Chapter 914 - Chapter 865: Target, World Champion!

Dimensional Fissure can basically be seen as a Magic Card version of "Macro Cosmos". The only difference is that "Macro Cosmos" banishes any card sent to the Graveyard by either side, while "Dimensional Fissure" only banishes Monster Cards.

But in terms of how disgusting it is to play against, this Continuous Magic Card is probably not much weaker than Macro Cosmos.

As a top Duelist who managed to fight his way into the grand finals, Dr. Klegutata naturally has a few tricks up his sleeve.

First he activates "Graceful Charity", draws three cards and then discards two from his hand. He even deliberately reveals those two cards, and since they're both Monster Cards, they're directly banished by "Dimensional Fissure".

Then he activates "Magical Stone Excavation", discards two cards from his hand to return the Magic Card "Graceful Charity" from the Graveyard to his hand. The two discarded cards are also Monster Cards, so they're likewise banished.

Next, he activates the Magic Card "Graceful Charity" he took back, discarding another two Monster Cards, which are then banished.

All preparations complete, Klegutata bursts into loud laughter, his booming voice like a great bell, making people's eardrums ache.

"Kid, making it this far is already pretty good for you, but this is the end of the line!" Klegutata roars. "Magic Card 'Dimension Fusion'!"

"I pay 2000 Life Points, and both players Special Summon all monsters that were banished from the game!"

It's a perennial Forbidden Card for a reason; this sequence is actually pretty busted. So far Klegutata has banished six Monster Cards in one go, and with "Dimension Fusion" he can drop five monsters onto the field at once!

Unless a monster has its own Summoning restriction and can't be Special Summoned by normal means, with this little combo of Dr. Klegutata's he can theoretically Special Summon any five monsters!

That's downright terrifying; the audience on-site all hold their breath.

[Klegutata, LP 4000 → LP 2000]

Here it comes!

What kind of monsters will they be? Some prehistoric dragon with top-tier attack power? Or mechanized Warriors?

Considering Dr. Klegutata's burly frame and bulging muscles, plus the fact he's a former convict, this standard macho-type Duelist should definitely be using all sorts of vicious brutal beasts…

…Nani!?

Nobody expected it. Our macho Duelist actually… actually slapped down a short, squishy, moe spell loli onto the field!

[Ebon Magician Curran, DEF 0]

Ebon Magician Curran, a cute little loli with a delicate face, wearing a long Lolita-style dress, holding a tiny pink whip in her hand, and even sporting a pair of rabbit ears on the hat perched on her little head.

No matter how you look at it, she doesn't fit the "macho convict" character setting at all…

But the macho contestant clearly doesn't see any problem; he's even more hyped as he continues.

"Next, I Special Summon 'Cosmo Queen'!"

[Cosmo Queen, ATK 2900]

"And I Special Summon three 'Valkyrie Mage'!"

[Valkyrie Mage, ATK 1600] x3

No need to say much about Valkyrie Mage: fair-skinned, long-legged spell-girl beauties whose outfits and looks are very similar to Dark Magician Girl.

So our inmate gentleman just summoned five monsters in one breath, and all five actually turned out to be girls.

This is very macho.JPG.

Without wasting words, Dr. Klegutata immediately orders Cosmo Queen to attack "Destiny Hero Diamond Dude"!

Diamond Dude naturally can't withstand it and is shattered on the spot by Cosmo Queen's strike.

[Ed, LP 4000 → LP 2500]

"But the moment I take damage, the effects of the 'Vision Hero Poisoner', 'Vision Hero Increase', and 'Vision Hero Minimum Ray' I discarded to the Graveyard last turn all activate!"

"The three Vision Heroes in the Graveyard can be set in my Trap Zone as phantoms!"

Destiny and Vision were personally designed by Ed's father; in his heart, they are the strongest Heroes.

As a child, Ed once promised his father that he would win the world champion title with the power of these Heroes.

Now is the time to fulfill that promise.

"Heh, phantoms huh? Those phantoms won't be able to protect you!" Klegutata bellows.

Ed snaps his fingers. "Trap Card 'Waboku'! This turn my monsters cannot be destroyed by battle, and all battle damage I take becomes 0!"

Klegutata: "!"

Waboku, one of the strongest defensive Traps, can basically completely shut down the opponent's offensive possibilities.

But why didn't he activate it before Diamond Dude was destroyed?

Could it be that…

Klegutata's gaze fell onto the clusters of phantoms behind Ed's back row.

He took that damage on purpose, just to call out these phantoms?

"I set two cards face-down. Turn end." Klegutata said.

