Chapter 930 - Chapter 275: God of Death and the Unexpected

Deep within the Forbidden Forest.

In a desolate area, the moonlight casts mottled shadows on the bronze gate, the charred land, and the cracked rocks, all of which indicate that a fierce battle once took place here. Ian stands before the valley, his green eyes gazing at the massive bronze gate, which towers hundreds of meters high before him like an ant.

"Even Wu Xie would call this a masterpiece... he might have to take out the Black Donkey Hoof and pretend to be tense for a moment." He muttered softly, recalling a novel he had read before. The bronze gate stands majestically, densely carved with runes on the door frame—not only Rune Language but also various Ancient Magic Runes intertwining together.

Those runes and unfamiliar magic scripts layer upon each other, some engraved deeply into the bones, others flickering like flowing mercury. Altogether they seem like a magical language concoction forming the wondrous power of this bronze gate.

"What exactly is this thing?"

Ian reached out, his fingertips gently touching the door face, the sensation cold and smooth yet unrecognizable in terms of material, with a subtle tremor in the coldness. The material composition of such a gate neither resembles ordinary metal nor stone or any other substance; Ian couldn't find any adjective to describe this texture.

Could it truly belong to a substance unknown to both nature and the realm of Alchemy? Ian felt that the composition of the bronze gate was more akin to some sort of solidified magic creations.

Ian attempted once more to use magic to influence the gate.

His specialty magic was none other than Dark Arts—and Transformation Technique. Since it had already been verified that Dark Arts couldn't affect the bronze gate at all, Ian started to try using the Transformation Technique to turn it into other items, wanting to see if this gate could disturb its Extraordinary Traits.

"Engorgio!"

Ian's magic swirled around the gate, yet like a stone sinking into the ocean, it couldn't even shake the rust on the surface of the bronze gate, and he could feel the magic power utilized for the Transformation Technique dissipating instantly.

Does it have properties immune to magic?

It shouldn't be.

This bronze gate itself emits an extremely rich magical aura. If there were truly a material immune to magic, then according to Alchemy theories, it would undoubtedly be unable to carry any other magic again.

In other words.

Located now deep within the Hogwarts Forbidden Forest, it's unknown whether due to the earthquake and valley fracture that its bronze gate was exposed, possessing a contradiction unlikely to exist within the domain of Alchemy.

"Was there an earthquake before?"

Ian didn't pay much attention to these matters; in his memory, there wasn't, but after all, he had been away from Hogwarts for some time; during that past period, he might have indeed encountered an earthquake in this same space—regardless of whether an earthquake occurred, by normal logic, this bronze gate should have been in a sealed, unactivated state before.

If not.

A few professors at Hogwarts, along with the old headmaster and his good buddy, shouldn't have missed the secrets here; Ian, who liked to wander around the Forbidden Forest, shouldn't have heard the Dragon's Roar only today—for evident reasons; he discovered the peculiarities here now due to something causing the sealed bronze gate to reappear.

And before its reappearance.

It's unknown how long it was buried in this valley, and surely there were methods within the valley to ensure the sealed state couldn't be discovered by anyone.

Upon thinking here.

Ian's attention also shifted into the valley.

He donned his flying cloak, ascending into the air like Doctor Strange, his light green eyes surveying the various hidden spots in the cracked valley.

"No, someone destroyed the original valley that stored the sealed bronze gate?"

At this point, Ian noticed something extremely suspicious, for the valley fracturing was too orderly, as if precisely torn open by some force, rather than "right on time" or caused by a natural earthquake collapse.

"Who would do such a thing, and for what reason?" He whispered to himself and then waved his magic wand, quickly flying into the depths of the valley's fracture.

Inside is unknown for how many years a never-seen daylight variety of rocks.

The rocky walls on both sides gradually reveal unnatural textures. Those seemingly ordinary cracks, upon close inspection, reveal many places engraved with magic runes, just as he suspected.

The entire valley interior.

In the area revealed post the valley's crack, countless large magic runes are engraved within, even some internal rocks have been designed into specific shapes. They are spread throughout the entire mountain like blood vessels, some dull and lightless, others faintly flickering, seemingly still functioning.

These stones might be sculpted, or possibly transformed with magic; Ian couldn't make a clear judgment, as he couldn't even fully decipher every magic rune structure, just as he couldn't effectively interpret the amalgamated magic runes on the bronze gate to determine its full purpose.

"I'm still not learned enough," Ian couldn't help but sigh. What he saw now, those magic runes, similar to the ones on the bronze gate, belong to a mash-up.

Perhaps both are originated from the same hand. In any case, Ian can tell from the decipherable magic runes that, just like his previous speculations, the entire small valley is a gigantic "container," meant to carry and suppress the operation of the bronze gate as a form of sealing facility.
