I have a few things I'd like to mention and ask.
First, I'd like to know what you think about how my fanfic are progressing right now.
Another thing: when the current KHM arc ends (Age of Ultron, it's going to have a bit of the movie and some of my own craziness, plus the participation of some servants), the fanfic will go on a short hiatus so I can fully revise and rewrite Arcs 1 through 3.
Why?
When I first started this fanfic, I was still learning how to use AI as an editing tool. As a result, it kept messing up my "corrections," giving the text that awful AI-generated feel. Because of that, I'm going to redo everything from the very beginning to eliminate that issue once and for all. On top of that, I'll also remove the Login System entirely from the beginning of the story. (Naturally, this will require me to make some changes to the beginning of the Tensura arc.)
The NieR: Automata arc will also be reworked, with part of it being rewritten, especially the beginning.
Instead of that opening where it feels like absolutely everything conspires to throw Arthur straight into the middle of the events, I'm going in a different direction. In the new version, I'll remove that entire sequence in the city where he appears, gets attacked by Machine Lifeforms, realizes someone is watching him, chases that person, fights more Machine Lifeforms, learns about YoRHa, and then almost immediately becomes everyone's leader. Instead, the arc will begin directly in the Desert Zone (those familiar with NieR: Automata will probably know what I mean), where Arthur meets A2 first and spends some time traveling alongside her. I think their relationship will develop much more naturally that way, since A2 isn't exactly the kind of character who would suddenly start liking someone for no apparent reason.
During their journey together, Arthur eventually comes across the Resistance Camp, where he meets Devola and Popola and helps them deal with the guilt program installed within them.
This approach will let me develop both their story and A2's much better, instead of making everything feel like one big summary just to rush through the arc.
After that comes the part where Arthur meets 2B in the Forest Zone, fights the Machine Lifeform Engels, and from there the story continues until the point I feel is most appropriate.
As for Arc 3, I'm still a little undecided, but the most likely idea is to turn it into something similar to a Spider-Verse arc. Honestly, I think that would be far more interesting than those endless chapters of Gwen dealing with Lizard Peter in the current version of Arc 3.
Naturally, a few smaller parts of the current lore will also need to be adjusted to accommodate these changes.
The main reason I decided to do this is because I went through the fanfic myself from the beginning and, honestly, there's a lot that isn't fun.
I have a special fondness for this fanfic, so I want it to be enjoyable for everyone to read, which is why I made this decision.
If I don't do this, the tendency is that I'll see people stop reading, lose motivation, and eventually abandon this fic.
I don't want that to happen, so I'm just asking for patience and sorry for the inconvenience.
PS: I'll do the update all at once as soon as each entire arc is ready; according to my calculations, it should be around a week or less for each one.
