"However, your 'Elemental Resonance' theory is a bit outdated. The mages of the Third Era relied too much on external elements and ignored the guidance of their own Magic Power." As he spoke, his fingertip lightly touched, and a wisp of silver-gray Magic Power sketched out complex runes in the air, instantly condensing into a pure flame.
Inside the flame, however, flowed the patterns of frost.
"See, elements don't exist independently; they can be transformed into each other."
Ian's demonstration was very direct.
The wizards widened their eyes, some even instinctively leaning closer for fear of missing any detail.
"How, how is this possible?!" a young wizard specialized in Flame Magic cried out, "How can ice and fire coexist?! In a natural environment, the two elements should conflict!"
Wizards today are still pursuing harmony with nature.
Ian smiled.
"It's not coexistence, but 'reconstruction'." With a flick of his fingertip, the flame instantly turned into water, then solidified into rock, and finally dispersed into a breeze.
"Magic Power is the essence; elements are just appearances." Ian spoke softly, and wizards of later generations have already begun to challenge nature. This is the progress of wizards in the history of magic evolution.
"I have learned!"
Everyone seemed to feel as though they saw the Path of Legends of the future.
"I want to know about the more controversial spells of your era." Ian said directly, "Especially those cataloged as forbidden by the Divine Hall."
Of course, spreading knowledge was also his way to gain more Magic Knowledge from these Ancient Wizards. Everyone exchanged glances, and then the elder wizard stepped forward.
"We do possess some rather controversial spells." He said in a low voice, "These spells are said to originate from Dark Wizards and were once besieged by the Gods."
As soon as these words were spoken,
Ian suddenly perked up.
"For example?" Ian asked with keen interest.
"For instance, the 'Soul Resonance Technique,' which is a technique that allows two consciousnesses to connect briefly," another wizard added, "but if used improperly, it can lead to schizophrenia."
"And the 'Star Summoning Array,' which is said to harness the Power of the Stars to guide out some unknown entity," a young witch interjected, "but we have never understood its true principle."
Saying this,
these people all took out their treasured notes or collected ancient books and handed them to Ian—for Ancient Wizards, it was customary to keep their most valuable possessions close to the body.
Since the Enlargement Charm has not yet appeared, everyone kept their possessions in the seams of their clothes; some more powerful wizards might remodel their body organs to hide them inside their bodies.
"These knowledge are quite good, but there are also many errors among them." Ian's ability to learn was beyond doubt, for he was, after all, a true Ravenclaw student.
Just a bit of research, and Ian learned much new Ancient Magic. His main interest lay in understanding the structure of Ancient Magic, and he wasn't stingy about pointing out the errors.
He picked up a pen.
On the ground, he drew a complex magic array pattern.
"The key to the Soul Resonance Technique is frequency synchronization." Ian explained while drawing, "Human consciousness is like waves, and only when the frequencies are aligned can they truly connect. Else, it will lead to chaos."
"As for the Star Summoning Array..." he paused, then continued, "It's not summoning an entity but opening a door to another dimension. You failed because you didn't have the correct coordinates. I recommend studying more about astronomy."
"What is astronomy? I have some here." Ian also shared some of the materials he previously collected for Teacher Morgan, and the knowledge within opened a new world for these Ancient Wizards.
The wizards were astounded.
They never imagined that problems that had troubled them for years could be solved in a few words, and the speaker was already an author and an accomplished magic researcher.
Indeed.
Since this is a Legend.
The study of magic must be extremely comprehensive and deep.
"This is like establishing a new school of thought!" Due to the impact brought by the Curse System, these wizards were all enormously shaken, and their gaze towards Ian grew increasingly respectful.
Clearly.
They thought the Curse System was Ian's groundbreaking contribution for future generations—the Legendary Wizard before them was not only powerful but also a sage with the future of wizards in mind.
In that moment,
a beautiful misunderstanding was born. The Curse System was, in fact, not Ian's creation, but the Ancient Wizards didn't know that—they only received the concept of the Curse System from Ian. It was the effort of several generations and naturally very comprehensive, offering these Wild Wizards an entirely new, paradigm-shifting experience.
In the time that followed, the wizards in the barn completely abandoned their previous caution and vied to consult Ian.
"Sir! Our school has been unable to solve the stability problem of the Space Folding Technique..."
"Try using the Reverse Magic Flow to stabilize the node." Ian casually drew a three-dimensional rune in the air, "Like this, Magic Power doesn't flow unidirectionally but forms a closed loop."
"Oh my god! So this is it!"
"Sir! We've been unable to replicate the 'Divine Rune' of the Ancient Magic Array..."
"Because you were misled." Ian scoffed, "The so-called 'Divine Rune' is just a trick the Ancient Wizards used to impress. The true core is 'Magic Resonance'."
