Chapter 809 - Chapter 495: Vehicle and Shipping Industry (Part 2)

The Death Star entered from an entrance next to the stage of this mooring area and arrived at a port laid with a red carpet.

It seemed to be affected by the arrival of the Four Emperors; the port that should have been crowded was now deserted. However, further inside, it was brightly lit, gleaming with golden light.

The ship stopped, and as the gangway was lowered by the subordinates, Sage walked at the front, his cape swinging with his steps.

Beside him was Lily, with her hand on her sword hilt. A bit further back were Marika, smiling, and Renedia, looking around curiously.

Following them were Sipher, Misty, Perona, and a few 'newcomers' from Dressrosa.

"Eh? Is this the Golden City?"

Perona floated slightly above the ground, glanced around, and pouted, "All this glittering gold, how annoying, it's nothing like Master Moriah's Gothic castle."

"You truly are his disciple, same taste; what's so good about those eerie castles..."

Sage chuckled and said, "There's nothing like zombies or dolls here, feel free to have fun, don't just stay indoors or you'll end up as fat as Moriah."

"No way, Master Sage, you said it yourself, a change in will is what makes a person change. My will is very strong!"

Perona made a face at Sage, "Living in an eerie castle is my unwavering ideal!"

Her aesthetic has never changed.

Back on the giant Thriller Bark, she lived in an eerie castle, and even after being blasted away by Kuma, she ended up in another abandoned eerie castle.

After finding Moriah, she continued living in Moriah's residence on the O'hara Sub-island.

Sage's feelings towards Perona are...

Indifferent.

She had a deep father-daughter bond with Moriah, and Moriah himself valued companionship.

Back on the Thriller Bark, he spoke in such pretentious terms, saying things like if you never have something, you can't lose it. Yet after that stitched leopard-faced guy Absalom died, didn't he get depressed for a while?

After meeting Perona, he was all smiles again.

This woman was clearly a freeloader, but with Sage's large estate, taking care of a freeloader was no problem at all.

Moreover, Perona was somewhat useful; her abilities made her quite good at reconnaissance.

She surprisingly got along well with Charlotte Brulee; one was a ghostly girl, the other a gloomy witch, quite the pair.

Once the group landed on the ground, the subordinates eagerly pulled out motorcycles from the ship, preparing to ride inside the giant ship. After all, from the entrance, they could already see the road.

This ship, spanning ten thousand meters, was like a city; walking was not feasible for traveling around it.

Transport tools were necessary, of course.

Sage initially planned to ride as well, but soon his eyes were drawn to something ahead.

"Cars?!"

He saw several cars.

Four-wheeled, with seats and steering wheels, and an accelerator... cars!

Luxurious in appearance, resembling sports cars of all kinds—a stark contrast...

"Hey, give me the Round Cycle I built!"

Seeing the subordinates seemingly about to ride the motorcycles back, Renedia was furious, "Isn't the car I built better than this junk tech?!"

"Lady Renedia..."

A subordinate raised a hand feebly, "Being strong is temporary, but being cool is for a lifetime."

Bam!

Renedia hammered the person who spoke flying away, fuming, "My Round Cycle is very cool too!"

She walked towards one of the cars and said, "These only look good on the outside but are nothing on the inside, relying on animals for power. How different is that from a cart?!"

Of course, there were four-wheeled vehicles on the sea; after all, if there were three-wheeled motorcycles, it wasn't impossible to make four-wheeled cars.

But technologically, it was different. These cars were purely turtle-powered.

Sage approached a car resembling a Rolls Royce, touched the roof, "Explain."

"Turtle car."

Renedia pouted, "I've heard of these before, purely good-looking on the outside. Look at those animals..."

She pointed at the sides of the car, at rows of small turtles as if they were ready to paddle, and said:

"Muscle turtles, using them for power; the higher the turtle's rank, the higher the car's rank. Purely relying on external power, no technology at all."

"Like this one you're looking at, called a Turtle-Slayce, that low red chassis one over there is a Turtle-Arri, the one in front is a Turtle-Borghini, and further ahead is a Mitsu-Turtle... just turtles as the difference. What kind of technology is that!"

She despised most those things that masqueraded as scientific technology.

Like vending machines with people inside and that so-called 'automatic walkway' in Mary Geoise, turtle cars were the same.

Sage circled the Turtle-Slayce once, asking, "Can't be mass-produced?"

"No, the number of turtles is limited; enough for a city's traffic, but if you were to sell them, there simply wouldn't be enough."

Renedia managed both the armory and shipbuilding factory, so she knew what Sage was thinking as soon as he spoke.

"Moreover, if selling, the Round Cycle I built could also be sold!"

"Sell my ass, didn't we sell a batch before? There was no market for it, just use it ourselves."

Sage rolled his eyes.

"That's because they don't understand the beauty of machinery!" Renedia shouted.