His absolutely advantageous board state remained unshaken.

"As long as 'Valkyrie the Magician' is on the field, the opponent can't choose any other Spellcaster-Type as an attack target. And right now I've got three 'Valkyrie the Magician' on my field, and all my other monsters are also Spellcaster-Type."

In other words, even if Ed manages to Summon a monster strong enough, he still won't even be able to declare an attack.

Klegutata bared a "you're done for" grin, and let out a sinister chuckle.

This year's World Championship title, he would claim it no matter what!

"My turn, draw." Ed kept the same unhurried tempo. "At the start of the Standby Phase, the effect of 'Take Over 5' in my graveyard activates.

I banish 'Take Over 5' in the graveyard and a copy of it from my Card Deck, and draw 1 card from my Card Deck.

Next is 'Destiny Hero Diamond Dude's' effect. The Magic Card 'Destiny Draw' I sent to the graveyard last turn activates directly with no cost. I draw 2 cards from my Card Deck."

Ed glanced at the snarling rift crackling with electricity over his opponent's head, raising an eyebrow slightly.

"Looks like I've got to deal with that annoying thing first." he said flatly. "Then the effect of the Magic Card 'Galaxy Cyclone' in my graveyard.

I banish 'Galaxy Cyclone' in the graveyard, and destroy 1 face-up Magic Trap Card on the field. Destroy 'Dimensional Fissure'."

The fissure was forcibly sealed shut by a surge of silvery-white cyclonic power. Klegutata frowned slightly and snorted, "Petty tricks..."

"Then I also activate the Magic Card 'Graceful Charity'," Ed cut him off, "I draw 3 cards from my Card Deck, and discard 2 to the graveyard."

"Magic Card 'D-Spirit' (D-Mind) activate! If you control no 'Destiny Hero', you can Special Summon a Level 3 or lower Destiny Hero from your Card Deck." (Anime card)

"Come forth! 'Destiny Hero Disk Commander'!"

[Destiny Hero Disk Commander, ATK 300]

The fake big bro of Destiny Hero: Blood D.

The real big bro of Destiny Hero: Disk Commander.

"The effect of 'Vision Hero Increase' in the Trap Zone: I can tribute a 'Hero' monster on the field to Special Summon it. I tribute 'Destiny Hero Disk Commander' and Special Summon Increase!"

[Vision Hero Increase, ATK 900]

"When Increase is Summoned, I Special Summon 'Vision Hero Vyon' from my Card Deck!"

[Vision Hero Vyon, ATK 1000]

"When Vyon is Summoned, I send a 'Hero' monster from my Card Deck to the graveyard. I send 'Destiny Hero Malicious' to the graveyard.

Then Vyon's second effect activates: I banish 'Destiny Hero Captain Tenacious' from my graveyard, and add 1 Magic Card 'Polymerization' from my Card Deck to my hand."

The Fusion Card popped out with pinpoint accuracy; Ed plucked it into his hand as the Card Deck rapidly auto-shuffled.

"He can spread the field this far in an instant?" Dr. Klegutata's face changed slightly. "So you plan to launch an offensive using the Fusion tactics 'Hero' is so good at?

But as long as 'Valkyrie the Magician' is here, all your attacks are completely locked down..."

"Magic Card 'D-Doctor' activate. I banish 1 'Destiny Hero' from my graveyard, and Special Summon another 'Destiny Hero' in the graveyard." (Anime card)

Two cards shot out at once from Ed's Duel Disk Grave Zone.

"I banish 'Destiny Hero Dogma' from the game, and revive 'Destiny Hero Disk Commander'!"

[Destiny Hero Disk Commander, ATK 300]

"Disk Commander's effect: when it's revived from the graveyard, I draw 2 cards from my Card Deck."

Ed drew 2 more cards, and immediately another card popped out from the Grave Zone.

"Effect of 'Destiny Hero Malicious' in the graveyard! I banish Malicious from the game to Special Summon another copy of Malicious from my Card Deck!"

[Destiny Hero Malicious, ATK 800]

The field was packed with all kinds of phantoms and Heroes of destiny; Ed paused briefly, and gave a faint smile.

"The real show is only just beginning." A card in his hand flashed out. "Magic Card 'Polymerization'! I fuse 'Destiny Hero Disk Commander' and 'Destiny Hero Malicious' on the field!

The Fusion materials are 2 'Destiny Hero' monsters! Fusion Summon!

The Hero who pierces through the wheel of destiny, now fuses, taking on a new form to reign over the darkened future—

—Destiny Hero Dystopia, Fusion Summon!!!"
