Chapter 757 - Chapter 395: A Mission Concerning Konoha's Future (Double-Length Chapter)

The first day of formal training in the second phase of Anbu training.

When Mokgetsu arrived at the training ground, all forty Anbu and Root ninja had already gathered, waiting for the class to begin.

Mokgetsu walked to the front of the ninjas and, as usual, used appraisal to scan everyone.

Some ninjas curiously observed Mokgetsu as well.

Although Mokgetsu was appointed as a squad leader only a few days ago and had never served in the Anbu before, he was already "widely known" among the Anbu even before his battlefield debut.

This was partly due to the fifteen Anbu being trained speaking highly of Mokgetsu, and partly because of his identity as the developer of the "Dark Call" technique.

Due to the high practicality of the Dark Call and its low learning threshold, Sarutobi Hiruzen was eager for all Anbu ninjas to master it.

However, since no ninja within the Anbu had yet to achieve mastery of the Dark Call, the promotion efforts were progressing slowly, with only a few talented ninjas learning it.

Nevertheless, Sarutobi Hiruzen's promotion of the Dark Call ensured that every Anbu remembered the name Habu Mokgetsu.

"I am Habu Mokgetsu, the person in charge of this training," Mokgetsu introduced himself.

"Today's training will be divided into two groups. Those who participated in the previous training stand on the right to form a new queue; the rest, stay where you are."

Due to Sarutobi Hiruzen and Shimura Danzo both promoting the Dark Call, most ninjas undergoing training had some progress with it, but most were at a lamentably low proficiency level, barely better than not having learned it at all.

For those who had already mastered the Dark Call and even reached a proficient level, Mokgetsu naturally couldn't have them learn the previous content again with the new round of trainees.

After all, those present were Anbu and Root ninjas, and they quickly carried out Mokgetsu's instructions, forming two orderly teams in an instant.

Coincidentally, each team had exactly twenty members, making the two teams equal in number.

"Shadow Clone Jutsu!"

Mokgetsu formed a seal and created a shadow clone, instructing the clone to take the ninjas who had already learned the Dark Call to a slightly farther place, ensuring no mutual interference.

During the previous training, Mokgetsu barely taught on the first day because he engaged in practice battles with all the trainees to establish his authority, wasting quite a bit of time.

This time, Mokgetsu had no such troubles and could teach normally on the first day.

Although his reputation was not yet on par with the Sannin, it could be said that he was a well-known Konoha expert in the Ninja World, and no one in the Anbu could doubt his strength.

"You all should be familiar with the Dark Call," Mokgetsu stated.

This was something mentioned in the materials provided by the Anbu, not something Mokgetsu deduced from the appraisal panel.

The ninjas all nodded in confirmation.

"Then I'll skip some of the basic introductions and go directly to teaching the specific content," Mokgetsu continued.

Seeing no objections, Mokgetsu began the formal class, starting with the most basic breathing posture.

"Maintaining a specific posture while breathing can help you quickly familiarize yourselves with the breathing rhythm of the Dark Call, which is one of its core elements," Mokgetsu reminded them.

All the Anbu and Root ninjas listened intently.

Two hours later, they had to admit that the legends of Mokgetsu circulated within the Anbu were by no means exaggerated. Mokgetsu was an extraordinarily effective teacher.

"As expected of the developer of the Dark Call, no wonder Tobita and the others hold Captain Habu in such high regard," an Anbu ninja couldn't help but think.

When Sarutobi Hiruzen promoted the Dark Call within the Anbu, he selected a few who had trained well in the technique to teach. But after being taught by Mokgetsu, he found there was no comparison; the disparity was too vast.

Mokgetsu's teaching was not only clear and easy to understand, but he could also pinpoint core issues and help them quickly resolve them during practice.

Within just two hours, the Anbu ninjas had solved several previously confusing issues.

"Now take a fifteen-minute break," Mokgetsu said, leaving a shadow clone before heading to the other group.

Although the shadow clone had the same understanding of the Dark Call as the main body, it couldn't provide the teaching skill boost.

Mokgetsu planned to distribute his teaching evenly, teaching one group for two hours or half a day, then switching to the other group for the same amount of time, allowing every ninja to benefit from the teaching skill boost.

After the break, Mokgetsu's main body began guiding the experienced team.

When the shadow clone was guiding the experienced team, it didn't start teaching the Dark Burning Jutsu but instead had them practice the Dark Call to warm up for Mokgetsu's main body instruction.

"Next, you will learn the advanced technique of the Dark Call—the Dark Burning Jutsu," Mokgetsu said straightforwardly.

Unlike the Breathing Chakra Mode, the Dark Burning Jutsu doesn't require a high proficiency level. Even those below proficient in the Dark Call can succeed in its cultivation, though it's more challenging.

The ninjas below were somewhat surprised; their initial thought was to refine the Dark Call during this training, not expecting to learn an advanced technique as well.

"The Dark Burning Jutsu can consume a large amount of chakra within your body to significantly enhance your strength and speed, temporarily amplifying the effect of the Dark Call," Mokgetsu explained.

The Anbu ninjas displayed expressions of anticipation.

Although Mokgetsu's introduction was straightforward, the Dark Call was already capable of boosting explosive power, and amplifying it could mean tremendous enhancement.
