"Want to know? If you kowtow to me, I'll tell you," Song Jie said from atop the Wind Riding Sky Eagle, looking down arrogantly.
"You're asking for death!!!"
Lu Nian's eyes darkened, filled with murderous intent.
Song Jie laughed. "Want to kill me? I'm right here—come and try."
Lu Nian was seething. He looked up at Song Jie, barely restraining himself from attacking.
Song Jie was still alive after using a blood relic—something extraordinary must have happened to him! Lu Nian desperately wanted to know, as it had even interfered with his Magic Star Chart.
"Ice Lock!"
Lu Nian growled, and chains of ice shot upward like serpents, trying to drag Song Jie down from the sky.
But—
Song Jie's spellcasting speed was just as fast. In an instant, a golden light enveloped him, rendering the icy chains completely useless.
Lu Nian frowned. With his Ice Element and soul seed, it should have been impossible for Song Jie to block him so easily.
Then he remembered Song Jie's Mutated Talent and calmed slightly before swiftly completing another spell.
A dazzling constellation appeared around Lu Nian.
"Ice Coffin!"
A cold gleam flashed through his eyes as a terrifying chill filled the air. Moments later, a massive Ice Coffin descended from the heavens, slamming down toward Song Jie.
Despite facing Advanced-Level Ice magic, Song Jie remained perfectly calm. He slowly raised his hand, summoning the Sword of Penetration, which shot straight toward the falling coffin.
In an instant, the Sword of Penetration pierced the Ice Coffin. The structure exploded, shards of ice scattering through the air like glass.
Lu Nian's brows furrowed sharply. Song Jie had destroyed his magic so easily?
"So this is the power of a Mutated Talent," he muttered. "I've finally seen it for myself."
He now felt as if he couldn't see through Song Jie at all. His earlier confidence was quickly crumbling.
Song Jie smirked and mocked, "Any other tricks? Hurry and use them. Like that petrification magic tool you've been hiding—better use it now before you give up."
Lu Nian's expression tightened. How did Song Jie know about that magic tool?
But now wasn't the time to think. He had to use everything he had.
"Eye of Petrification!"
"Petrify!!!"
As his last words fell, Lu Nian released his Earth Element Advanced-Level magic.
Wherever his gaze passed, fine dust filled the air, petrifying everything it touched—even the clouds above seemed to harden.
However, even his Eye of Petrification couldn't penetrate Song Jie's golden defense.
Song Jie and the Wind Riding Sky Eagle hovered safely, watching him like spectators.
"How… how could this be?!" Lu Nian muttered, disbelief flooding his face.
According to the information he'd gathered, Song Jie was supposed to be only an Intermediate Mage! Even if he had advanced within the year, this level of power was absurd.
His Advanced-Level magic couldn't even scratch the defense!
The truth was simple—Song Jie's protection could only be broken by Super-Level spells.
Anything less? Useless.
Driven to desperation, Lu Nian revealed his trump card—a petrification magic tool.
"I don't believe your defense can last forever!" he roared, forcing the petrified artifact to merge with his arm.
He rapidly completed another Earth Element spell. A brown constellation surrounded him, and with a shout, the Rock Demon Eye blasted forward again.
"Petrify for me!"
Song Jie stood unfazed, calmly reinforcing his golden barrier.
The petrifying sand surged and swirled—but once again, nothing happened.
Lu Nian staggered back a step, panic creeping into his eyes. He had been confident just moments ago, but now he was trembling.
Song Jie seemed untouchable, invincible. No matter what Lu Nian threw at him, nothing worked.
"You're out of tricks, aren't you?" Song Jie said coldly. "Then it's my turn."
The Sword of Penetration formed instantly, gleaming with deadly light.
Lu Nian's instincts screamed danger. He quickly summoned his defensive armor, layering himself in a protective magic tool.
But—
"Ah!!!"
The Sword of Penetration pierced through his defenses as if they didn't exist, severing his arm cleanly.
Lu Nian fell backward, clutching the bleeding stump, his face twisted in agony.
"I want your other arm too," Song Jie said mercilessly.
The sword flew again. Before Lu Nian could react, his other arm hit the ground.
"Ah!!!"
Lu Nian collapsed to his knees, his voice breaking under the pain. Blood pooled around him as cold sweat drenched his face.
Song Jie looked down at him, utterly indifferent.
If he hadn't been strong enough, it would've been him lying there instead—another victim of Lu Nian's cruel experiments.
Then, out of the corner of his eye, Song Jie noticed movement—Mo Fan.
He had succeeded.
"Don't you want to see the result of your creation?" Song Jie said darkly. "Turn around. That's the monster you made."
Lu Nian trembled and turned his head.
What he saw made his eyes widen in awe and fear—Mo Fan stood there, wreathed in darkness, demonic energy twisting around him.
"Yes… yes!" Lu Nian shouted madly. "It worked! The Demonification Element succeeded!"
But the next instant, Mo Fan vanished—then reappeared right before him. He grabbed Lu Nian by the neck and lifted him off the ground with terrifying strength.
"W-What are you doing?! I created you! You must obey me!" Lu Nian screamed, panic setting in.
Mo Fan's eyes glowed with an eerie, violent light. Evil aura swirled around him as if he were battling inner chaos—but his intent was clear.
He wanted to destroy the man who had made him this way.
Mo Fan slammed Lu Nian into the rooftop with a thunderous crash, shattering the concrete.
Song Jie winced at the sight—just watching it made him feel the pain.
"You can't do this! I'm the one who created you!" Lu Nian cried, his voice shaking with horror.
At that moment, Zhan Kong arrived, rushing toward the chaos. When he saw the scene, Lu Nian was barely clinging to life.
"Song Jie! What's going on here?!" Zhan Kong demanded.
"Lu Nian forced Mo Fan to use a blood relic," Song Jie explained grimly. "Now he's Demonified."
"What?!" Zhan Kong's eyes widened. He flew closer and tried to calm Mo Fan. "Mo Fan, it's me—Zhan Kong! Don't lose control!"
Before he could finish, Mo Fan twisted Lu Nian's neck with a sickening crack.
Lu Nian's body went limp.
He had been killed by the very devil he created.
Mo Fan slowly raised his head, his demonic eyes glowing as he turned to face Song Jie and Zhan Kong…
