah ah ah ah...!"
It seems someone is extremely resentful about being blown up by Great Saturn.
At least at the last moment before dying, he finally understood. The core of this tactic really seemed to be Great Saturn, but the opponent never intended to confront him directly from the start.
The combination of detonation and Great Saturn, along with the hidden Bombardment Dragon combo...
The strategy clearly targeted this combo's goal, Great Saturn's self-destruction.
When unable to draw the self-destruct combo, Saturn's own 2800 attack power was still quite potent, and by paying life points for damage, it could even temporarily rise to 3800, nearly reaching Obelisk-Level strength considered top-notch among regular Monsters.
It would be even better if the opponent used destructive effects for removal, saving the trouble for himself. If not, then he would do it himself.
Altogether it was like a walking powder keg,
The Light of Destruction from beyond seemed to not quite adapt to the contemptible locals' tricks. He was deeply annoyed and somewhat dissatisfied.
Of course, this was completely normal. Yugen in the early years, when forced into a draw by Underworld partners using Destruction Wheel Great Saturn or self-destruct switches in overturn strategies, felt similar. Not to mention at this moment the opponent wasn't even in a draw, but directly blown up, the frustration can only be imagined.
But Rockson had fully fallen by now, and what appeared before him should be the fragment of the Light of Destruction originally attached within him.
"Revolver...handgun."
The Light of Destruction glared at him intensely.
"You were originally...insignificant."
"But from now on..."
"This has become a personal vendetta."
Yugen laughed. He nodded.
"Gladly."
This was the truth. Although he found the Association's location this time, it seemed the base fled after getting wind of it. Rockson, left to set traps, seemed just like the earlier Raimaru situation, once the duel ended and the Light of Destruction left the body, even if he woke up he likely wouldn't be of much help.
But this was common among Light Association members in animation. Chazz and Asuka were brainwashed into joining the Light Association but had no memory of the events as members after being defeated and returned to normal by Judai.
This should also be some mechanism of the Association, able to prevent brainwashed members from leaking important information once the effect wears off.
But this also made dealing with the Light Association much more challenging.
At this moment, the remaining fragments of light were slowly dissipating before him, the twisted face gradually turning to ash.
"Boss, what should we do next?"
Black Scorpion's Zik popped out from behind him at some unknown time, asking softly.
Zarug seemed like he wanted to speak but ultimately closed his mouth without saying anything.
Though clearly I was the first boss to arrive...
Yugen considered for a moment.
"Takuma Saiou, along with other light association members are currently missing, we can't find them. However, there's one among them who is quite easy to locate."
"Who?"
Yugen took out the terminal with the KC emblem from his hand, the screen showed the image of a handsome young man in a white suit with silver hair.
"Professional Duelist, Ed Phoenix."
...
...
"You've been performing well recently, Ed."
Takuma Saiou placed the Tarot Cards face down on the table.
"Facing even the top fifty ranked duelists in the league as opponents, you've been winning beautifully so far, right?"
The silver-haired young man behind him gave a confident smile.
"Not particularly formidable opponents." Ed said, "They can't even force me to exert myself fully."
"Hahaha, indeed."
Saiou chuckled, not saying more.
Currently, Ed has been using Elemental Heroes in the professional league, seen by everyone as a duelist using Elemental Heroes.
However, he has yet to publicly showcase his true strength. In fact, Ed Phoenix is unique among global hero users; his true ace deck is a one-of-a-kind ultimate rare deck called "Destiny Hero."
It was the last deck left to him by his late father, as a card designer with the International Fantasy Association, before his death.
"Are you still continuing that pointless hunt at night?"
Saiou casually remarked.
Ed smiled.
"Just passing the time." He said.
He naturally knew what Saiou meant.
Newspapers reported an unknown vigilante operating in the city, continuously attempting to sanction criminal activity. Rumor had it the individual was masked, cloaked, acting like a demon under the moon, often using duels to punish criminals.
This indicated the vigilante possessed not only exceptional dueling prowess but also certain supernatural abilities, at least enough to use the power of dueling against criminals and thugs.
This person was heavy-handed, and a few criminals who encountered him still haven't awakened. People held this dueling hero in high regard, but the authorities had declared such disregard for law, using dueling strength for illegal justice, must be apprehended.
Though the mysterious hero's identity remained a mystery externally, both Ed and Saiou knew for certain, it was Ed.
"None of the criminals you've faced recently are the ones you're searching for."
Saiou said calmly.
Ed smiled: "So did you predict this future through divination?"
Saiou did not answer, quietly continuing to flip through his Tarot Cards.
"Of course, if your nighttime actions are simply rituals to vent your irremovable rage, that's a separate matter entirely."
Ed did not deny it.
For he had to admit, there was indeed this aspect to it.
Years ago, his father died unexpectedly, and the Destiny Hero card, boasting extraordinary power and known as "Ultimate D," was stolen by criminals.
Since then, Ed has harbored deep hatred toward all criminals. His life's purpose was to find the despicable killer, retrieve his father's relic, and avenge his father's death.
"So," Ed looked at Saiou, "has my destiny seen any new changes?"
Saiou gently opened a Tarot card, placing it in the center of his table.
The card face was a chariot.
