"I've recently developed an eight-pack, Teacher Tang Yue. Would you like to see it?"
Tang Yue froze for a moment, then swallowed lightly.
"Even if you developed a sixteen-pack, it would still be useless. Don't even think about it!" she scolded.
"That's a shame," Song Jie said regretfully.
Tang Yue's tone turned serious. "Back to the main topic. I'm contacting you because of something important."
"What is it?" Song Jie asked, immediately noticing the shift in her tone and stopping his jokes.
"You've encountered members of the Black Vatican before, haven't you?"
"Yes."
Tang Yue's voice grew solemn. "The Black Vatican's minions have already infiltrated Demon City. Their targets are you and Mo Fan."
Song Jie raised an eyebrow. They still dared to come after him?
With the strength he had revealed so far, even a High-Level Mage wouldn't be able to handle him.
And what the Black Vatican didn't know was that even a High-Level Mage might not be his match.
So, he wasn't afraid of them coming for him—he was only afraid they wouldn't.
Then, a thought struck him.
"Teacher Tang Yue, if I catch a Black Vatican member, do I get a bounty?"
Tang Yue frowned. She had just warned him to be cautious, and yet this guy was already thinking about making money!
"Song Jie, I'm telling you something serious right now," she said with a sigh.
Song Jie smiled. "Teacher Tang Yue, I know. When soldiers come, we'll block them. When water floods, we'll dam it. Besides, you're here. With the Judgment Association on guard, I have nothing to fear!"
Tang Yue couldn't help but smile bitterly. What he said wasn't wrong—after all, the Judgment Association would never let the Black Vatican act unchecked.
After a short pause, she decided to tell him the rest.
"For bounties on the Black Vatican:
A Gray-Robed Believer is worth five hundred thousand.
A Black-Robed Priest is worth nine million.
And a Blue Deacon is worth one hundred twenty million.
Whether dead or alive, their identities must be verified, or you must have solid evidence proving they belong to the Black Vatican."
Song Jie drew in a sharp breath.
He remembered that the Pearl Institute already had several Gray-Robed Believers hidden inside.
This could be his golden opportunity to make a fortune!
Moreover, that guy Mu Yuang was sure to appear in Demon City too.
He was a Black-Robed Priest—catching him alone would net nine million!
In Song Jie's eyes, these people were walking treasure chests!
Seeing that he had gone quiet, Tang Yue continued, "If the Black Vatican dares to act, we'll already have a net waiting for them."
"Teacher Tang Yue, then you must protect me," Song Jie teased.
"Don't think I don't know about your three Warrior-Level Summoned Beasts," Tang Yue exposed him without hesitation.
With three Warrior-Level Summoned Beasts under his command, Song Jie was already invincible below the Commander Level.
And Tang Yue was sure he had even more hidden trump cards.
"Teacher Tang Yue, you know that means the Black Vatican knows too. They won't give me the chance to summon them so easily," Song Jie replied with a grin.
"Alright. Stay in touch during this time. Contact me immediately if anything happens," Tang Yue instructed before hanging up.
Song Jie set his phone down and sat on his large bed, deep in thought.
If he could collect all the Black Vatican heads, he'd easily earn enough for a Galaxy Vein!
Especially since a Blue Deacon would also appear this time—worth one hundred twenty million!
That alone was enough for him to buy the Galaxy Vein outright.
Saying he wasn't tempted would be a lie.
He slowly calmed his excitement and looked forward to that day's arrival.
Whether he could get rich overnight would depend on how many heads the Black Vatican sent his way!
Clearing his thoughts, Song Jie took out the materials Ling Tiancheng had given him earlier.
He muttered to himself, "That material's been tested for so long without any problems. It should be safe now."
Previously, he hadn't dared to use it on Little Green, fearing potential side effects.
But after so long—and with some of the same materials already auctioned off without issue—it seemed safe enough.
If there was any left, he planned to give some to Mu Nujiao.
She mainly cultivated the Plant Element, and with this material, her strength would increase dramatically.
Song Jie summoned Little Green and had it refine the materials.
By the next morning, after refining half the materials, Little Green stopped on its own.
Half of the materials still remained.
"How do you feel now, Little Green?" Song Jie asked.
"Ring ring ring!"
Little Green chirped cheerfully.
From its tone, Song Jie understood that it was fine—and that its strength had improved!
"That's good," he said, relieved that there were no side effects. His earlier worries faded.
He glanced at the date. Mu Nujiao's birthday was only a few days away.
He decided he'd give her the remaining material as a birthday gift.
Just then, another idea came to him—perhaps a way to locate the Black Vatican members.
Although the Judgment Association was also tracking them, its reach was limited.
So, Song Jie decided not to rely solely on them.
He still had one more card to play—Li Rui.
Li Rui wasn't just his contracted companion; she was also backed by the Vampire Club.
Maybe he could enlist their help. After all, the Judgment Association's involvement was too politically sensitive.
Without wasting time, Song Jie contacted Li Rui and arranged to meet her at the campus gate.
When he arrived at the Pearl Institute's main gate, he immediately spotted a girl in a short skirt standing by the entrance.
The breeze lifted her long hair as she turned her head slightly, her clear, blood-red eyes locking onto him.
"Do you need something?" she asked softly.
"I'd like to request help from your Vampire Club," Song Jie said seriously.
"What kind of help?"
"I need your bloodline members to monitor two students for me," he explained, handing her a note. "If they contact anyone suspicious, follow them—and then report their location to me."
Li Rui glanced down at the names—Jia Wenqing and Fu Tianming.
Both were hidden members of the Black Vatican within the Pearl Institute, something Song Jie knew from the original timeline.
As for others, he would have to uncover them one by one.
"Leave it to me," Li Rui nodded confidently.
After fusing with demonic blood, her strength had grown tremendously, and her standing within the Vampire Club had risen as well.
Other vampires no longer dared provoke her; some even sought to curry favor with her.
Song Jie trusted her completely. After giving her a few more instructions, he turned and hailed a taxi toward the Qingtian Hunter Agency.
Lingling had already messaged him earlier, asking him to meet there.
When he arrived, Mo Fan was already present.
"Lingling, what did you call Brother Jie and me here for?" Mo Fan asked curiously.
"Take a look," Old Bao said, placing two commission documents in front of them.
Song Jie didn't even need to check—he could already guess.
It was likely a commission from the Judgment Association, assigning the Qingtian Hunter Agency to protect both him and Mo Fan.
He chuckled to himself.
If he protected Mo Fan, and Mo Fan protected him…
Could they both claim each other's commission fees?
